Oh no, even 1 is too much more for me. But I have to say I kinda dig the lcd screen glass panel mods like this

But setting up is PITA and I wouldnt want it as a extra screen, so have to use Raspberry PI or something. I just cant make it worth it just for the looks and possible sensor panel application.
I was going to do that with my current build, but ran out of space in the case to mount the control board for the LCD.

Well I just can't leave well enough alone so I just had to retrofit my Hyper 212+ to AM4. I think I'll actually stick with this one, does a good job with the 5600 and it's pretty quiet.

New case, the Phanteks p500a. Decent case for the money and no fans, which means I wont be throwing any out, lol.
Intel 12700k 5.2/4.0, thermalright bracket, CoolerMaster ml 280 with Noctua Redux fans and those fans throughout the case. ASRock z690 Stl Lgd with 64gb of Samsung bdie at 3600/cas 14, Optane 900p storage x 2(OS/apps and scratch/cache disk) and SKHynix pcie 4 NVME. Intel ARC 750 gpu and igpu. Seasonic plat power supply with Cable mod custom cables. Still working on the color of the LED strips... and trying to find another controller for them. I use it primarily for editing videos and photos.

Well I finally got around to changing my coolant which also meant changing my tubing(I used 35% vinegar
last time amd the tubing went cloudy, lesson learned)
you’ll notice there’s a section of the the original TT tubing for my return Thankfully I had it. All the original fittings and connections are barbed so just a PITA. Well the return fitting from the rad has a slightly smaller OD than tubing and as you can see it’s one tight ass bend which the clear tubing would pull loose from the OG fitting. so OG fittin gets OG tubing and problem solved aestheticsbe damned I need a loop that can take a little knocking around
as for RGB I was trying to go ”Stealth“ amd just have the logo and tiny bit on the bottom of the chipset HS but gave up fighting to keepimg the RAM off which would turn back to rainbo puke if I shut it down…

I got a little fed up with the arctic freezer pump spinning up & down, so I switched back to the Noctua NH-D15 but now with the Arctic fans.

I would like to say that temps improved but honestly? I don't see much difference temperature wise between this and DR4. At least when it comes to performance and acceptable noise level. Other than that it no longer dips when running CPU-Z stress test so I guess it can hold boost better.

How are the bench scores, preferably something like Cinebench compared to DR4? DR4 is still a good cooler but maybe it just wasnt boosting as high due to temps as you said. So you wouldnt see an immediate improvement on temps but you should get higher performance in return.

I've had very good results with NF-A12s on my PA-120 (replaced my U12A, but kept the fans).
Nice and quiet @ 1700rpm and 10c improvement in my max temps VS running them full blast on the old HSF.

I buy a new case for my main PC, and old case goes to my retro gaming PC.

Before, Tecware Nexus M too small for comfort and near zero place to route cable and to put two 3.5in HDD. Just look how 'big' the CPU heatsink inside the case.
before.jpg

New case is Cougar MX440 Mesh RGB. I got it for cheap I don't like fancy light but eh its there. Cable is a mess I'm too lazy to do proper cable management. Putting M-ATX case in ATX case means some of the cables like USB header and front panel left hanging in the middle.
after.jpg

The light isnt bad so I leave it at that
led.jpg

And this is my Pentium 4 retro gaming PC and its old casing. NZXT Phantom I think. Its a mess, the feet is broken and top panel is missing.
old.jpg

Now the new old case. Much better. And I'm envy I can do way better cable management here than my main PC since it only have one 2.5in HDD and nothing else. Think this is what people called 'reverse sleeper PC' as it have new case with old hardware  I'm happy with how it looks.

Big oof on cable management, like you said, but alot of older cases didnt include cable management as a thing. So it does take a lot of time and patience to get them to look good. It really comes down to if you are satisfied with it.

Grats on the upgrade...

Here's mine sans water loop, i must admit, it's nice been able to leave it on and not have to worry about it, which even with my safety measures with the loop, i always did. I might not really need the massive 7000D airflow now without the loop though.

only thing new was the GPU in OCtober last year, pretty happy with it still and dont feel a need to upgrade platform as yet.

@FreedomEclipse @stinger608 - since you asked:
Current setup is listed in specs

Switching from Dark Rock 4 to Phantom Spirit 120 SE:

Temperature wise it's maybe 1 or 2 degree difference between DR4 and PS120 SE under normal operation. Dark rock 4 managed pretty much identical temps while being quieter due to lower max RPM and way quieter fans. With DR4 I kept the fan at 70% (ca. 850 RPM) at idle (below 55C) and 100% at load (70C) anything between that would have the speed adjusted by FanControl based on the Tcore. With PS120 SE I keep it at 50% until 60C and 100% at 70C - I'm still trying to figure out optimal settings to avoid audible ramps. When playing Squad I hover at around 57-62C.

Like I mentioned before when I swapped PS120 SE stock fans to XPG Vento Pro's I saw an increase in temperatures for some odd reason (+4C vs stock fans) - Cinebench R23 multi temps were around 86C with fans blasting at 100%. R23 scores with stock fans are nearly identical to those using DR4, temperature peaks at 81C. Scores are within run to run variance (around 14800 with 122/82/124 power limits).

Idle temps are hovering around 33-35C, nowhere near what other people claim to see but I'm running my case fans at around 600 rpm at the front to keep the system whisper quiet when not gaming. 750 rpm at the back when GPU temp is below 65C, then it ramps to around 930 rpm. Sure I can drop idle temps to 26C but that's with balcony door open and near 0 temps outside but who in their right would do that?

I also tested my MX-5 vs the FT7 paste that came with the cooler but temps were pretty much identical (82C with MX-5 vs 81C with FT7 when running 10 min R23 multi). Sure, it's MX-5 that's over year old but there's no drastic difference so I wouldn't say that it's a matter of paste. It ain't about application either, because for MX-5 I used X with dots between the corners and for FT7 I used the dot in the middle.

One bizarre thing was that it was really hard to take off the damn heatsink when I wanted to repaste. The two screws that are used for mounting simply wouldn't release until I basically pushed on the top end of the mount and only then I was able to unscrew the top one and then follow up with the bottom screw. While DR4 bar setup isn't optimal at least it never had me fighting it when I tried to take it off.

TLDR:
- built quality is OK, fans feel cheap and light but aren't terrible (still, no comparison to stock DR4 fan) - they're whisper quiet up to 50% (around 900 rpm) and are ok at max speed of around 1500 rpm,
- mounting system caused issues on disassembly, a big no-no for me,
- ram clearance is far from optimal, had to raise the fans by about 7 mm in order to clear the Ballistix module sitting in slot 2, DR4 had no such issues and these modules aren't even THAT tall
- if you're already have a decent air cooler don't bother swapping out, gains are minimal in my opinion, especially on 5800X3D with its 3D cache layer sitting between the core and the IHS,
- if you're build new system and are budget oriented it's an OK option if you're trying to save some money.

I might end up selling it at some point and returning to DR4. I would like to give AIO a try but sadly PM01 RGB has bullshit clearance for AIOs on top (the height of rad+fans can't exceed 33 mm in total).

It's sad to hear your experience with PS120 SE isn't as good. I've actually done similar upgrade by switching from Fuma 2 to PS120 SE so I have followed your posts on this and I really wanted to say something is wrong about it but I couldn't find any. I've even checked the pictures you sent to see if something looks wrong but everything seems normal.

But I actually did a repaste yesterday too. So your comment on the mounting system is a little weird to me. Screws on mine loosen easily and whole thing comes right off once I unscrewed both of them. Maybe a defective unit? If screws/mounting mechanism have defects maybe they are also not tightening enough, causing sub-optimal temps. (big stretch ik) If returning is an option, maybe try that. And if you are not seeing decisively better results than DR4 (not even Pro 4) I guess it's better to just return it anyway.

I still have 10min cb runs from the day (8th October) I switched to PS120 SE, I'm attaching those below. Fuma 2 itself was a pretty good cooler. Only reason I upgraded was to give it my friend who had very loud stock fan on his system (my old system) and I got a good deal on TR cooler off amazon at that time.
Note that hwinfo fan readings was a little broken on that version for me. Both cooler should be running at full speed on this test (1200rpm for Fuma 2, 1550rpm for PS120SE). Also my system is running with -30 CO and 102Mhz BCLK. BLCK doesn't effect all that much. But you can see that PS120SE was running on lower temps even though it scored higher. My observations with 5800x3D that it lowers its clocks more aggressively over 80C so scores got lower as well.

+ Also my idle temps are quite a bit lower. Right now, at 21C ambient, CPU fans are at 950RPM~ (case fans at 1000RPM~), while typing this I'm reading 27C lowest and 30C highest core temps.

It’s strange, because for many reviewers and users they had a very good experience with the PS120.
Here is one recent screenshot from Hardware Canucks to show differents brands for AMD CPU temps.
