Agreed, its just that unholy combo of commerce + copycats + TG that fails.
But that kinda radiates over the entire industry that way. I mean, its like a constant avoiding of turds while walking on the green TG grass.

But at the same time... its glass. Plastic is better. Steel is better. Wood is better. Its just that simple. The only reason we 'want' glass is because it is transparent and shiny.
I wanted to get the steel panel for the torrent but well, it costs more than the TG one... (30% more.) Either way Fractal makes awesome cases and I like the side panels.

Indeed, I love my glass panels. I still fear them a little. But they are strong, and it is a good design. I have been inside my case hundreds of times. It is a good design :)

The Corsair 5000d Airflows TG door is in fact a bit janked but for a different reason for me. You have to give it a quick yank to pull the pegs out not a slow pull. I can imagine it breaking if you pull it out slow and hard.
My gripe is the glass is so dark you need a flashlight to check water levels. Then there's the doofy secondary door on the back that has no hope of closing properly once you've routed the cables behind the MB.

Well, this confirms it then.....

"You can't fix stupid"

"Stupid is as stupid does"

"Cheap is as Cheap does"

Note that I have had many cases that had well designed tempered glass panels (3-5mm thick, beveled edges) that were properly mounted with rubber grommets, washers and thumb screws with stop tabs), including my TT900, which has glass on 3 sides (a 65KG beast once completely built out), and neveranottaproblemo....

Years ago, I bought (& immediately returned) a few of the cheaper built ones too, so there's that :D

I got the inner door on my 7000D to close by spreading the cables out. But to be fair it would make no difference if i remove it.

Eh, glass and water... Two things I can live without around my electronics.

conductivity of tap water is around 400µS my water is at about 7µS, so even if it it did leak it would cause no shorting, just a bit of a mess.
