Currently playing The Talos Principle 2.

It's a great game, and absolutely love all the detail with UE5.

That does look very realistic! One could be forgiven thinking it was an actual photo.

It's not quite at the level of where i would be convinced of it being real, but it is impressively good looking and detailed !

And the impressive thing is that it all holds up in quality, even when you walk as close as you possibly can - i suppose that is nanite at play.

I concur... Where is our new Deus Ex game's???
The one thing a lot of us old timers have going for us, is we got to experiance games that were too graphically intense for the hardware available.
Even though we played with the absolute best pc's possible. So now with all the gpu hoarse power we have, we are spoiled and we can now play ANYTHING...
Now that Graphics are reaching realism it definitely shows it was the gameplay that really made the classics good. Looking forward to playing the half life remaster.

:toast:

Where is Crysis 4 !

I'm not smart enough for that game, I tried it a few times and just end up getting lost usually or confused about something. RIP low iq
Its brutally complex. Run with a build guide once or even a few times... and even then... there is so much also in terms of content to figure out. They kinda overdid it to me at some point.

I already beat the original Brothers A Tale of Two Sons, it was my personal goty in 2013, I am very much looking forward to the remake though as I haven't played it since 2013

@lexluthermiester most of my steam friends also have 1000+ games on wish list. lot of amazing indie games out there ... 70% of my wishlist is overwhelming positive rating on steam.
You should get Humble Choice. One of the tenets of Humble Choice is 70% positive Steam User rating. Indies are a blast there too Raji was a sweet Gem.

I can fully say that if you enjoy Grim Dawn, Torchlight 1 or 2 or Titan Quest, that Last Epoch is going to give you the feeling that all of those Games have. Just one more level. It is also smooth as butter at 4K

Unfortunately, the Last Epoch didn't quite made it for me. It lacks some of the basic QoL PC game features. Grim Dawn was a much better experience.

Trying out Enshrouded ATM. This one could fly, but they really need to do something about terrible performance... Had to lock it to 60FPS in Adrenaline to smooth it out. The camera movement and animations are locked at 60FPS, and when you have more than that, it feels like 30FPS. It runs like crap anyway, less than 60FPS with maxed out graphics at 1440p with a damn FSR on max on my rig. And it doesn't look that good in the first place. Having FSR 2.0 and FXAA as only AA options (blurry mess), lack of other essential settings for a PC game (yeah, I know I'm repeating myself)... I'd gladly give them money when they fix this. It's a fast paced game, and I'm far from being the only one that want 100FPS+. I've built this PC with that goal in mind. Just type "Enshrouded terrible performance" in websearch and get blasted by amount of Steam and Reddit results.
The game have amazing gameplay features. It's a damn RPG sandbox! Some of us dreamed of such combo years ago.

And now I'll stop ranting and just show an example of how I think it should be done. Hat off, and a big bow to the Endnight Games Ltd, for including features which should be mandatory for every PC game:

Fullscreen, FPS limiter.
Sons of the Forest_2024.02.28-01.49.png

SMAA - the only true AA solution! The ability to turn of the damn Motion Blur, Chromatic Aberration and Film Grain!
Sons of the Forest_2024.02.28-01.50_1.png

FOV slider!
Sons of the Forest_2024.02.28-01.50_2.png

Proximity voice chat is not an essential, but a very nice feature.
Sons of the Forest_2024.02.28-01.50_3.png

And it also runs at >100FPS maxed out, as it should be. They will get my money, just as they got it for the prequel.

Playing Talos Principle 2 also and it is quite beautiful and hard on the neuron's.
That's the next thing I'm testing out!

I tried the demo for it once, and it was stuttery as hell and it wasn't just me, lot of people had that issue, that was before release though I think, so it might have been fixed. Just make sure you find it out before the refund period expires.

Syberia - The world before.
The change of pace is slow cause point-and-click. Luckily you don't need to play the previous games because they included an optional introduction movie in the main menu.
First some minor points; the graphics aren't great plus no there's no uw support (it only bothered me the 1st minute). If you played The Talos Principle (2) before this game like I did, you'll notice the visuals are well..less vibrant, and the animations are a bit clunky.
But it has a great story and the music creates a nice ambient. The puzzles are simple and enjoyable.

My exact experience with Valheim... Selling defective products, and those damn youtubers never have any issues with anything. Every game run smooth. Years ago I remember fanboys had their time calling out anyone that pointed out that issue (broken launches) by saying stuff like "buy a better PC". Now that everyone and their grandmother has a powerful one, it doesn't matter anymore, because stupid kids have even more stupid parents who will buy anything new that comes out.

Been super busy with work the past 5-6 months, but finally <insert shitty project> is over and im back to having gaming time :p
Finished Persona 3 Reload within 2 weeks and today moved on to FF7 rebirth with either Like a dragon Infinite wealth or Dragon's dogma 2 next (depends on how long FF7 takes to finish).
One things for sure I'll be getting my fill for the next month or two :p

The platforming in both DOOM games takes some getting used to and can be frustrating, not to mention the very spaced out checkpoints, but it's a crazy experience nonetheless.

I just started Breakout Recharged, a 2021 remake from Atari on the old Breakout games, one of my favorite genres that has been lost to time.

In the same genre there used to be these games called Ricochet, but I can't find them anywhere sadly, but they were really fun.

I think you're thinking of Ricochet Infinity. Here's the archived home page, see if this meshes with what you remember:

https://web.archive.org/web/20080723065513/http://www.ricochetinfinity.com/

As for the game itself, it seems to have fallen to abandonware.

is it safe to download from this link? I really miss playing that game!

@Super Firm Tofu It is very relaxing. Glad you are enjoying it too

edit: nm I just tried the download links and they are all broken for all 4 ricochet games... sigh. my search continues.

The platforming in both DOOM games takes some getting used to and can be frustrating, not to mention the very spaced out checkpoints, but it's a crazy experience nonetheless.
Yep you got that right. I hated Doom Eternal for that. Having said that I finished it Ultra Violence. Nightmare is too much for me, but mostly I lost interest in the game its just feels like monkey on acid trip so I stop.

Continuing with GTA San Andreas.... pier have a 'nice' name

And then how you deal with this sherm head?

You'd be an idiot to swim all the way to have a boat chase halfway across the map, what you SHOULD did is snipe that backstabber bastard

And just like that, $15k in the bank and mission complete

is it safe to download from this link? I really miss playing that game!

@Super Firm Tofu It is very relaxing. Glad you are enjoying it too

edit: nm I just tried the download links and they are all broken for all 4 ricochet games... sigh. my search continues.

There are other archives on archive.org, and it looks like "Reflexive Entertainment" garners several hits for games with Ricochet in the name.

Having said that... I'm not going to risk downloading anything to see if it works. Here there be dragons...
