You might want to avoid team Green ( if you end up in the Ditch/hedgerow its like wearing Camouflage.)
Team Red is the way to go...( even blood on red shows up in Ditch/hedgerow's

I found some 230 quid bikes at an actual bike shop in Exeter

Also if you have a Decathlon near your location in exeter (there should be a branch in Exeter) They are worth checking out.

Triban RC100 for £250 although its extremely basic and not going to be much good if youre in a hilly area but it will still get you around from A-B. Although you'd probably still be best served with a second hand bike from an independent shop as they will most likely have better options for the same money if bike rental isnt possible.

If you can up your budget. Decathlon are known to sell very very good VFM bikes on the UK bike scene. (if you want something new)

Does anybody know how to switch mobile networks while keeping your phone number? I know you need a PAC code from the current provider, but what then?

Also, is anybody on one of O2's rolling plans? How does it work? Do you pay by direct debit each month, or is it a top-up system like the rest of the pay-as-you-go tariffs?

I've been with Three for maybe 6-8 years now, but my contract is up, and they're reintroducing EU roaming charges with the new one, which I find unacceptable, so I'm switching to O2 after the April price increase.

in less than a week? holy shit, only takes a few hours in USA, just did this recently myself cause DISH wireless/Boost Infinite is a garbage company. so glad I changed.

Yeah. Thats just the UK for you. They are super quick at taking your money and streamlining the sign up process but the moment you need their help to do something then they slow right down.

I say less than a week. Its around 3days if youre lucky. They'll need at least a good 12-24hrs after you've submitted the porting request for them and they've OK'd it.

Pretty much. But if your mind is completely made up about transferring I would start the process with Three NOW as they do like to play games depending how long you've been a customer of theirs. You can Follow the guide here like i did and try to obtain a PAC code either by SMS or in the account settings on your online account or you may need to spend 30-40mins on the phone with their customer support team who will do everything fucking thing under the sun short of giving you a BJ to stop you leaving their network. They wouldnt give me a code online or via SMS so i had to call them.

If you've been with them super long like I have. I was with them almost 15 years. They will try and match whatever offer youre switching to on their competing network. For instance. I was paying £15p/m with three. I switched to lebara which is something silly like £6.90 and only when I was asking for a PAC code did they really try to do anything to keep me as a customer.

But for me the move was very personal... Having basically grown up with the network. Their network service hasnt gotten any better since the day I signed up over a decade ago. No point giving me a £300 Tablet or a £800 phone if the network itself suffers from patchy blackspots and very very inconsistent performance that leaves youtube videos buffering even at 480p.

PAC codes are valid for 30 days. So you'll still have more than enough time to sort your business out with O2, Even if they were to fuck up the process multiple times somehow.

I know what you mean. It took me a nearly hour-long online chat to get the info whether I'd have to pay roaming charges or not if I renewed my contract. This was my only question. After a 15-minute (and absolutely ridiculous) security check with hundreds of personal questions, they started offering me all kinds of deals with unlimited data and Paramount +, neither of which I need, instead of answering my damn question. I told the advisor multiple times: "I... do... not... need... your... goddamn... Paramount plus, just answer the F-ing question" but she kept offering it like that could ever make me stay.

Basically, the free EU roaming was what kept me with Three all these years, but now that it's over, I'm ready to move. The ridiculously long and pointless online chat with the advisor didn't help at all.
