None of the linux distros you list picks my interest.
Or mine, nor would I recommend running them on the daily if you are new to it.

However I would give Ubuntu or opensuse a try, I had issues with my laptop with this card when it was first released but I believe the firmware blob has been added by now.

I am tired of Ubuntu and Opensuse at work my boss uses a mix now a days and for the past 11 years i been working with CentOS, Raspberry and Ubuntu from time to time.

I really enjoyed Arch it wasn't really hard to install with uefi and Secure boot and ran everything really good expect wifi.

That's Naboro for my gaming rig sounds interesting with Proton GE and the ArchCraft with KDE Plasma 6.

I think we have a higher number of different distros than users here...

Diversity is good, but I wonder whether Linux has gone overboard.

Weird. I have AX210. I just did a test for you in my home network. I am on Fedora 40... ( don't recommend Nobara actually, stick to the core Fedora and install everything you need yourself). Stick to Ubuntu, Suse or Fedora in general...

I’m not a nobara or arch person at all you won’t catch me anywhere near those distros.

I would agree with the over all 3 for more harmless experiences and otherwise that’s what my wifi card can do now. Though I do know it had issues around kernel 6.1 we are 6.9 now on rolling distros and I think Ubuntu released with 6.8. It’s much better now. This kernel in general has been great for HW support.

Did you run Wayland or X11? I heard and read several had issues with Wayland but I hope it's fixed.

I would love to go Linux again but the wifi speed with the ax210 needs to be fixed before I even think about because I do not want a shitty internet experience.

My gamer would properly just run Nobara if I would get myself to drop Windows.
Wayland I believe. Always good to have a windows drive so you can game without hassles. When you have spare drives you have many choices. You dont have to lock yourself out of anything really.

I have tried those, just to understand what's what, Nobara has too much tweaks that break my other dev stuff, thus it is sometimes pain to understand what's going on. You can cope with Arch, but it is overrated tbh and aur is not my cup of tea.

Ubuntu is getting way too crammed and performance actually suffers, that's what you get going mainstream, too much corpo meetings, less coding. I am looking with a keen eye on Pop!_OS, but not yet... thus I am the most unpopular guy using evil corporate Fedora, but I use latest mainline kernel and latest mesa. Being full AMD every update for me is like xmas and I gain performance. ROCm also works out of the box. The biggest hurdle for me is to get rid of Adobe LR and relearn the same using Darktable and Rawtherappe.

I do have drives laying around even the old boot drive from my T480 I used for Arch, and I got a 2TB SATA in a external orico usb-c and another Gigabyte 240GB sata so not like I miss small drives.

Laptop or desktop with WiFi7? I only have WiFi6 on my Deco X20 even my WiFi card is 6E and on Windows I do about 500 down and 70 up, but I am excited for next week getting upgrade to docsis 3.1 so I can do 1000/500 that's gonna be a test and price stays the same.

Laptop or desktop with WiFi7?

That was on plain WIFI6. I have WIFI6E asiaRF AW7916-NPD in my Banana Pi R3 router and my network is 2.5GbE, but it was done on onboard mt7915 and my openspeedtest server resides in my DIY NAS docker so I can benchmark any wifi devices past pedestrian gigabit speeds. I have made a speedy home network on the budget and the BPI-R3 is rock solid, the R4 is not ready code wise and the wifi7 module is seperate and having finishing touches, but all will cost 3x times more too and not sure I need it really.

The PC is same as in my system specs, but I have taken out the default Mediatek wlan and replaced with the AX210. So few cents about AX210, it has erratas around WPA3 and works buggy if using it. In Linux I cannot make 6E work on this card, no matter what, windows does work. It ain't DFS, tough nut to crack, but not important, as my WIFI6 works fine.
For your case it could be also ASPM doing crap, try to disable them in grub at boot, to see if it makes changes. pcie_aspm=off. Remember to enable amd_pstate driver also on fresh install, it works better for me.

What speeds you get using a phone? Try Iperf test as an alternative, set the server on local wired PC and ping it on the phone, there are others methods too, it will help to pinpoint what exatcly is going wrong.

I've now switched over entirely from windows, the MS ad's and spyware is just too much for me now. Running Debian 12.5.0 KDE but upgrade to the newer Kernel 6.9.4 for functionality reasons.

All in all, I've tried Mint, Ubuntu, Kubuntu and now settled for Debian, running well, no issues and don't really miss windows which is a bonus.

My favorite Linux distros are Kubuntu, Suse and Arch. I recommend Kubuntu and Suse for the ease of use and installation. Arch for advanced users since the repository is constantly updated, but it is also updated by the end users as well and can burn you if you are not careful.

For a side gig, Steam OS is fun to play with and it's based on Debian.

I thought SteamOS was based on Arch? I am confused...

In the beginning it was always based on Debian, but at some point they switched to Arch.
Currently it has been based on Arch Linux for several years.

I don't really like dual boot plus using uefi and Secure boot.

There are two different ways of dual boot configurations. The most popular method is to install both systems on the same drive.
This has the disadvantage that your boot is slowed down a bit because you see a selection screen every time.
But it also has the disadvantage that every time GRUB gets an update you may have problems starting the other operating system.

Ultimately, the method I'm talking about (using 2 different SSDs) has not one possible negative side effect that a person might dislike.
You have the option to press a key to select a different operating system.
But your windows10/11 partition will always start perfectly the same way it currently does (if you don't press the aforementioned button

Or mine, nor would I recommend running them on the daily if you are new to it.

However I would give Ubuntu or opensuse a try, I had issues with my laptop with this card when it was first released but I believe the firmware blob has been added by now.

Shou Miko is not new to it, he says he has been working with CentOS, Raspberry and Ubuntu for at least 11 years.
For someone with a basic knowledge of Linux, what is the advantage of Ubuntu over Devuan? You can say that Ubuntu is easier to configure, which saves you time.
But that time gain is only during the first few days of installing and configuring the system.
Usually after a few days you achieve a configuration that requires little maintenance, this is also the case for Devuan.
But from that moment on, Devuan has the advantage that the operating system boots almost twice as fast as Ubuntu every time. (OpenRC)
OpenRC is also more reliable (fewer bugs) than systemd from Ubuntu. You have a less reliable system with Ubuntu.
In the long run, Ubuntu will waste more time than Devuan if you boot the system frequently.
Ubuntu also has more bloatware than Devuan. Ultimately, I don't see any benefit to Ubuntu.

What is the rating of Ubuntu and Devuan on DistroWatch?

@SchumannFrequency thanks for the acknowledge here, I have setup my different uses for linux, fileservers, ovpn server (CentOS, Ubuntu, RaspOS and such) heck even had some of them running as a router but not much anymore we changed to opnsense which is just easier to administrate because in the end customers pay and I am not a big network guru. (I can do switches, cables and basic setup from experience but I am not educated no degree on my life sadly).

All the linux I done I can thank my boss for he is a big on linux it's frustrating from time to time since I am more Windows but it doesn't hurt with linux.
But with the way MS is going with Windows and the release of the Steamdeck well Linux is becoming more of a subject to discus than in the past for me.

I do not really talk about Linux but after trying Arch and I enjoyed it, I think about it and if I should go Linux but properly not for my personal server because I want it to be what I know and been running Windows for over 20years now.

I am late into Linux yes, I read about unraid and docker, specially a docker sounds interesting but the reason is I do not want do a lot of tinkering on my server this is why I rather change my Plex to Jellyfin to get the hw encoding than buying a pass for Windows because I am lazy

Try Fedora with KDE Plasma 6.1 - the graphics is stunning and, if your into Windows, it can be tuned to almost look and feel like Windows.
But then again, just buy Windows :p
But on the serious side - very stable and run very good on AMD APU´s

I like the look of default Arch desktop actually so no issue with the design at all :D

My L14 G2 is Intel Tiger Lake, my old was Coffee Lake with a MX150, my gamer is as you can see in my specs, and @VulkanBros I can see you rock a 4070 Ti how is your gaming with that in linux?

I heard NV cards could be a pain in the rear because NV drivers are close source and not open source. I do enjoy the RX 7000 series but because of energy effiency and performance of the RTX 4070 it went with it.

The GUI codebase of those products is very large and prone to bugs and security issues. Security is one of the most important requirements for a firewall and NAS.
The best practice would be to choose a method that does not use a GUI to configure firewall and NAS services.

For many situations where Docker is used, FreeBSD Jails or illumos/SmartOS Zones are often a safer (or more powerful) option.
In network performance, Jails outperforms Docker at low container counts.
Docker security is the worst in the industry.
If an attacker can launch a container with their desired parameters, they can pretty much always get root trivially (by design).
Docker has many stability issues while Jails are rock solid.
More complex apps and processes are not suitable for Docker.
While processing transactions is a strength of AWS Lambda.

I do not game on the Linux...just use it for work and crunching, it's like you said, it's a boogle to get the Nvidia drivers to work well enough to prober gaming.

In the beginning it was always based on Debian, but at some point they switched to Arch.
Currently it has been based on Arch Linux for several years.
That is what I thought, but Steams OS site still says that it is based on Debian.

So, what is SteamOS?

SteamOS is a public release of our Linux-based operating system. The base system draws from Debian 8, code named Debian Jessie. Our work builds on top of the solid Debian core and optimizes it for a living room experience. Most of all, it is an open Linux platform that leaves you in full control. You can take charge of your system and install new software or content as you want.

I think they need to update the page information and the download version currently is 3.5.7.
