Organic matter decays, it's a simple fact of life. For all we do to extend the life of OLED panels, like pixel wear levelling, we're pushing more decay into it. It's great that we're getting ideas on how to extend the life of OLED panels but for all the investment and progress we still can barely get a year without deeply changing user behaviour with hidden task bars and fixed elements, changing backgrounds, etc. but we're mass marketing the technology more and more. OLED seems to be going the way of the plasma tv, as soon as alternatives get a bit better and cheaper it will be dropped very fast.
Not obsolete but the warranty claims will probably be kind of amazing.
the super duper 4K OLED gaming monitors that are comming out now for 1200 EUR will be obsolete pretty quickly?
