mmkay goodbye piss-colored old soft tubing.

edit: I know that there's few "wrinkles" via tube getting slightly too hot, but I did hours of leak testing. That pink stuff under the pump-res is for minimizing the resonance.
Looks good, but this is why I don't liquid cool my systems, I couldn't build that system without TWO radiators as the thought of dumping hot coolant from the GPU straight into the CPU does my head in.

I'll get a 120mm rad to the rear ASAP. I have to admit that 240x45 is practically the bare minimum for my 5800X & RTX 3080 and I need to have a pretty aggressive fan curve. Luckily I play always with headphones :D

Oh, and those P12 slims are surprisingly fine for slim ones. Not gonna swap those at least now for 25mm thick ones.

The Phanteks G500A with the RTX 3070, and the 7700X cooled by the Arctic LFII 360 will keep me driving for a long time.

Next to do: figure a way to add the Valve Index base station.

Back to air cooling.. the cpu doesn’t notice, and the rest of my system is happier now that it can breathe..

I was almost worried...

Then I saw the Thermalright logo. Balance has been restored to the force.

Lol.. even my fans are Thermalright, minus the stock ones up front :)

They do make a pretty good AIO though, I can see the appeal.. but in a case like this everything else suffers with it installed.

And these fans are rigid.. very pleased with this setup..

I made a change with the monitor for Project DRS; my Dedicated Racing Setup
From the tiny 27 inch at 2560x1440p to the 34 inch 3440x1440p. So that does mean my main pc (sig rig) now uses the 27'er.

Looks very competent. How stable does it remain while highly actively using wheel, shifter, and pedals?

Going straight into one from the other makes almost no difference. The temperature differential from the two under normal conditions isn't huge and being a single loop means the coolant is going to reach an equilibrium temperature for both parts. You could shove an extra radiator in between, but it would probably only make a couple degrees difference at best since the radiator has size limitations if you're keeping it internal.

At least he isn't going to be "crucified" for soft tubing anymore.

The monitor stand is separate from the rest of the frame. So...very stable. And thank you. :)

Installed this MODDIY 12VHPWR (angled, EVGA (Superflower) ) cable. Looks better than the included adapter cable but I had some panic when the plug was 180 degrees the wrong direction (cable went upwards towards the heatsink), however I found you could pop the angled portion off the back that provides the bend and then flip it around and then gently pop it back on.

Yeah it is an improvement, now if the fans weren't poop colored or bright orange that would be great but I'll just ignore it.

The thing that bothers me the most is the RGB on the ram, I can turn it off with the bloatware but it comes back if I don't run the bloatware at start up. I can task kill the bloatware after running it, but still, I hate it on principle.

I can't see my computer so it doesn't bother me anymore I just let mine run at whatever is default.

I like rgb but I also like systems with no rgb equally.

Yeah I hope it wasn't an issue to bend them the other direction. It can't be any worse than the bend it came with though. The black plastic piece pops off and then I flipped it around and popped it back on.

Edit: Their customer service said it was within the intended purpose of the clip, so flipping it should be fine.

Because of instability issues, again , I replaced this pc with the i5-8600K and the MSI Z370i mobo, the gpu stayed the same.
Currently sitting pretty on the Streacom BC1 test bench but I'll give it a nice cover soon.
20240722_220234.jpg

PS: The previous system would always crash on "heavy" loads; aka races with max opponents in Project Cars 2 and Assetto Corsa, and added default amount of traffic in BeamNG.drive.
And now I'm tired, boss.

Because of instability issues, again , I replaced this pc with the i5-8600K and the MSI Z370i mobo, the gpu stayed the same.
Currently sitting pretty on the Streacom BC1 test bench but I'll give it a nice cover soon.

PS: The previous system would always crash on "heavy" loads; aka races with max opponents in Project Cars 2 and Assetto Corsa, and added default amount of traffic in BeamNG.drive.
And now I'm tired, boss.
Test system 2: Swapped the 5600X with the 5800X from the HTPC so I could test it for this project. It outperforms the 8600K by a lot, unsurprisingly, but it does get a bit hotter (I need to adjust the fan curve).

The B550 with the 5800x wins the test. Next to do is to install this in the Phanteks G500A.

Offset mount and liquid metal helps a fair bit with density of Zen in my experience. As does delidding/larger heatspreader.

Some directed soft lighting and lower angle (so we can see the hardware) will help your photos. You can adjust after in post (photoshop or whatever you like to use).

I have the same motherboard in one of my secondary rigs, with a 8600k and 32GB 3200 and Optane drive. Custom cooled with dual rads, etc. etc. I have it at 4.8ghz 24/7 oc.

Your system reminds me of a build I did close to 10 years ago. Pretty sure it was a X58 OC Gigabyte mobo with i7 990x and 290 xfire

Well, I just need to tweak some stuff in the bios, that's how I control the 7800X3D too.
The current cooler (be quiet!) doesn't have off-set mounting but the Arctic LFII360 does and I'm most likely gonna use that one.
I've never delidded a cpu and I'm a bit hesitant to do it with one that works.

And liquid metal is scary..

Or you could, you know, play with the PBO settings. I had no problems cooling my 5800X with Dark Rock 4 non-pro.
