We've gathered some highlights below, listing great titles new and old, but it's just a taste of the range of games that you can buy this Black Friday. Enjoy!

Epic Games Store Black Friday Event 2023 Buyer's Guide

Alan Wake 2
A return to Remedy's story about stories, twisting their literal literary thriller into a survival horror. Alan has been trapped in a limbo of his own making for 13 years; meanwhile, FBI agent Saga Anderson is investigating a series of murders in the real world. Play as both characters, fighting to release Alan and uncover the secrets of Bright Falls.

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria
Dig deep. Dig greedily. The co-operative survival game, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, lets players delve as dwarves into the ancient Mines of Moria, a dreadful place where the evils of Middle-earth still lurk. Set-up a base and mine for resources in the mountain, uncovering the ancient secrets and battling the Orcs and Goblins who have settled down into the darkness.

Witchfire
A brutal, compelling roguelite first-person shooter, where you're the one weapon the Vatican has against evil: a sinner turned into a gun-toting, magic blasting witch hunter. Take on the legions of wraiths and ghouls, blasting the hordes and absorbing their Witchfire. It's a lively world, changing according to your progress, as the Witch of the Black Sea crafts ever more deadly scenarios to delay your progress.

Payday 3
Payday 3 takes the co-operative crime series to new heists. The game is a smash (and grab), where players raid vaults, art dealers, and more for a share of the wealth. Band together to take out security systems, bag the loot, and get out. Cause too much chaos, and you'll set off a series of battles against the police.

Lords of the Fallen
Lords of the Fallen is a remarkable soulslike-adding new mechanics to the staples of the genre. Big, bad bosses roam the land, and deft, accurate combat mechanics require mastering to get anywhere. But the land of Mournstead has a shadow realm, creating a dual-reality that players must switch between to progress. It's a great twist.

Ghostrunner II
A sharp, skill-based battle though a dystopian world, where you spring headlong into action. The cyber-ninja game is full of platforms and short, snappy battles where one hit is enough to take down an enemy, but it's also the same for you. One hit will take you out.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Bundle
Cyberpunk 2077's DLC and 2.0 upgrade rewrote the game, bringing more people back to Night City with reworked tech, weapons, driving, police and more. Phantom Liberty adds a new area called Dogtown, where the player must take V into the heart of an insurrection and act like a cool spy.

Assassin's Creed Mirage Deluxe Edition is 20% off
The latest Assassin's Creed is a throwback to the series' beginnings. The Baghdad based Basim is a proto-assassin, investigating various troubles and often solving problems with the point of his blade. There's more focus on stealth and cunning than the recent sprawling titles, but there's plenty to do, see, and, of course, stab.

Sonic Superstars is 30% off
Sonic Superstars is a speedy return to 2D platforming for Sega's blue blur. Inspired by the loops and leaps of the console age games, the newest game brings a lot of playful polish to the classic design. If you're a new player or a fan of the series, it's a great game to grab.

The Crew: Motorfest Gold Edition is 40% off
The Crew: Motorfest is a festival for car enthusiasts. They gather together on the island of O'ahu, with 600+ plus vehicles to pick from. Everything from rally cars, monster trucks, and even boats and planes are available for players to enjoy, and the Hawaiian open world is a gorgeous, vast island to explore.

I really dont get the Epic store, I want it to succeed but man...how do they have nobody there that would just make it a fun enviroment to be?
Steam you start up and look around and talk to friends etc without ever touching a game, Epic store feels so baren and lifeless, not a place you want to "hang out"

and its not like its hard to change that....which makes me respect their "hardships" less and less, they are just not putting in the simple work it requires....

Yeah, sorry epic, but I am still not buying, your money was better spent making your store and launcher not a terrible experience to use, instead of buying exclusivity that actively drove people away, rather than bringing them in, as you had hoped, but instead you have a launcher that is purely a storefront, barely functional even at doing that, is slow to launch games, and also a pissed off target audience, all the while not even devs are fully on your side.

They simply spent the money in the wrong place, because they forgot that they are not in the console industry, so it didn't really work out like they thought it would, while also having your CEO give the company the worst reputation possible thanks to his unhinged fights on twitter. Good entertainment

Sweeney, you're an idiot at this point.

Stop being a blind twat and fix your damn store. Faith in your storefront is sub zero now, which means no buy, even if its practically free. Holy shit man, how stupid can you get.
Heck, did you miss the simple fact Valve is practically selling Steam right now to its customers? People want to be there, for the simple fact EGS lacks all the things Steam does have - and did have ever since EGS exists. Its not like there's a moving target here. Its just sitting there, showing what's what and raking in dollars with budget titles, for nearly two goddamn decades now.

It's not a sale, not an event, certainly produced nothing listed under events on the EGS store page. There are always ongoing (non)events!

Wow, a coupon.

he's busy fighting the macrogoogcrappleshit mob cartel
tbh, that's a better investment of time & money, they're incapable of creating an actual, useable piece of software/ecosystem anyways
so just let problems fight themselves, and reap the benefits

The only reason to get Epic is the free Games. STeam has the best sales, GOG is the best platform and Green Man Gaming has Starfield for $66 on sale. but they had HZD for $13.99 earlier. There are some sweet deals so look around. This is one of the best times to add to your library. Torchlight 2 is like $3 on Steam and that is one of the best ARPGs period.

I'm very confused that people seem to want more Steam in their lives. What's wrong with a game store that is just a game store? My only problem with Epic is that you have to either redownload the games or do this annoying thing if you reinstall Windows. It's honestly the main reason why I'm not keen on reinstalling even though I probably should. Other than that I really don't get the hate. "Fun environment to be"? Isn't that what the games are supposed to provide?

Bought yesterday Alan Wake 2 - thought if it's not on sale already, it rather won't be, especially given that it being Epic's exclusive, well recieved and new... Just 1h 8min later damn game was 33% discounted - pure classic of buying games online :] Luckily I played it only a little more than one hour, run it mostly to check how great this game looks with all of eye candy and Path Tracing and see how it impresses me being out of impressively path-traced Cyberpunk finished few ours earlier. I really liked that refund process and buying the game again with 33%-off took just one minute and it mostly due to me checking banking app on my phone - after I decided to refund money was back on my bank account in just few secounds (original payment method was the same fast polish BLIK), buying it again took another few secounds, usual with buying games online and from the start to end there was no need of uinstalling the game. Maybe somebody in the same situation reads it ;) BTW it was my first time refunding the game, so I'm curious if it works the same well anywhere else.

Me too, i only have epic for the free games.
A MAJOR point is that epic here has no regional pricing to speak off, even with steam fucking us up with their new change in regional pricing epic is still more expensive.
And at "street" price, i'd rather go for GOG before epic or steam.

Funny you mention torchlight 2, i finished it for the first time yesterday with my brother hahaha, i've had it since forever

Well maybe but if the enviroment is not inviting, then you wont visit it, unlike steam which puts effort in presentation and events and forums and guides and friends list and profiles etc etc etc.
Steam you just start up and you happen to maybe see a new product you are interested in, why would you ever start up EGS when its just not a fun place to be? and then you wont buy games there either.

also just to be clear, I dont much care for Steam these days either, they are far too corporate nowadays, far from the game developing pioneers of yor, CS2 is pretty cool I guess but overall....
Them just giving up and letting their platform get flooded with absolute garbage and/or porn....we still dont have a tag to exclude porn, you can exclude Mature Content and Nudity but then you also wont see The Witcher or Cyberpunk or many other games so that isnt a solution, I need the ability to lock out porn and I want them to get off their asses and make a new source engine and some new games again.
(oh and their extremely pathetic cowering for Nintendo with the emulator was/is preeeeeetty bad)

I'm probably the weird one, but why would I start up Steam if not to play a specific game or buy a specific game? I just don't get the "fun" aspect of it. The games are the fun part, Steam is not.

Hi,
Game shortcuts open the game "if you're lucky that is" steam this is not automatic though if you have ie11 turned off in windows features lol
Think steam games are way overrated & overpriced personally and terribly bloated app and the dpi it uses is complete shit.

The most annoying thing about epic is having to redownload games when reinstalling windows. You don't have to with steam.

Personally I don't treat game 'launchers' as a social thing/platform and I have a Steam account since the launch day of Half Life 2.
Don't care about the steam forums or anything like that and in that regard EPIC is all the same to me with its non existing forum, etc. 'even if it had one I wouldn't care'
Start up the damned launcher then the game I'm playing and thats about it. 'I also don't care about achievements lists or whatever'

Tbh I've bought more games on EPIC in the past years than on Steam and I've had zero issues there so far.
Tho I generally don't care about this which launcher/game store is the best argument, I just buy my games where its the cheapest at the time of my interest and call it a day.

I started using Steam because I was forced to when the WON servers shut down and it was also required to play my physical copy of HL2. Not because it was a fun place to hang out.

I wouldn’t even accept a game for free from them. Im all for competition, but this is one company/service I will always hope crashes and burns. Paid exclusivity is an absolute horrible practice for a PC gaming platform. DIAF epic games store.

I believe a common reason for not being willing to go to other game launchers is because they are not as convenient as steam, either because that's where their game library is already, or things like linux support and proton, steam input, some things that aren't "fun" yet probably essential to many (Hell, I am constantly considering linux, so if I do end up going linux then the EGS is just completely off the table already).
That, or epic pissed you off when they decided to compete via timed exclusivity, which tbh is not the way to go when it comes to competition.

I also recall complaints about the speed of the launcher itself, see here this video from alex battaglia of DF: https://x.com/Dachsjaeger/status/1721858886448095707?s=20
*note that some say that alex's egs install was a bit borked, but alex is also on a top of the line computer, so no clue there.

I wouldn't have a problem buying from the EGS if epic hadn't been as anti consumer in the beginning, and instead worked on ironing out the technical issues that they do have rather than simply buying up exclusivity without trying to improve the storefront itself and how it works.
I remember the time that I tried to use the EGS not being the best, it didn't feel that functional when trying to download UE5 related things.

In other words: Womp womp

Exactly but peoples forgot things easily theses days...
People haven't "forgot" anything. They just have the capacity to realize that was almost 20 years ago and standards for digital distribution and online platforms have changed dramatically since then. The "b-but Steam was bad in 2004!!!" argument for cutting Epic some slack has never held even a drop of water. You don't get to launch a service and then ask people for a decade or two of patience. Steam succeeded because, despite its flaws, it was still the best show in town at the time. The Epic Games Store isn't even in the same league as its primary competition.

There is another post that details the other glaring issue with Epic and all of those free Games. I will say this do not get Epic unless you have 2 or even 3 drives.

Torchlight2 was better than Torchlight and that was a Diablo 2 light for me. They really messed Torchlight 3 too. In some ways it feels like Dawn of War 3 and we know what that was

That is correct. Since we are talking about narrative the best time for Epic and when they gained the most traction was the Xmas period of last year. When they gave us AA and AAA Games everyday during the holidays. Of course there is also the narrative of what happened after. AMD launched AM5 and Intel released Z690 and Z790, with those releases came fresh installs. That is where the ugly truth of Epic comes to bite you in the butt and the narrative swung back heavily in the favour of Steam and GOG. As we are talking about narrative Epic focuses on issues that we could care less about as one of the things that Steam had to give us was complete control of our Digital library to make us not punish them for the loss of real products. I know times have changed but it is still much better to do 2 clicks to recover TBs of Games than to face the prospect of having to redownload or do real work for no pay on your PC to get things back.

Now we have this Black Friday effort that cannot even compete with Green Man Gaming or Fanatical. I used to think that these platforms were inert but it is some of the hypocrisy that Epic employs against us as well. How the hell can Epic be seamless with GOG Galaxy but not the PC it is installed on?

I don't even recall playing torchlight 1, and from what i've seen/read, torchlight 3 was an absolute trash of a "mobile" port with development hell included.

¿what do you mean by I will say this do not get Epic unless you have 2 or even 3 drives."?
