I wish a 4080ti existed might not have had to go 4090.
Don't they?
Granted, I haven't personally seen one yet, but I thought they were out there already?

EDIT: Ok, my bad. I thought they were out. Sorry about that.

It gets hard to keep track of after a bit.. no worries :)

They really didn't leave enough space for one if they say charged 1399 for it it would essentially kill the 4080 unless they dropped it's price to 999 which let's be real Nvidia has no interest in doing. So as it stands 1100-1400-1600 also unless it basically performs within 10% of the 4090 why would you buy it lol.

Now if we where still in a crypto boom sure.

I thought that was their plan? $1100 for the 4080 and $1250 for the 4080ti? I know I read that somewhere. Did NVidia change their minds?

I think it was just rumors the only card that was legit suppose to happen was the 4090ti but they canceled it to focus on AI. Maybe the 4080ti suffered the same fate just in a more quiet fashion.

Fair enough. It could be possible that they're also sidelining the 4000 series because they want to focus on the 5000 series. They've done that before.

I think if they did a refresh it would be early next year anyways. Word on the streets is the 5000 series won't launch till early 2025 also due to them focusing on AI but only time will tell.

Yep, I did read rumors of the possibility of 4000 Super series. But if AMD brings nothing new to the table (7x5x refresh?), I can't see why'd NVIDIA bother.

Well.. if they built the 4000 series with AI, then 5000 series should be pretty intense..

I would go for the flagship right off the hop with that guy.

Well rumors are that we will get a 8700XT/8800XT at most that might be slightly better than the 7900XTX/7900XT in raster with some other generational improvements to efficiency and maybe RT performance.

Which isn't going to put any pressure on Nvidia to have anything out to compete with it they can literally just drop prices of the current lineup in that scenario.

Remember I said anything above a 4060Ti outprices my budget? Mate, for reference a 4090 here costs at least some R$10500, which is 8 times the minimum wage. A 4070Ti goes for 5300, that's 4. The 7900XT? 5800 (nope, price cuts don't arrive here). Divide those values by 5 to get an approximate value in US dollars.
How the heck am I supposed to upgrade (and I mean UPGRADE) from my 3070, even if I could still sell it for around 2000?

Yeah, I actually forgot to take a photo of the block + pcb complete by itself. I must have gotten too excited to install it.

I took one of the naked pcb with the memory pads installed (like lacy lingerie) if your keen, but that's about it : (

I ought to get something like that, a nightstand-like table.

I don't want my tower sitting at the the floor, but not at table height either.

I suppose the ideal would be that the top of tower reaches table height, like a pseudo extension of the table.

My pc, which never turned off because I use it for seeding, has finally accumulated dust can be blasted off with electric duster. There isn't enough dust for it to clump in to actual dust bunnies though.

As a part of my annual partial lazy air dusting teardown I bought some upgrades from Prime Day and some discounts from local stores because of Prime Day because ssds and ram are cheap as hell right now.

List of upgrades are:

- 970 Evo Plus 2tb [$130 Maple bucks] (Need to replace my WD Sata ssd, browsing my music collection takes forever to load)
- Crucial P3 Plus 4tb [$250 Maple bucks] (Wanted a dedicated game drive, I already have another 4tb ssd but I didn't want to share space with games)
- 96gb of DDR4 3600 CL18 ram [$190 Maple bucks] (Had 16x2 modules already, I figured might as well max it out since DDR4 has reached it peak and I intend to stay on this platform for another 3-4 years)
- "Canada Computer" Brand cable extensions [$65 Maple bucks] (An aesthetic upgrade, god knows why I waited this long to get cable extensions, the EVGA G3 850 doesn't exactly come with nice cables)

Cable management was hard enough given that this psu comes with a lot of cables and that I'm running 3 Sata drives. Part of the reason why I wanted to large on my ssd storage - so that all my storage is mobo mounted.

You'd think that a large (it's considered large, right?) case like the Meshify 2 would have enough cable management room - well it does still for this case - to comfortably hold all cables you'd see on a high wattage psu meant for the SLI/Crossfire days.

Worth the effort however, came out looking nice.

If you look at the close up of the pictures of the ram, you'll see that the new 32x2 modules (the one closest to the cpu cooler) are slightly cooler in color. Not gonna bother returning/exchanging it for that "defect"; not worth the time and effort to do so.

Don't want to jinx myself, but the new RAM appears to be stable.

Will be on the lookout for 4TB NVMe deals come Black Friday, but other than that I'm done putting money in this thing for at least another year, maybe two.

I'd jump on a C4-SFX deal just for the improved cooling, but given the current run is already sold through I don't see that happening.
