But Expensive indeed, so Highly Recommended for (IDK, TBH) CPU Cooler collectors!

Some want the best of the best no matter what after all $2000 GPUs, $1000 motherboards $1000 ram kits all say hello. If money is no object and you want an air cooler and have the room for it yeah I would recommend the G2... but that's a small niche. For the rest of the normal folks yeah grab something else. Then again in the enthusiast world the number of people with a case full of $30 noctua fans seems to be higher than one might expect. Just worked on a customers system, he's living in a motel and works fast food and no longer has a car or transportation but has a 7900 XTX-based system with Noctua fans. One would think priorities would be a bit different. But different strokes different folks.

I am actually a huge fan of the company and their products. They were very easy to work with during my one year sentence at Newegg Canada as a category manager. But $150 USD is gonna be a tough sell for most.

I have been playing with the cooler more and I can confirm that there is huge amount of air which does not pass between the fins. There are now two fins that buzz. They buzz even at lower fan speed when I run the fans with the supplied resistors.

Suggest you open a ticket with Noctua about it as, from your description, it seems there's something wrong with that particular cooler .. but don't assume JUST YET that all NH-D15 G2 coolers have this issue: you may very well have been unlucky with your sample.

No company has 100% issue free products: it's how they handle their product issues that can make or break how you view them after.

I suggest you return the cooler altogether and buy something decent, by decent I mean another brand..

I got the cooler just to see how flat it is, I will return it to the seller.

The fins are held together at the edges just by three tiny tabs and I think depending what the cooler experiences during the shipping none, one, 4, or even more fins will get loose enough to buzz. I also think that the new fans are not optimally balanced and they contribute to this buzzing problem strongly.

From your description, seems to me that the cooler was "mishandled @ some point".

Has ANY of the reviewers of this product said anything regarding what you describe in their reviews?

I think it has to be installed and then checked for issues.
It doesn't say anything to me while being upside down on the floor.

Depending on the cooler position different fins buzz in different degrees. I chose this position because the buzzing was strong and I was sure it will be apparent in the video.

I don't get the idea "expensive but this cooler is for generations to come".
The same must have been said about D15 G1, warranty is gone already and performance wise right now it is in the middle of the pack, so most likely it still does its job but nothing outstanding.
I am not trying to belittle it, still if you want the best air cooler at the moment and money is not the problem then it is the choice.

The same. I've recommended and installed countless many U14S(s) and U12S(s) (even some U12A(s) as well) for friends and family and they're all happy owners of Noctua air cooling solutions.

tough sell
And that's putting it mildly, especially when we've got the be quiet! and the Thermalright solutions at half (or even lower) the price.

the best air cooler at the moment and money is not the problem then it is the choice.

After all the evidence which points that it is one of the worse expensive coolers on the market.
When you spend so much, you require from it to have a 12-year warranty, to be perfect, to be virtually silent, to be able to cool extremely overclocked chips, and keep them around 70°C.
This pathetic cooler is nothing of the above..

There are no mistakes in how the product is designed and how it is priced. It is exactly how Noctua wants it. And you as a consumer are free to express your opinions about the product.

And the buzzing fins are not a cosmetic issue, you can clearly hear it and it is annoying. Most people expect very expensive products to be perfect. Do not you?

You cannot imagine what sh*tstorm would hit Mercedes if they released their flagship Maybach car with knocking engine or creaking seats. Silence is one of the most important defining parameters of a luxury car.

I just made a video demonstrating this:

Yeah I can say 100% my sample does not do this. But if this is common that sucks.. Thankfully Noctua's support is top notch regardless.
