You're also using a monitor that doesn't support HDR.

Honestly HDR on PC < Console or I guess I should say Windows vs Console. I was pretty disappointed how far behind pc in general was at properly supporting hdr a lot of games that support it very well on PS4/5/Xbox are trash implementation on pc.

They don't bother with it on pc, as they know the amount of people who actually use hdr on pc is miniscule.

Have two new TV with 4K HDR , one was free from Xfinity , its on my second system for a reason , the one for my Gaming Rig , TCL55R646 retails for $949.99 , got it for $600 new , with a 4090 , when I upload , HDR can take two days to process , 4K looks good , When HDR is added, is noticeable, not all HDR are equal , free Xfinity TV 4KHDR can't compare to TCL55R646 4KHDR at all , most people will not see the beauty.

Honestly I didn't realize the gulf till I played FF7R and God of war on PC and straight up thought the HDR was broken on PC while looking fantastic on Playstation same display. Microsoft first party games like Forza are a bit better on PC with it but not much.

Dude, if you needed 2 min to spot that, then you really do need to visit an optician - no offense. That, or you're looking at this on your phone, or some stupid sh1t like that.

"A bit smoother" - alternative way of describing textures losing all fine detail...

And I'm sure nvidia were banking on people being exactly like you when they released ray reconstruction... then again, there are people who claim they can't even tell the difference between path tracing on / off, or the difference between 1440p and 4k - absolutely buggles my mind how many people have poor vision and never get proper glasses, or get laser surgery (said as someone who wears glasses).
I was looking at it on my 34" 1440 UW, zoomed in. I see what you mean by loss of detail, but since I had to pixel peep to notice, I don't think it would affect my gaming experience.

I'm all in for maximum visual quality as far as your hardware supports it, and if you've been following other threads, then you probably know that I'm all against things like upscaling that are marketed to make your experience better when in fact, it just blurs and smears everything unless you're on a 4K TV. But this isn't like that, imo. This is a tiny mini thing, probably not worth writing home about. Besides, if you don't like it, you can just disable it.

The other question is, would you still notice it if it was the only option in the game, and you had nothing to compare it against?

there is something strange in graphic, everytime using RT Ultra or RT+DLSS v3.5 RR.... much more blur..... also, using DLSS quality in dowgtown, average fps will be going down 10 fps than in night city.

By blur, do you mean that textures loses all fine detail ? Cause that's exactly what i showed on the previous page happens due to ray reconstruction - with it off you don't get this blurry / smeared oilpainting effect.

Honestly I didn't realize the gulf till I played FF7R and God of war on PC and straight up thought the HDR was broken on PC while looking fantastic on Playstation same display. Microsoft first party games like Forza are a bit better on PC with it but not much.

I don't have a console to compare it to, but it wouldn't surprise me honestly.

Using a highend tv (which does 2000 nits in hdr) i can just say that i usually find that games look better, and more accurate in sdr - in hdr everything becomes overblown in an attempt to show off just how hdr it is (note it's not an issue with movies or other content). I prefer sdr to that, which sticks to the devs original vision for how the game should look.

Wait, since when did the game implement self reflection? (it's beheaded though) I don't remember seeing it last time, or was this part of the RT mod?

I live not really close to Haiti and I'm not entirely sure as to what is up there but I've became curious because Voodoo Boys seem something more than just a loosely based gang, I think they have more in common with real Haitians then it appears at a first glance. Any Haitians or experts to confirm that? Are VDBs a real possibility? Or are they too caricaturical?
In terms of lore, the current VDBs indeed originate from Haiti, which was rendered unlivable by climate change in 2062. Many refugees moved to NC and were recruited to work on the Pacifica construction project, which failed, and so they settled there as a big Haitian community. It's not fully clear why exactly they want to breach the blackwall so much, apart from contacting AIs.
So according to lore they are Haitian refugees, not just completely randomly placed there. They are called Voodoo Boys but the actual gang's name is unknown and they are very different than the older Voodoo Boys gang.

Here's a good video about them;

My Q is obviously not about the lore. I know the lore.

I'm asking if VDBs are like real Haitians. Like, these guys from REAL LIFE. I don't know a thing about real life Haitians.

Lighting does become alot better with path tracing, but it really is a shame how much it nukes texture quality and fine detail in general, especially when using ray reconstruction...

No rt

path tracing + ray reconstruction

Honestly, another 20-30 usd high quality expansion wouldn't be a bad idea, now that the game is alot more liked by people.

I wouldn't mind paying for this game (I refunded it) if they start actually addressing bugs and other issues. More DLCs is great but knowing CDPR, more DLCs = orders of magnitude more bugs and glitches. Technical state peaked in 2022, declining ever since 1.6. Fallout series games are still worse though.

They've addressed most of the bugs tbh.
• T-posing.
• Fast travel tends to break for no apparent reason, leading to CTDs.
• Phone tends to break, leading to quests being impossible to be finished.
• FSR got broken a year ago and they never attempted to fix that.
• Chain hacking crashes the game since 2.0 on some machines, never addressed.
• Framerate drops for no apparent reason.
• Odd ragdoll behaviour (NPCs straight up levitate since 2.0).
Also a bunch problems that I reported to them (also posted on TPU), not a single one of them being addressed.

Perhaps they fixed most of the bugs throughout 1.0 to 1.52 but I never played patches older than 1.52 and funny as hell, 1.52 was the best from the technical standpoint. 1.6 onwards introduced more bugs than they fixed.

Yeah, and it's 99+ percent not your fault. The game needs a lot of tough love and CDPR need a reality check. The game is great, one of the greatest of all time but barely existent technical health makes it a 5. Outta 10.

Sounds like you got alot of "you" issues in this game.

Yeah, yeah, keep blaming the end user for every single game dev's epic blunder.

first time ever Cyberpunk 2077 hits overwhelming positive reviews

what a comeback story. let's see if Starfield can do the same (although I don't mind the game, it's this kind of dedication to improving a game that makes me really respect a developer, No Man's Sky also comes to mind, and Stardew Valley)

Starfield deffo wont - cyberpunk was always a good game with an interesting story, and very good side quests with good character development - it was just buggy for some people and needed polishing.

Starfield on the other hand was / is a mediocre game at its core at best. Like i had alot of fun with it initially primarily due to building ships, but after being done with that, the more i played it, the less i liked it - the game had all the downsides of bethesda games, without any of the upsides.
Like in fallout or elder scrolls, the world invites you to just go explore everything, with an entirely handcrafted world that has so many interesting things, which for me is the primary thing drawing me in in those games... where as in starfield, outside of the 4 big settlements, it's all Ai generated. So you're basically just wasting your time doing anything outside of the cities - so you are pretty much discouraged from exploring anything. Then you have a 2/10 story (if im being generous) and 5/10 combat.

Ironically cyberpunk have waaaay more of that exploration element that bethesda games used to be renowned for.
