After reading a few Pixel 8 Pro reviews and some first hand accounts I think I'll stick with the 7 Pro for now. Not enough of a step up in performance to justify the cost, similar or slightly worse battery life. I prefer the flat screen, but that's not enough reason on its own.

Love LG's phones, had a bunch of the G series. Heard good things about the V60, think you'll be happy with it.

I use a S21 Ultra, but still don't know why I bought it upon release (was probably itching for a new toy). I was perfectly happy with my S7 and then S10+. I miss the flat screen and pocketable size of the S7; damn thing has fallen out of my pants back/breast pockets more than once. I baby my phones and it sucks that I'm now part of 'scratched-up corner' club.

That said, when somebody asks me to define the word 'phone': Thing that displays the time, plays music/podcasts; an occasional YT vid. Primarily used for text communication or account verification.

The only thing that would make me upgrade is probably if/when Samsung (or whomever) releases a 4k phone with VR support. GearVR was a fun gimmick and one of the few things that to me justified the ever-increasing technology within the devices that I don't really need; I'll likely never run an intensive game on a phone nor do I need the world's greatest camera bc there are other devices I would prefer to use for those things. All I really cared about up until it happened was LDAC support, and that was what...Android 8 (Oreo)?

I wonder how many people are similar. Probably a lot. Curious how the PS4-level phones pan out though, just because it's interesting that we've come this far. Now GenZ will be able to 'retro' game on the go with their primary device.

hw yeah, as i had it for a few weeks (branded tho), but i cant find any UI outside Xperia that i really "like".
its like a "german" sports car, you know the buttons are where they need to be, not randomly placed like on some Italian cars.

sure thing, and even that i prefer a good camera, you dont take those with you all the time (think of getting groceries).
so having a phone with decent cam res/lens/OIS, thats water proof (and shock resistant), is a big plus..

I'm still on a 2017 Lenovo P2, but some apps are already stopping support for it, because it's only Android 7.0. Don't really want to get a new one, as the P2 battery is still holding 5-6 days for my use.

Designed by motorola, no wonder. Motorola make most of the radio/phones for the uk police. The razr 40/ultra are pretty good

would have gotten a M myself, until i saw that most units have the worst "radiation" footprint possible (vs others).

given i havent checked on all the modes, just the ones i was interested in, and lets say, its just better, than having no (smart) phone at all..

I don't even think about phone radiation, there are worse things to worry about. S22 myself, but them Razr 40's are pretty nice looking, better looking than the samsung folders

if it was a minor isse, sure, but having multiple times the amount (exceeding FCC), when there is no need for it,
shows bad engineering, or top floor of the company not interested in their customers health.

enough for me to avoid them.

Most people don't care about their health anyway. I bet only 30% of the population do regular excercise, and over eat, then whine about phone radiation. I look after myself, have a 49 resting heart rate, and don't really care about phone radiation. Is it really something to worry about, or something that might possibly damage you when you are too old to give a hoot.

those arent arguments, for companies to make crappy handsets, just because they can.
chance of brain cancer makes me avoid them, i rather deal with diabetes at 80, than stage IV at 50.

Well i am probably waay fitter than the avg person who should be worrying more about other health problems than radiation from their phones

but companies making phones with 10x higher radiation levels, for no reason or benefit, except that they can.

so as a consumer, i will make my choice and avoid those brands, the same way i doubt you buy food with 10x times
the amount of sodium/saturated fats, when there are products that dont have those levels.

i was a big fan of motorola ever since Nokia went out of the market. I had got the Moto G first gen which was technically made by google.

then i replaced that with a moto G4 pro plus which was done under lenovo. Such a horrible phone. Died after exactly 13 months, i.e. no warranty.
Ever since then all motorola phones have been pretty pathetic, as expected since its all lenovo models.

My moto G is still up and running even after 8 years now.

lenovo ruins everything. Current portable workhorse is a thinkpad and even its powerbutton has gone wrong within a year of barely using it.

and they swapped the ctrl and fn keys. FUCKIN HELL. they added a bios patch to switch those over in software though lol.

I'm daily driving a Honor 9 since February 2018. I will change it for the Fairphone 5 before the end of 2023.

My Honor 9 just got his first app that don't work, it require android 10 and I'm on android 9 since 2019 and last security update was in 2021.
