Help with port forwarding

I've googled and found many guides that have fried my mind. Can someone explain a way to do this that doesn't make me not want to bother despite my moderate nat type.

Go to your routers web interface, go to port forwarding, input ports needed and point them at the IP that needs them forwarded, profit?

Basically, all COD games are moderate nat type and I've never had my own router to do this before.

Then its manual time. Thankfully we can get them from the source. There will be TCP ports and UDP ports. You will need to enter both. Thankfully, they list them in a format that is compatible with most routers. It should take it with no real problem. If it doesn't, it shouldnt be hard to enter manually regardless.

It’s a start. For the ranges instead of putting the “-“ you will just put the low number on the left and the high number on the right.

you will need to open all the ports they specify. It’s not a matter of just trying one.

I think you were on the right track but per the info COD link provided you need to make enough entries for all the required ports depending on the game and platform you are using.

mw3 is a duplicate entry. Your entry for Cold war2 already covers those ports.

It's makes it harder when the UI doesn't let the user know why they can't do something. When it comes to UI design I've come to find it's almost better to keep options enabled and if the user can't do something because of permissions or setup it's a much better experience for the user to then let them know why than to just leave them guessing without any kind of feedback.

It did work, but I am fatigued. Upnp was already enabled.

Sometimes it's just straight up impossible. My ISP used to keep the port forward settings on the local modem interface exactly where it belongs and then one day some squirrely update removed all of those options. I'm guessing some low IQ C-exec saw that people understood how to port forward to host games, couldn't personally deal with it and screeched to their ops to take it away in the form of website traffic, couldn't deal with THAT either and removed all options to migrate them into some shitty app that just errors out any time I want to port forward or DMZ a device. I've been struggling with this for ages. No solution.

You already have an entry for those external ports. Also arn't the internal port numbers supposed to match the external port numbers because essentially your trying to pass-though the traffic to the target pc on the same ports?

in other words this doesn't seem right to me unless you are specifying custom ports for your game for your internal network. (the items in red)

To better illustrate what I mean...For example lets say you have a webserver you want to expose from your internal network you might specify external port range 80-80 mapped to internal port range 80-80 to the given server on the internal network. Now if the webserver on the internal network was configured for port 60100 instead you would map external port range 80-80 to internal port range 60100-60100. Does this make sense?
