I put the 360 variant on a system for the first time I got to say I am impressed.... The head unit on AMD was mildly annoying to install otherwise pretty fantastic.

100% yes it indeed makes it sounds better. IMO the best X-Fi cards was Elite Pro. Mod vs mod the CS4398 to me is better sounding DAC than PCM1794, to my ear at least. Alas it only available in PCI so it can't be used in modern system, unless you bothered with PCIe to PCI adapter. Also from what I heard there is no Windows 11 driver for these cards.

It's a bit of a hassle to install on the cpu as the 2 screws didn't line up with the holes But I managed it...only to discover it won't fit in the Cooler Master NR200.
But it will fit in the Caselabs Mercury S3.

Only went and did it! Long story but saw a 19-14900K on ebay for a starting price of £300 from a seller who had it professionally delidded. Threw in a max bid of £340 not thinking I would win and what do you know, I won!!! Not sure whether I was happy or sad...but after testing, it is perfect with low idle temps at mid 20 degrees C and max at high 80's degrees C in Cinebench R23 multi-core test with a score of 41K.....and the seller was great as he threw in the Thermal Grizzly contact frame as well. Have it on an adaptive plus offset vcore with a small undervolt and have been testing hard with it flying through all the tests...

4.20 V fully charged probably.
(My 18650 cells I use for vaping I recharge them when they are around 3.40V , they are 4.20V when fully charged.)

Excuse my dirty Kitchen... Should have time to swap these in this week..... They came faster than expected.
I did kinda want to wait for next generation but this was extremely cheap much cheaper than what an 870E board with a X3D chip would cost later this year at the very least.

Not sure this counts as a tech purchase, but my bread machine with a bottom based bearing was driving me nuts, so I got a dough making machine with bearing at the top; matt black was a definite plus.
