Owned it for 15 months now, solid phone but the battery drain gets worse as time goes by.

Did you notice the sound bug, sometimes when the loud sound plays (calls, videos), audio output distorts for a second. Really annoying, and it seems like a hardware problem more than a software one.

Can this phone be rooted?

Rooting Xiaomi phones is a pain.

Android 14 update went really well on my Pixel 7.
It's just snappier now, in pretty much everything (minus the optical fingerprint reader, that will always be meh).

Still on my moto g power 2020. Just now its getting to 7 hours of SoT instead of 10 like it used to get.

Maybe I'll replace it next year, but with what? I guess just the moto G stylus 2024, the thinkphone looked good but no headphone jack, an the google phones just cant with the battery life.

I wish we'd get some 6-7000 mah batteries already.

Ive seen a really good deal on a Motorola G54. I was thinking about getting it but software update policy from motorola isnt the best and secondly they are owned by Lenovo who I have a dislike for.

Really a damn good deal though. 8/256GB for $207

It pretty much ticks every box I want from a handset compared to my current Redmi Note 9 Pro/9 Pro Max (which i think has had its last security update this year)

Hadphone jack used to be a no no for me too, but my B&W P7 sound damn good on the S22 with the C to 3.5mm adapter, so not that bothered. Most phones are unfortunatley dropping the 3.5mm jack now.

Neither - USB-C is carrying the analog signal.

Recently I've inherited an S20 from my younger brother and over the past week or so I've been contemplating the idea of jumping off my Poco F3 for good.
Got really tired of proximity sensor issues(it's still their infamous "virtual" sensor), and constant glitches when the weather gets too hot or humid (screen unlocks and does weird $#!t even though I have a fingerprint unlock active).
The only thing that held me back is a bigger battery and a dedicated macro camera, but after tinkering with S20 for awhile I think the switch is worth all these tradeoffs.

Nah, only stupid overpriced flagships. moto Gs still have them, and will hopefully keep them. Hell, they can fit a stylus AND a headphone jack in with a 5000 mah battery, so all those BS excuses of the past are confirmed to be just that.

Since you cant charge and use audio at the same time (yes those adapters exist, and in my experience they are SEVERELY hit or miss on both quality and phone compatibility) I will stand by my jacks. My truck and home audio are not bluetooth and likely never will be.

S20 is not a bad phone imo, maybe worth the switch

My three year old Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is still performing brilliantly with excellent battery life, so any spare cash I have would go to a new GPU.
I never missed the audio jack because I rarely use my phone for music, but I would miss the SD card slot. Although the S23 Ultra and many others come with 512GB or more, so it wouldn't be such a big deal.
