ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000 tri-band WiFi 7 gaming router at Computex 2024. This next-generation powerhouse is designed to dominate gaming and computing experiences with ultra-fast tri-band WiFi 7 speeds of up to 19 Gbps, innovative features like Automatic Frequency Coordination, and comprehensive wired and wireless network functions.

Next-gen WiFi power
The ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE19000 router boasts ultra-fast wireless speeds of up to 19 Gbps, thanks to innovative WiFi 7 features like 320 MHz channels, 4096-QAM, and Multi-Link Operation. It is the world's first gaming router with Automatic Frequency Coordination. AFC automatically checks the WiFi environment and chooses the least congested channel in the 6 GHz band, boosting peak transmit power by up to 63 times higher than Low Power Indoor networking devices. The GT-BE19000 also provides up to 31 Gbps of wired capacity, including dual 10 Gb Ethernet and quad 2.5 Gb Ethernet ports, ensuring strong, stable connections for building a robust local network in the new era of AI.

Effortless game boosts with Gaming Network
Guest Network Pro is an ASUS-exclusive network segmentation technology. It empowers gamers to manage network features and connected devices easily by connecting to a dedicated SSID or VLAN. Guest Network Pro features a Kid's Network, IoT Network, VPN Network and Guest Network to meet most modern network needs. It also features IoT device setup and management, parental controls, and advanced VPN instant connection.

The Guest Network Pro technology in the GT-BE19000 also includes a Gaming Network setting tailored for next-gen experiences. The Gaming Network combines all gaming features into a single SSID, allowing gamers to get the best possible experience without needing to configure each device individually.

Users of the GT-BE19000 can also take advantage of Triple-Level Game Acceleration, a concept pioneered by ROG that prioritizes a game's data packets, enhancing experiences from the gaming device to the router to the game server.

AiMesh made smarter with WiFi 7 and AI
ASUS is also announcing Multi-Link Operation support for its next-gen Smart AiMesh feature included in routers like the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE19000. Smart AiMesh provides AI-powered wireless backhaul and intelligently prioritizes high-demand packets to the faster band, helping to ensure buffer-free gaming and streaming experiences. Meanwhile, the ROG GT-BE19000 10 Gb Ethernet LAN port provides a dedicated wired backhaul option for an always-connected extendable mesh network.

Feature updates for the complete ASUS WiFi 7 lineup
Along with the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000, users can also enjoy Multi-Link Operation support and cutting-edge features, including Smart AiMesh and enhanced security features such as Guest Network Pro (or its lite version, Smart Home Master) on many ASUS and ROG WiFi 7 routers, including the ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro, ROG Rapture GT-BE98, ASUS ZenWiFi BQ16 Pro (BE30000), ASUS ZenWiFi BQ16 and ASUS RT-BE88U.

Features
  • Delivers tri-band WiFi 7 speeds of up to 19 Gbps and wired capacity of up to 31 Gbps, including dual 10 Gbps and four 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports
  • For the best experience, Gaming Network combines all gaming features into a single SSID, so gamers don't need to configure each device individually
  • Smart AiMesh leverages WiFi 7 Multi-Link Operation, enabling automatic WiFi band selection for stable mesh networks and smoother streaming and gaming
  • Cutting-edge features such as Smart AiMesh and Guest Network Pro (or Smart Home Master) now available on many ASUS and ROG WiFi 7 routers

Given AsSus's recent trend of making everything more expensive than it should/has to be just because they can, then yea, $1-1.2k sounds about right, at least at launch day anyways.... but when nobody buys them for that, then the street prices will hopefully fall downwards by ~$200, which is still too much but a little closer to reality anyways :)

Honestly it'll cost but I think it will be around 599-699. The top model cost 799 usd and this would/should be the 3rd in the tier hierarchy.

Edit: I was just told the price will be $749.

I will guess... it will cost ~1299e with VAT in our region.

Do we get a prize if we guess right?

Ah, I thought this was the new top of the range model. Still a big ask for a router.

You'll have to ask Asus about that one.

My sentiments exactly. Digging up some more info. This actually should be the 4th in hierarchy. There's the BE98 PRO, BE98(not sure of the differences between these 2 but both should be BE30000), the BE25000(another quad band router like the prior 2) and this router which is BE19000(tri band).
Learning this leads me to believe asus is getting out of hand if this not even top 3. I want to retire my gt ax11000 but I don't have any spare limbs to give away.

Edit: BE98PRO has 2 6ghz band, BE98 reduces 1 6ghz band to 5ghz.

So they're all the same hardware more or less, just with different WiFi solutions inside. However, that this is cheaper than the model with an additional 5 GHz radio is just weird.
Also, the BE96U appears to be identical, except for most of the 1 Gbps ports having been upgraded to 2.5 Gbps on this model.

It's nice to see 10G WAN and 10G LAN, but no thanks to ASUS. Overpriced crap that needs to be rebooted every day to be stable. Then they'll try to screw you on the RMA to boot.

The 96 is tri-band too, no? It's marketed as BE19000 as well.

I bought an ASUS router about 3 or 4 years ago, AX3000 or something like that. I had to schedule a reboot on it once a day so that my internet didn't just stop working for no apparent reason. I also found that it typically restrained my wired internet speeds to about 375-400MBps. I was paying for 400 at the time so I didn't think much of it. After switching to PfSense, I started getting 480+ MBps, same connection, etc...

Yeah, that model was using a crappy tri-core Cortex-A7 SoC, not a product I would've bought.
I have three different models from them, as I got two in Taiwan a while back and a different one since moving back to Sweden and none of them are having any issues.
Admittedly I had to RMA the cheapest one, but I got a brand new replacement.

I used to buy cheapo routers and be fine with them. At the time, I had an older TP-Link Archer 7 that was dying slowly, my wife and I were both unemployed, basically living off our savings while looking for jobs. I bought what looked like a reasonable router at a reasonable price. It was a POS when I couldn't really afford to replace it. It left a really bad taste in my mouth. I gave it to one of my brothers, and the newer firmware revisions made it reasonable. He now reboots it once a while. Especially in light of recent events, ASUS is on my do not buy list.

This is why you should always spend a little bit of time researching what you're buying.
I have an unfair advantage due to having worked with tech for most of my life and I understand that consumers often buy whatever seems reasonable.
However, routers have also evolved to become very complex devices, as people demand all kind of features that people have demanded and all of a sudden, the lower end devices are struggling. If you paid US$400 for an AX3000 router, you got ripped off as well.
Also, I'm not saying it should be like this, products should be working properly, but consumers are becoming beta testers on a regular basis, with features and functionality being added over time.

The only thing I've come across at work (At that time, Hospital IT, before that corporate and industrial IT.) that I would consider for my home is Ubiquiti products, which I incidentally use for all my Wi-Fi and switching at this point. I've been considering going to their gateway products just to simplify things.

I think I paid less than $150 for the AX3000. At that time, it was probably the most expensive router I had ever bought by a few dollars. Before that, the Archer did just fine and before that, I had a Linksys WRT54G for what feels like forever. Cheap routers used to be plenty good enough for my basic home use.

I've spent over a $1000 on my current setup, but it also has multiple hotspots and 4 VLANs. I'm not in the basic home router market anymore.

Yes, cheap routers used to be plenty, before people had internet speeds over a 100 Mbps, multiple wireless devices that could utilise the full speed of their routers, IoT trinkets and so on.
We live in a different world now that requires more powerful hardware in many instances.
I mean, at one point we used modems, very few people would consider using that for internet access today.
