Playing a lot of AC: Origins lately.

No idea how close to 100% I'll get before completing the main story line. Still had 1/3 the map obscured last night before realizing I was close to max level. 3-5 regions were only going to have enemies further from offering any challenge. If Ubisoft deserves their reputation everything remaining will be populated with damage sponges that force you into exploring what lies behind the door to paid content.

OK, this was the only screenshot I took in the last week or so.

This modeling is not representative of the known effects of gravity or heavy labors in what is basically a pit for mining highly concentrated lime. Literally everyone is bent from dehydration and half dead with the effects on their skin. Then you start a mission and suddenly these apparitions substantially closer to perfection are strutting around.

Someone took their demanding historical research in, shall we say, other thoroughly modern directions than rest of their team. :wtf:

Worth the $70 or $110 price tag?
I paid €345 for it and got a free processor! :D
So yeah, it plays great and is very smooth after some tweaking oc. The sounds of the forest are indeed amazing as many reviewers noted. The story is, well, a story but the gameplay is solid so far.

It’s pretty brutal. 3440x1440 at mostly maxed settings I’m seeing 90’s in the first outside area with a 4090.

It’s another AMD sponsored title so no DLSS frame gen, only FSR3.

The game looks amazing. I did one month sub of Ubi+ so I could try this, Mirage, and The Crew Motorfest.

It is the same for me. The Game runs super smooth though. I actually love just running around discovering things. I ran into a pack of the Wolves equivalent already.

Picked up Cod4 MW Remastered recently on sale, I still play the OG one from time to time, one of my favorite arcade linear FPS's from the mid 2000's. Running MW remastered at 4K on my 3060ti is a little bit much for it, but a little fine tuning, got it looking and running beautifully. I picked it up with CoD IW as I'd never tried it, but a friend really implored me for it to scratch my sci-fi fps itch. So we shall see once I get to it. Got MW2 SP RM on sale on Blizzard to do after I finish MW.

I plan to pick up MGSV soon as well, never played that but heard mostly good things about the gameplay at least, and awaiting better support for 1,2,3 remasters, sounds like they're kind of a mess atm. And I still have GR Wildlands and Breakpoint to play through, not sure if I'll do coop or just solo them TBH. So, plenty of FPS action to line up where I have time, which this all will probably last me years if I stuck with them. lol. But figure once I get my COD Arcade FPS desires outta my system, I'll step up to GR, then snag MGSV and that's probably as far as I'll go. Someone brought up Splinter Cell the other day in convos and man do I miss that game...Chaos Theory and MGS2 were some of my favorites back then.

Beyond that, restarted HW:RM as it'd been a while and seeing the announcement stuff for HW3 has be beyond stoked. Community patch FTW. Beyond losing skill as I get older and play games less frequently, and some of the changes they made. But I still love these games, OG, Remastered, and I'm eagerly anticipating 3. But I figure its a good time to restart the series and give it a good playthru for old times sake, get ready for the next one...plenty of time, especially if I wait for a sale. :)

Be careful, you might end up going down the @tabascosauz route...

Next thing you know you are buying flight sticks and throttles.

I'm trying to find a guy in Sweden who basically recreated a functioning cockpit, complete with original parts, sourced from the local airbase (with permission of course)... It was awhile ago though, and I don't have the magazine with the article.

Nah just an Xbox controller for now, still playing with the discovery flights, and took the F14 for the low altitude missions, I am no where near his level.. but I do find it peaceful :)

Back on topic,

I am playing some more Youtube. Kinda burnt out on gaming so taking a short break. Watching others play can be just as fun, and easier to fit into a schedule.

if I could play this game without the crazy swings in fps/stutters I think I would really like it. Really breaks my immersion when I ride the camel around and my fps is swinging wildly, AC Valhalla on the other hand is smooth as butter and no dips at all.

Been awhile since I rode through blank desert. Overall I see 58 fps most of the time without large swings.
Surprisingly it runs well on my system after sorting out Nvidia control panel settings with the in-game ones.

Currently I am replaying the original Ezio trilogy which runs natively 165hz at 165 fps max settings and no dips, its a sight to behold, old games on modern hardware are 10/10, especially when no fps cap is involved.

Was thinking about loading either I or II today kicking off a run through Revelations. Should be interesting how long that takes to get set up and functional on a 4K tv.

Unity/Syndicate were a breeze and look great at their max resolution and I think medium settings. Anyways, I'm saving them for the last two I play before newest three titles.

Thanks to everyone for being adults. SL (not involving him in my decision) properly considered the context of breaking immersion.

There is a near nil chance of further development on this or any other theme falling outside expected conduct. However, should this exploration of what forms avoiding offending anyone in a game took incur further review at any point. I fully accept responsibility for this solitary act conducted with unerring timing.

In the sincere hopes it vented pressures directly preceding what appears to be a lengthy compartmentalization. It becomes increasingly apparent preservation of sites you wish to continue prospering will require using the toilet beforehand.

that's exactly what I am doing right now and its a blast. pro tip, install the extended xbox controller feature in steam settings, then add the old ac 1 and 2 games as non-steam games (if you own these games in ubisoft app like I do) then go to controller and rebind a few of the controles, like the right trigger moves camera right... rebind that to the right analog stick, etc) after that just change graphics settings. you can also edit the .ini file to take multisampling from 1/3 to 3/3 in original AC and it looks gorgeous fully maxed out at 1440p 165hz 165 fps.

Thanks, I've been poking around looking at solutions to problems I might encounter. The first one I didn't expect was how to get the DVD past what must be a theftproof locking spindle.

Point of buying EU market physical copies was to avoid active reliance on Steam or Ubisoft Connect. The latter might actually provide some patches depending on how navigating online registration of Uplay games to it goes. Fingers crossed Xbox 360 controller is what they actively designed PC versions towards.

doubtful, its probably the same version you get online... which means no native xbox support and you will still have to add the ,exe launcher as a non-steam game in the steam library, then rebind the controllers in the in-game settings as i did, but once all that is done it runs flawless. hopefully i am wrong and you get lucky though haha

At the very last mission in Halo Infinite (Silent Auditorium), will finish that tonight and onto Spiderman or Uncharted.
Also Forza is sprinkled in here and there, trying not to blow through all the events too fast.

So after a mental breakdown over trying the 3 worst games from 2023 and self torture going throw them.

I desided to try Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

2 screenshot from the game. 4K ultra settings native. No resolution scale/DLSS/FSR or frame generation used. screenshots are from native running and making my poor RTX 4090 sweat. Enviroment looks pretty sweet in 4K native resolution.

2 screenshot from the game. 4K ultra settings native. No resolution scale or frame generation used. screenshots are from native running and making my poor RTX 4090 sweat. Enviroment looks pretty sweet in 4K native resolution.

I have watched the two movies and like them, som desided to try the game as well. I have only played like 1 hour. But seems to run smoofh and no lag.
Feels to run better than so much else crap that has come out the last couple of years at lauch.
But can yet say about long time play crashes.

But yes, the enviroment looks pretty good. It gave me that rare crysis wow effect like for real. I really like when games look good.

Had been doing BG3, for a small number of weeks, and then decided to poke at Startfield: haven't looked back since 11/11.. a little disappointing to see the same buildings and mobs over and over on planet after planet (literally), but I did get a kick last night. I ran to a landing ship, and discovered the landing party fighting the local wildlife. I killed one, moved to the landing bay and boarded.

Starfield allows you to capture most ships if you can kill the crew before it goes airborne (I've taken two skydiving tours so far: the game will drop you out the bottom of a ship if it lifts with you onboard ). I boarded, scrambled up the first ladder, cleared all the crew inside and took a look at the ship itself from the cockpit (you can't sit in the pilot's seat if you haven't killed everyone). It's a duplicate of one I already have, and since I'm sitting at 9/10 ships, I didn't want to waste my empty spot on a lower end dupe. So, disembarked, killed the landing crew, and as I'm killing, the ship takes off again. :confused:o_O I laugh, kill the rest and move on.

A couple of hours later, I launch into orbit, and notice a ship right near me, allowing the "Board" option. Fine, I'll play your silly game; I board it. There's no gravity, and I float thru the ship. All of the crew is dead, and looted, and realize this is the same ship I boarded earlier. I find 3 "new" crew-members with loot, and decide the game "generated" a crew, but they weren't enough to manage the ship, blew the engines and life support, and died :roll:.

Had my moment of schadenfreude and moved on haha.

starfield would be much cooler if it had more variety of enemies, even ships. like the ship you stole from that crew, like it would be neat just to have a bit more variety and uniqueness i think. for a game that was developed as long as this one was, its just eh from me
