Thanks for the warning, no good news for my favourite card. Seems similar to 4070 Ti situation with Asus cards.
Found this video: Let's see if MSI Trio and Gigabyte models are better in this...
Maybe because it depends on the card itself not on the model or brand name ? I can't hear any whine on my 4070 Dual btw.care to explain?

Because it depends on the PSU+mobo+card combo, nothing I can repro reliably enough to say "this has coil whine" and nobody will buy it, even though the coil exists only on my system (or the opposite)Was checking to see if W1zzard's review spoke on coil whine, couldn't find any such comments. W1zzard, care to explain? Why is such a thing not contained in the noise segment of the reviews, especially since it's so prevalent in the 4000 series cards?

My card has 30% as min, that is about 900rpm if I remember correctly. What is the minimum fans speed %? I'm trying to make custom curve in afterburner, but everything below 45% behaves unstable. 45% keeps running fine at 685 rpm. Is there a chance to set it on 30%?

My ASUS Dual GeForce RTX™ 4070 EVO OC is only a 2.5 slot card2.56 slot according to Asus page.
Thanks for the timely and comprehensive review! I am in awe that you single handedly managed to review so many video cards in a couple of days. I think this is a better buy than the founder's edition with dual BIOS and easily replaceable fans. While the 4070 is the cheapest Ada option yet, it's more expensive than it should be. To summarize:
Pros Cons
- Cheapest next gen card so far
- Low power draw
- Normal sized video cards
- Price too high for its performance: see the 6800XT
I'll wait until the 7800XT launches to make a decision. I expect that to be slower in ray tracing, but have decent power consumption, and lower price.
Why does it matter if this has 12gb or 16gb if its out performing the 6800xt?

You are using the maximum power draw chart which uses Furmark. For gaming, the difference in power is a more acceptable 49 W. With that being said, the 4070 Super is the best dual slot card now.My ASUS Dual GeForce RTX™ 4070 EVO OC is only a 2.5 slot card

Rx 7800 xt uses about the same power as rx 7700 xt up to 100-120 watt more than rtx 4070
Peaks for 7800 is 350 watt and 235 watt for a rtx 4070

If it's fater than rx 6800 xt it might be able to use more than 12gb vram, why would a 6800 xt have 16gb vramn if it can use more than 12 gb ?
To fool those who want a rx 6000 card to belive it's super fast since it has 16gb vram ?

Same on mine they hover around 80-90ºC, with summer temperatures in my room, about 28-32ºC. The card is undervolted to 0.945V.
I mailed Asus and they say it's normal temperatures.
Bad design IMHO, look at the delta between the GPU and memory hot spot, it's over 20ºC. And as always they said it voids the warranty if i open the card and try other thermal pads myself. So i will leave it like this.
95ºC should be the limit for GDDR6x from what i can gather online. It should be safe but it is not optimal.
But in this review, the vRAM gets to about 70ºC https://static.tweaktown.com/conten...l-geforce-rtx-4070-oc-edition-review_full.jpg so i still suspect a bad mount on mine.

In Norway 4070 super is 13% more expensive and 15% faster according to TPU so worth it atm except when 4070 is on sale.Try running the card at 1000 rpm
Again look at the rpm of the fans in #55 and that in the link, almost 1100 rpm, what rpm does you're picture show ?
Also look at the speed of the card and gpu load from the card in #55
Can you her the card at 685 rpm NO
Why bother with it, choose the queit bios and enjoy the card
+10% more expensive without having more vram
Did it have more vram i might would have considered it if price difference where 10% or no more than 50-60 euros
Where i bought my card theres around 120-130 euros difference for around 15 more fps in 1440p
Smooth game play, Q bios no annoying noise, no coilwhine knock on wood or as we say in Denmark 7-9-13 (no coilwhine), it does performe normal with only a ryzen 5 5600 (but have to google if a better cpu is noticeable, now that i have a fast gpu, a 5000 x3d doesn't make enough of a difference to be worth buying for me)
At 1000 rpm it would go above 100ºC hot spot. It runs at about 1500-1800 rpm on the P BIOS and undervolt. The Q BIOS is for cooking your card or for playing E-sport games or old games. Not for the likes of DCS World, Cyberpunk or Warhammer III that i playTry running the card at 1000 rpm
