Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
well, it worked ... although i forgot i had a Pro license of Aomei Backupper, i could have done it with that and the 2 NVMe enclosure

instead of creating a separate partition i just extended the main partition to fill up the remaining free space ...

got a nice surprise ... i did not know that STEAM would use local network to transfer game at 500-600 Mbps between my desktop and the Ally ... that's convenient  (even if i got an upgrade from my ISP it's still "only 150Mbps  )

not a recent recent but i still recently (or somewhat recently ) bought that one 6 day ago (4 minute play is : listening to the main theme and grinning like a little kid at Xmas  )

No that’s correct. It’s also supposed to do while in Standby and I even caught the green light flashing tho I’ve never noticed iif it stopped it from the regular cycle. But I assure every 4 hours of use requires a Pixel Refresh. I’ll try to remember time it. I really don’t mind if it’s keeping the panel in proper condition. The real problem is alwys has the best timing. Last night it came on when I was driving at night online with my buddy in ATS. He also has one and the one who sold me on it.
I mean maintenance is just normal I’d rather do it than not. Obviously I skipped that one while I was driving but wait for it to go away wasn’t ideal because it wasn’t like I could have reached forward and press cancel. I’ll go force one amd time it for you. ;)
Edit: @Space Lynx it took about 6 minutes
Honestly that sounds odd to me. Maybe the tech has changed, but I barely ever have to do a pixel refresh. Think I've done a total of 10 over like 3 years. But I have a B9 so...

That sounds really annoying. Is it a forced refresh every 4 hours - meaning it may happen mid-game? Even a popup reminder alert could screw up a game if it removes focus. Having to occasionally remove the power to get it to restart makes it even worse. I've heard the performance is amazing, but still...
I honestly do not think that is normal. But I also doubt it is forced.

For some reason the 2-pack of Anker 6ft USB-A to C cables were cheaper than 3-ft, so 6-ft it was. Riveting, I know.

Believe it cost less than sale price currently. Family member considered this cheap entertainment while they trudged off to work during my visit.

Oddly enough there was bottles of Old Rasputin involved in this playthrough. Are you psychic? :p

I have a pair of KZ's ES3 for some good years now, and I only had to get a new cable for them. Great sound for a great price then, and still going strong when I need them.
i guess ~16$ for that ... i can go for it ... 498 OCC silver plated core from KZ also ... carbon? aluminium? yeah ... and since i got the PR2 at discounted price, getting that will not cost me much more in total than the non discounted price :)

Yeah on the B9 the Pixel Refresh doesn't run on a timer like that, only on shutoff.

Seems like a lot of light, are they noisy?
They are noisy above 1200rpm, but they move good amount of air. 1000~ rpm seems like a efficient point for noise & airflow and that's where I keep them for now.
7 fans and a led strip is a little bit much especially in a dark room. But it's alright when the light is on. It's probably looks more bright in the pictures. Thankfully turning off the leds is very easy with case's controller, not using any software is a plus for me. At worst case, I might just plug off some of the fans rgbs (most likely cpu cooler's).
So far, pretty satisfied with the purchase. They are really cheap like almost all thermalright products and they work.

The Amp sounds great. All looks ok inside too, nothing burnt, though i did get a service manual, so am going to make sure the bias on both channels is running at 13mv like it should be. It's not been particularly looked after, but it runs ok, and i did get the remote. It sounds good via USB from my PC too. Is great for 50 quid.

This might actually arrive tomorrow I want Avatar and it looks like $99 will be the price going forward for AAA. That means I will get this card for $269 once everything is worked out. They are selling fast at Canada Computers but they do not carry As Rock cards

My new monitor arrived. It's a Dell S3422DWG.

20231115_161321_HDR.jpg

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I'll be keeping it.

It's a 3440x1440 144Hz VA monitor that supposedly has FreeSync Premium Pro.

I checked it for dead pixels and didn't find any. The bump in refresh-rate is noticeable over my previous 100Hz monitor.

Unfortunately, FreeSync on this monitor has a glaring issue that frankly should be unacceptable.

Whenever the framerate drops below a certain point, I get a noticable flicker. It seems to be worse on the left half of the screen.

I loaded up Saints Row 2 (it's unstable framerate really shows this issue) and filmed it at 240 FPS to capture it. I wanted to upload the raw videos here, but I guess that isn't allowed.

Fortunately the issue is still visible if I upload to YouTube.

FreeSync On (Epilepsy Warning: Flickering)

FreeSync Off

So far, it's completely fine with FreeSync disabled. But better FreeSync support is one of the reasons I wanted to upgrade my monitor.

So I'm not sure if I should keep it or return it.

Does a different/newer driver exist? Or firmware update?

My new monitor arrived. It's a Dell S3422DWG.

So I'm not sure if I should keep it or return it.

yeah but wallpaper link?

Does a different/newer driver exist? Or firmware update?

I'll try the driver on Dell's site. I had read that driver makes the issue worse/doesn't fix it, but I might as well try it.

yeah but wallpaper link?

I made it with an image I found on Wikipedia. It's the IO die from an AMD EPYC Rome CPU.

EDIT: Nope, the driver doesn't fix the issue.

Most recent purchase: ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 16 laptop (19-13980HX + RTX-4080). Had it for a couple of months. Loving it.

I have researched gaming laptops extensively over the years, and I can say there are only two laptops I would ever consider buying (if I were rich), HID Evolution custom laptop and he Asus SCAR line, you chose very well. Does that thing have a mini-LED screen by any chance? what the specs of the display? I am curious
