7800X3D PPT

I know the PPT of a 7800X3D is 120W.

So why is mine running at 162?!?

I did manage to change the soc to 1.125 through Ryzen Master though instead of 1.3V now.

No, TDP is 120W. PPT is a different thing.

Here my 7800 XD HWInfo, CPUBoost_OFF/+XMP/ON/ON+XMP

SoC doesn't changes a bit (only XMP ON).

If it's due to motherboard, mine is B650E-E (Asus).

I am not sure exactly. But it is normal for tdp and real wattage to be different.

Examples for my own cpu's. My 5600X is a 65 watt tdp but in Ryzen master says 76 watt and my 5950X is a 105 watt tdp part of but Ryzen master says 141 watt. So i'll say its normal behaviour with that wattage of 165 watt on ppt

PPT (power limit) = TDP (random bullshit number) * 1.35, that is 120 W * 1.35 = 162 W on the 7800X3D. Don't worry, you'll never get anywhere near it.

I find RyzenMaster to be useless. I stopped using it years ago and uninstalled it since. Any CPU setting should be changed in UEFI/BIOS.
Check HWiNFO while running things to see if anything is wrong.

If an AMD CPU has a TDP of 120W then its max power (PPT) should be around 170W.

120W is a “declaration” of the minimum cooling capacity the CPU needs to operate on default settings and perform as advertised on specific ambient conditions.

It’s confusing I know but it is what it is…

Bios is locked for a lot of things. As in greyed out.

HWINFO was all normal.

They're not locked. If it shows "Auto" and does nothing when you click on it, you'll need to enter the numbers manually. For SoC, you'd click in it and type 1.125 (from your example). The options don't show up in a menu to choose from.
