This is how the controlpanel looks for me

This is how it should look like

Whats going on there, why am i missing all these graphics settings? I reinstalled around four times, trying out both the notebook driver and the default version, same issue.
Tried with nvcleanstall and the default driver without modification but the problem presists, any advice? The os is windows 10 22h2 running on a asus tuf f15 laptop.
The laptop is advertised with 144hz but i cannot change the refreshrate in the nvcontrolpanel or the windows settings, its locked to 64hz instead.

My advice, also use display driver uninstaller, disable automatic update of drivers, then restart, to ensure you're actually running clean and fresh drivers and not whatever Windows Update or ASUS has bothered to release.

The only two components you need, plus optimus since you're on laptop, even Physx isn't really necessary.

You can make NVCleaninstall create a repacked .exe file with the driver settings you've chosen, this will help with any future issues as you can just use that to quickly patch.

its not only the nvcontrolpanel settings that are missing but most importantly i cannot change the resolution and refreshrate, the laptop is clearly advertised with 144hz but this one is stuck at 64, i can see that in the windows display settings when inspecting the properties tab.

The windows10 i run is massively debloated, i have a firewall so there is no windows update or any kind of garbage bloatware, i installed everything manually.
As far as drivers go i installed the cpu chipset and graphicsdriver but the later one doesnt work correctly.
In device manager under displayadapter i see both the nvidia rtx 3050 and the microsoft basic display adapter.
In the bios i looked through everything but cannot find an option regarding nvidia optimus or iGPU or pcie, there is armoury-crate which i disabled and reenabled if that has anything to do with it?
Im sure nvcleanstall has nothing to do with the problems im having but i thought it might be worth asking this forum since there probably are some "smart bastards" around here, thanks for helping.

On reddit i just found a comment saying this:

Aplogies but, could you be more precise? What's myASUS i don't have that, asuming it's software you're saying i will have to download and install and run, if it's only because of the bios-update, i would have gone to the manufacturers-website and download the latest bios there and flash it manually with usb.

When you say "update driver and pick the new one" are you reffering to the devicemanager? I saw such an option there.

What i would try now, unless you have a better plan, is disable armourycrate in bios since it doesnt seem to be required for anything, download the latest bios from the support website and flash it, if the display settings are still missing in the nvpanel i would DDU and reinstall with nvcleanstall and if that doesnt fix it try the normal driver, if that doesnt work either i have no idea.

While this is a good idea generally, it can also cause some drivers and software to not work correctly.

If you create a disk partition and install clean Windows on it, unmodified, try installing the graphics drivers then, and see if you have the same issue.

Rather than trying to "fix" consumer editions of Windows, it's often more practical to install LTSC, and do more minor levels of tweaks.

It is shitsus. If you expect, you can install a plain Windows OS and even more cut it down... nope... it won't work... ASUS tends to leave more and more custom controls via their control interface and make some HW solution in laptops pretty weird in a proprietary HW manner. The ones have a screen in touchpad are rather cuckoo without using their software to tame their fetish approach making those work.

I am asking you to launch their myASUS app found in microsoft store... unlike any other stuff myASUS works pretty fine checking up if their specific HW needs firmware updates, that are often not found on their site. It includes, vbios, bios, ssd BIOS, touchpad FW, USB PD FW, battery FW, etc etc things... that NEEDs to be updated always. And it is the most easy way to do so.

You need INTEL GPU drivers. The laptop does not ship with win10 support, so it may rely on a specific feature, thus you cannot enable more than 64Hz on intel GPU which are you using and the screen eDP is hooked on.

I have no issues with the debloating i do, the steps listed in the guide you shared are pretty similar if not same what i do, just that im using windows pro, but i also dont pay for a license.

You have a FX507ZC, as you showed in the screenshot and that is the model you have to seek. You have a QR code on the bottom case, take the phone and scan it... it will link to the support download page.

I dont use microsoft store, microsoft is a disgusting company with an os that acts as if it was malware.
But i know how to get store apps without using the store, thanks to chris titustech.
I have always debloated windows before using it and i certainly wouldnt touch windows at all without debloating it first, now some people here argue that my debloating might have caused the issue im having but thats sounds pretty silly for me, because if you look around the internet you will find a tons of people having the exact same problem with the same laptop and even other devices and guess what they didnt debloat sh!t. I dont randomly delete system32 components, my debloating is not of concern here.

I can confirm the chipset was installed because the driver folder with intel chipset in it is present in C:\

Things go round and round... there were times when laptops functioned only on custom drivers, then they became more generic, then again vice versa as more bling and sophisticated things are needed especially in power saving department and custom hardware. You are totally right using system76 that is fully linux compatible, a good choice.

Still it is weird to me using such an obscene thing like ASUS gaming laptop, as it ain't a laptop, it is big and far from mobile(especially with the charger brick), screams a geek or virgin4life... put a generic PC in a DAN case or something similar if you care for space and quit fooling around... the next thing we facepalm in unclewebb support, my lappy overheats while gaming, help me with the undervolt...

All the effort making a laptop safe for a customer and not you maybe useless as at the end of the day he will push the in the spammy Nigerian Prince email and and the end of the day still uses social networking and messengers. The reason you don't have the Manage 3D Settings page on the NVCP is because your laptop has an Intel integrated GPU and your laptop's integrated panel is wired to it, i.e. - the discrete graphics processor is presently disabled and there are no settings that you can tinker with, simply because it's off. Considered it has an RTX 3050, I can tell outright your laptop doesn't support Advanced Optimus or MUX switch, so to get the 3D settings page, you must connect a display to the NVIDIA GPU directly, usually, this means the HDMI port. This will enable the Manage 3D settings and allow the Nvidia driver to take over, otherwise the 3050 will operate in headless mode - that is, it'll do the processing for games and heavier applications, but the laptop's screen will remain connected to the Intel graphics.

Windows will automatically choose the correct GPU for the application you are trying to run, but you can manually assign it on the Windows graphics settings (i'm on Windows 10, but it's the same on 11). Power saving mode means integrated graphics, high performance means dedicated GPU.

I have a Dell G15 5515 laptop, it has a Ryzen 5600H, meaning it's an AMD+NVIDIA dual graphics configuration. Internal laptop panel and USB-C video-out are managed by the integrated Radeon Vega GPU, while the HDMI port is wired directly to its RTX 3050. It seems your Intel laptop works very much in the same way.

If you want a laptop that can run the internal panel off the discrete GPU, you will need to do some research but the minimum requirement for MUX/Advanced Optimus is RTX 3060 - no laptops with the RTX 3050 or 3050 Ti support this, and it's a feature usually found on laptops that come with the RTX 3070 or higher.

This issue is becomming frustrating. The laptop works, no crashes no glitched no bugs, all applications work flawless, except one.
The damn nvidia controlpanel has no displaysettings.
I refuse to reinstall the whole os because of one piece of software being retarded.

From your explanation of the situation i hear that the integrated cpu graphics will handle desktop useage while the 3050 will handle intense tasks like videogames.
If so, i should be able to set games to run with 144hz refreshrate. I'm not sure about that since i cannot change the refreshrate in the nvcontrolpanel and neither in the windows displaysettings. Guess i'll have to install a game and try out the ingame settings.
I have already tried connecting an external display to the HDMI port but the screen remained black and i was unable to get it working.
Thanks for helping, much appreciated. I see that dedicated laptop gpu's are only present within the high-end segment.
This is very confusing, i still fail to understand why a computer has a dedicated gpu (like a 3050) built into it but uses that gpu only for specific tasks and does so automatically without giving control to the user.
I'll follow your instructions and use the windows graphics setting to assign the 3050 to custom services like games.

I didn't sideload it.
Installed all dependencies first, then the program itself.
I tried running it straight away but kept getting errors so i had to install the dependencies first.
Turns out all of that was pointless since the software is stuck at 0% anway, even after being granted full network access...

It's like I said, you will not get any of those settings available until you use an HDMI cord and connect the laptop to an external display. The internal panel is managed by the Intel graphics. This means the Nvidia GPU doesn't see it or even know it's there, so as far as the NVCP is concerned, you don't have a display plugged in - the GPU is operating headless. If you want to change any scaling or display color settings while the laptop is outputting to its internal panel, use the Intel graphics control panel instead. You did install the Intel graphics driver, did you not? If you didn't, then do so. It is required.

Nvidia isn't at fault here, this is a low-end laptop with basic headless switchable graphics. Anything else, a MUX switch is a hard requirement, and as I mentioned earlier, these are only available on select 3060 laptops and up. The one I have (Dell G15) supports MUX with the 3060 version, but not on the one I have. So even that is specific, you need to do some research to figure out if the laptop you're buying is going to be meeting your personal demands.
