I need to tune this CPU so badly. Getting HORRIBLE scores compared to the average 13700k on here.....my score isn't even valid because it throttled during the "finish render" part, after the initial 10 min run. Running my daily gaming overclock of Pcores: 56x2, 55x4, 54x8; Ecores 44x8 - and I'm getting 1429! I am seeing 13600k's with similar, sometimes better scores.
If I revert to the default CPU parameters and apply undervolt of -.100 (anything more is unstable) the score drops even further.....Something tells me my board choice may have been a poor one, or I am just missing something.... Anyone out there with a Gigabyte Z690 and 13700k can assist in getting this thing to par?

I was looking at the wild swings in reported performance especially on GPUs and suggest if you're going to bench your GPU, install the most recent drivers and do a fresh restart. The number at the bottom is with the July drivers and the middle is the Sept drivers after a restart. If you look closely, you'll see they're a little different.

Read it and weep (for me).

Consider that from 4th gen i7(K) to 8th gen i5(non-K) didn't even bring 100pt difference in multithreaded.

I have an i5-8400 in another machine, I need to try this out as ~35% isn't a great improvement.

I'm from the UK - no shop has it so far. :(

Amazon has it, but with delivery from the US. :(
Funny. Then we are practically neighbors. Uk and Denmark is next to each other country wise.

hope uk get some soon. But as you stated is still very limited availability around the world.

You can reference it against my post below from the previous page. Z390 mobo, best chance, shouldn't allow too large of a delta to my H370 since BIOS OC of processor isn't possible on this generation. I no longer have the i5-2400 it replaced and was a substantially larger improvement over.

New 7950X3D fully maxed out: :cool:
View attachment 313350

Made a mistake with the CPU-Z screenshot so could only upload 2386 score to hwbot =/

This 7950X3D is getting 40.6k in Cinebench R23 :rockout:

Have swapped over to my 7800X3D and done some runs, have to say i'm a little surprised by the ST score
Just a other proof for this benchmark liking the v-cache i guess :)

7800X3D @ 8000MT/s
MT = 1263 points
ST = 122 points

I have this same CPU in my old Rig which is now my wife's Rig paired with a 3070 for locked 75fps 1440p gaming because "the colors were prettier" vs the high refresh rate 165hz TN panel - but it would explode during a Cinebench run lol - daily driving clocks are up to 4.4Ghz @1.4v. She uses controller only (except on Sims 4) and mostly plays retro games, puzzlers, platformers, side scrollers, dungeon crawlers, etc.... She does nothing but YouTube, MS 365 Suite, and games. Temps max out at about 65 during her day to day. I know, its reckless...but it's been in service now for almost 10 years - the faster it dies, the faster I have an excuse to build her an AMD system and see what they have to offer (queue evil laugh) - Should be able to get through a CB run if I come back down to 4.2Ghz @1.25v (poor silicon from day 1, always needed more voltage than the average 6950x)
I may bring it down a notch and give her a run just to compare my old system to my new......it's been a solid workhorse for many years and will probably still be good enough for her gaming needs for a few more years.

Results to be posted this evening.

And guys are like there is no point in tuning modern systems :rolleyes:
Not only that - I was under the belief that there's nothing left in any X3D chip once you've reached sustained max boost due to having good enough cooling. Apparently, if there is a will, there is a way.

i7 13700k..... CPU isn't getting too hot, temps at 87c after my second 10-minute run. That score isn't too hot either though......these are looking closer to 13600k scores. Guess my PC sucks :fear:
