The guy has made very clear he does not want a job, only to commit cybercrime. He was so obsessed with it he hacked GTA with a fireTV stick and a cellphone at his hotel WHILE awaiting trial for the nvidia hack.
As an Autistic person also, his sentence was appropriate. He has mental health needs and he is absolutely a danger to society in his present state. This was the only answer.
I'd see this in a movie and yell at the TV calling it unrealistic.
It does show how obsessed he was though. He did this on bail, while awaiting trial for the same crime, with officers literally right outside. It also illustrates how dangerous his skills combined with lack of ethics is.
