Buggy installation my hairy bum. I've never seen such a thing once. You're complaining about something few people care about. "Cloud saves" are not that useful to most players anywhere, and GOG players? Forget about it.
You can be a smart-alec all you want, doesn't change the fact that your problem is with ONE feature of ONE game.
Can't disagree with that, but you need to be sure the problem is not with your system/configuration before blaming an entire platform. I've got StarDew Valley on GOG. I'm going to give this a try and see what happens..
I've never been robbed, therefore people aren't robbed.
Cloud saves are HYPER useful, even for Gog players. See the Syncing files between computers thing. You may not find it useful, lots of people do.
What can I do to make sure Gog doesn't overwrite new files on one computer with old files from a different computer, without prompting? I started it on the desktop, it synced and launched, and that syncing meant it had now replaced the new file in the cload with the old file on the desktop. Then I checked the laptop, and Gog synced the laptop with the cloud, meaning it replaced the new file on the laptop with the old file in the cloud. Then I replaced the save file with the save.old file, and THEN the desktop asked which file I should use. So there is a prompt, but the first time it didn't appear, on either computers. It just synced.
Bugs happen. But Gog Galaxy has been the buggiest one for me, by a wide margin. Steam and Epic just works. Galaxy works now actually, but I'm very wary of it.
