Well, my Chinese B650i motherboard has come in!

I now need RAM and a processor of course.

Has a single PCIe 1X for the network card sold separately (I use wired anyway).

Motherboard supports:
- PCIe 4.0 16x
- 2x NVME Gen 4
- USB 3.2 - 3 USB-A and 1 USB-C
- 2x USB 2.0
- 2 ARGB ports to really increase speeds when using RGB lights obviously
- DP and HDMI port

I plan to eventually get a Ryzen 7800 X3D which apparently some have used on this board that I have read. And 32GB of DDR5 7000 RAM.

As well, it is apparently Ryzen 9xxx series ready but with the latest bios update.

Nice specs. How's it run and how much was it?

So far it's faster responding than my S23 (Same SoC but only 8GB RAM).

I got it for a discount so I only paid £362 / 474USD but because the seller didn't fill out the ISSO paperwork I had to pay customs £23 / 30USD.

Even taxes and everything should be included from Aliexpress.

OriginOS is a bit weird and didn't manage to use a transfer tool but I got all my data (expect my drivers license app since my passport has expired) but now the layout of all my folders in the Gallery is fucked :(:banghead:

But other than that I been making some changes because the apps we use in the western world didn't show up on the lockscreen but that's because you have to manually activate notification per app, and the moment you unlock OriginOS all the old notifications are gone from the lockscreen but not the notification center :kookoo:

Besides these starting problems it actually runs great, it's fast, it comes with a 120W charger in the box  and since it's running OriginOS it should get is it 4 or 6 android majors according to information from Vivo I found a couple of month ago. (It looks like Android updates for OriginOS is better than a lot of other brands).

Doesn't the S23 use SD8G2, though? Your new phone uses SD8G3.

Got my scooter yesterday..

Amazon got me.

This scooter is locked to another account, and is also locked in ECO mode. Was missing 4 out of 6 machine screws that fasten the handle bars.

I have initiated my first Amazon return. I feel so used.

Pretty boring, but just another Best Buy purchase in the form of an ethernet cable.

1725458522213.png

I'm honestly shocked I survived so long without wired Internet. My uni apartment supports wired, but I've been dealing with the unreliable wireless until now. Lucky me that my mobo has Wi-Fi support, I guess. Regardless, 750-940 Mbps download speeds are gonna be a game changer.

Update: God, I love having ethernet. https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/d/7d1d2b81-193f-4c32-ada9-f3b55ee7e5e6

Wow! interesting product, you'll have to give us all an update on performance when you get it fired up. :)

Scored this today, EXPO certified (17/24 for week/year in CPU-Z SPD specs) sticks. Going to see how this EXPO profile holds up in real world testing on my X670E board with 9700X. The low VDD @ 6000MT/S CL38 was attractive. Hynix M die probably is my guess used here. Nice to see "Made in Taiwan" on this DDR5 memory kit. :)

My 7yr old trusty Essential Phone is finally getting to RIP like the company. Still snappy thanks to the crazy good specs for a $250 phone back in late 2017. Battery is about done, so my latest tech purchase is a 2023 model Moto G 5G. More than enough for what I use a phone for.

I have this weird feeling this might be the last soundcard I ever buy. I still have a few soundcards from SB Live! 5.1, Audigy2 ZS and Xonar HDAV1.3. I'll recap those crappy capacitor.

Got the new IKEA 30W USB-C charger, this thing.....has weight to it.....I mean I also have from Aliexpress and I can tell a difference. Dirty cheap at €7,16. Their dual-C charger suffers from the same issues though: can't charge two items at once or so I read. That's why I bought two single one's. The cables on the other side: only difference between the two I got is the braiding. No wattage written on them sadly. Only their 100W is proudly marked. I am not sure how much they supoport.

View attachment 361711
The issue isn't that you can't charge two items at once, all charges with multiple ports end up having reduced output if you plug in more than one device.
The IKEA dual port one is either 45 W for one port or 22 W per port if both ports are used.

As for non-labelled USB-C cables, they're limited to 60 W charging due lack of an E-Marker chip, which is needed to go above 60 W.

Wow! interesting product, you'll have to give us all an update on performance when you get it fired up. :)

I got the CL30 kit without EXPO, been a really solid memory kit. Unfortunately, it was only available in white, but I also don't have a window on my case, so it doesn't really matter.

This is normal if it works like that, because I have a cheapo dual output, that completely disconnects the second device. (which defeats the purpose of having a dual-port charger).

The G304 is great. Its battery life is out of this world on the single AA cell it uses.
Yes, this is my second mouse. I got one for my laptop and I’m still on my third battery in 2 years… I’m also using those cheap dollar store battery too

This is normal if it works like that, because I have a cheapo dual output, that completely disconnects the second device. (which defeats the purpose of having a dual-port charger).
Ah, yes, that's bad negotiation by the charging controller and shouldn't happen.
I have a couple of different multi-port chargers and none of them have that issue.

Finally caught a good sale price so pulled the trigger, and it arrived today. I'm playing around with it but there's a TON of settings. The resolution seems more favorable to my RX 6900XT than the pure 4K Samsung I was using. I love that it's huge!

Congrats! I still really like mine.

I did have one issue. Apparently I don't know my own strength and pushed the control joystick hard enough that it pushed back into the monitor case.

The good news is MSI replaced it with an entire new monitor within a week. The bad news is that I did have to pay to ship it to them. Thankfully they're close so it was only $20, but I'm glad I saved the box.

Well.. a little update with my scooter..

I think I am going to keep it. I got it out of eco mode and she is a ripper, at least compared to my old one. Got some machine screws for the bars so that I don’t die, and if worse comes to worst.. I can always hax it.
