and talk about "british" things

Like how me and my wife were queuing for a bus in Austria and there was a fair amount of folk there when about 5-6 old European bastards approached the queue from an oblique angle and went straight to the front. Ignorant mother fuckers.

Of course, I did nothing. But I've memorised their faces in case I see them again.

Never queue jump. It's the antithesis of Britishness.

I have to agree with you on this, its rude and they know its rude, culture be damned.

Although, you did use the key word old here, so if they were like white haired, I'd personally be ok with that, I always let the white haired older folks go ahead of me when I am in Ireland/UK

Yes, if offered. Very rude even for an old person unless they are physically disabled. Especially if there are more people than seats.

Good timing. I'm flying away on a holiday tomorrow, so see y'all in two weeks (except when I've got nothing better to do than check TPU on my phone). :toast:

Germans dont queue - its a culture thing. Hang around nearby and as soon as the thing happens they all pile in. Done a lot of travelling around the Germanics, work and play, and it gets fun after the initial shock - a chance to rebel sort of.

I take it even further: I hang around until the thing happens, then some more while everybody queues up, and only get moving when the queue is gone. :D

I've not watched it, but if something is posted that makes a politician look cool or crap (fake or not), I'd say not. It's about the optics of boosting or lowering likeability and therefore influencing the gullible mind. Like what social media does.

I suppose the correct term i was looking for was 'parody' - its a parody video of people in the P.P.P.I.P (Political Party People In Parliament)

Haven't seen much focus of that on the beeb for a long time, and I browse it most days.

Sometimes im noticing articles that come up on the BBC FP that are there for maybe an hour then completely buried the next. The article still exists but you'd really need to dig or jump through a hoop or two to find it again because it isnt linked anywhere on the FP.

I keep up with English news (not british), specifically I only have the England section bookmarked from BBC for my news as I plan to live in Cornwall someday (if I ever get rich). Anyways, I have noticed an abnormal amount of speeding in cars/motorcycles and crashes in England this year, not sure whats going on with people over there, but I never seen this many news articles in one year of crashes and injuries from speeding/wrecks in ages.

I think they need to add more speedtrap cameras and increase the fine on ticketing, hurt people in their wallet and they will slow down, you bet your right arse they will lads! I still don't feel safe biking in England, probably never will, but in Finland I have no problem biking there, as they have loads of wide bike lanes in several cities, etc.

Well, I've been away a week and the missing kid Jay Slater has been on every day.

Sad story, that one.

yep I have seen that one too, doesn't make much sense. I have seen a few missing people England posts this year on BBC, the one lady was found in the river, said she probably had fallen in, seems to be the case most of the time, I find it hard to believe rivers are that powerful in England walking paths, surely someone could just swim to the shore? i know some people can't swim, but that is another concept I struggle to understand, swimming always came natural to me

Yeah it's crazy how quick the Beebs love to share news on their front page and then show something else.
I dunno about summer COVID but allergy kicking people butt? Yeah I can believe that statement.

People these days are just in a hurry 24/7, failed government with old methods trying to punish people instead of trying to fix the issue itself. All a big money scheme at the end of the day.

You would be surprised how many people in the UK don't really know how to swim, it honestly depends if at young age they was able to attend a school that offered it, that is if the school had access to a local swimming pool.
But not everyone can fully grasp it, I know when I was doing my swimming lessons in school they would split the groups up from beginner, intermediate and then enthusiast/competitive level.
Which you can only go up after passing a specific test.
As expected, beginner level is just basic kiddy level and you barely learn how to swim properly.

same, I love the UK summers personally, except for the rare days in 2022 that were so damn hot i just was uncomfortable all day and night it was so hot in July 2022, bleh

I have met a few Americans, who have moved here because they love the weather, so varied and never too hot in summer.

I wish I could figure out how they moved there, I work remote and would do so in a heartbeat. far as I can tell you have to be a refugee, or you have to have skills in a in-demand area (which I don't)
