Thanks, i managed to install both scenarios (DD and DTS) separatly, and test them.
The situation is exactly the same. Everything is working fine except Horizon Forbidden West
Seems this game uses some new sound output dependence in win 11, which is somehow incompatible with these encoders.
Strange though, that through HDMI it works fine.
sorry for the late reasponse however try useing fxsound with the ddp encoder enabled and hook fxsound to the device its a free virtual soundcard i had the same issue with overwatch 2 and fxsound fixed it but i have to use fxsound everytime i wanna play overwatch 2 with my 5.1 system

and its simple every game uses its own encoder some use lpcm some use directsound some use dolbys tech some use custom encoders so when a game supports object baced surround not just channel baced surround it cannot decode over spdif due to bandwith limitations however fxsound is seen by windows as a hdmi device bypassing any bandwith issues

aswell u well have to make windows see that fxsound is 5.1 under the configure tab in your sound settings just like you would with a hdmi device hope this helps :)

Thanks for trying to help, i tried this scenario, and the result is the same ) I even recorded video, though the sound on video was fine dispite me hearing tearing all over.
So it seems the sound coming out of the fxsound adapter is fine, as it is recorded on obsstudio w/o tearing. Problems start on my optical output.
Anyway, here is the video, at least you can check if i configured fxsound correctly.

Another question.
Im planning to try an analog connection to my reciever using 3.5mm to 2 x rca cables for 5.1 using realtek analog connection
Can i attach a DTS or DD audio enhancer to analog output? Does that make any sense?

Whats your preferred enhancer? As far as i understand i can use any of them on analog output, reciever gets analog signals anyway.
And another small question. Is there an option to get windows enhancments on analog output? Like the ones from Enhancments tab on HDMI, room correction, specifically.

So i tried different scenarios like HDMI and andlog audio, and quality of sound was much worse then on SPDIF with codec.

I managed to get horizon forbidden west to work practically w/o problems
The fix for my specific situation was:
Use Realtek Modded Audio Driver for Windows 10/11 - Only for HDAUDIO | TechPowerUp Forums
Install realtek APO (to get both DTS and DD)
For horizon game specifically switch to DD and enable Stereomix in mute mode, with listen to SPDIF, with maximum availible format. (strange thing that format on this adapter has a strong relation to distortions on SPDIF in this game specifically, meaning - higher format > less distortion) Same thing with DTS also work, but it still have hearable distortions even on max format of stereomix adapter. In dd bitrate shown on my reciever is 2x lower, and no distortion with same setting, so i think it is related.
For other games i use DTS, it has much better sound, and disable stereo mix, there are no problems in any game i tried (AC Odissey, Heady rain, Control, etc.)

that is odd could be the reltalk driver version your motherboard came with my laptop diddnt come with ddp but its brother dolby digital advanced audio because of this installing ddp was super easy and all works for me my laptop even came with the profile changer application preinstalled in my reltalk driver for ddp but sense i diddnt have ddp i had dda i dont have the dolby digital out feature useing stock drivers aswell im not modifying my reltalk drivers at all due to how my pc handles usb audio im useing microsofts usb audio driver for my device my pc says "dolby audio" on it and i can use dda still on my aux port i would check your motherboard out and see stock what audio formats it may support

and this is just speculation i dont know for sure if thats why it was easier for me to install however stock my pc only handles sterio audio and dolby digital advanced audio surround virtualization for built in speakers and headphones only wasnt until i found the apo drivers i linked before i could use 5.1 dd+ without haveing to edit the edie file of my hdmi device

Very weird, with my ALC S1220A and DTS DCH, Star Citizen works as expect without any special steps using DTS Interactive over SPDIF, 5.1.
I have stereo mix enabled always though, different reason, its to have a constant PCM stream active.

Edit: I can disable stereo mix, and it still works as expected.

It does seem like hardware, I know you have tried DTS DCH before with Horizon, I still remember and have been checking in on your posts.
Given you have tried various drivers and get the same fault, its either the Realtek or indeed somehow the Yamaha.

I suspect the Realtek you are using has a customized policy, and doesn't fully support encoding.

----

In some cases you can add APO's to a Windows driver, this will bypass the Realtek policy, as the MS driver wont read or use it.

I don't think there is a connector or device with such availability because it's a very extensive modding process that bypasses the manufacturer's device allocation for audio formats
I'm working on a method to unlock the following spatial sound formats for everyone, regardless of device and licenses.
"Dolby Atmos for built-in speakers"
"Dolby Atmos for Home Theater"
& "DTS:X for Home Theater"

but first i will finish a browser extension and merge my project with @emanresu 's and release it here in this forum.
other formats can already be unlocked with the help of modding knowledge and appropriate driver modifications, which can be downloaded here in the forum
for example, of course, your featured mod! and the mods by Ferather Alan Fox and Alan Finotty!

spdif formats
Hi, just a question about this. I have downloaded the patched version of realtek to force enable 5.1 dolby digital live but I would also like to enable Dolby Atmos for Home Theater at Spatial audio settings and from what I have seen on your post, it looks like you have managed to enable it but when I download the file and try and open it and use it, it just says 'Cannot Import Formats.reg. Error Accessing the Registry'. If anyone can help me fix this issue and use the reg file, I would really appreciate it!

Im back with some news ))
Recently i changed the board from aorus a520 elite to aorus b760m elite ax
After board change i started getting some over-powered bass, like in normal youtube videos with just voice my subwoofer was following the sound, like it was on center channel.

I tried reinstalling my previous setup from the
cleaning the system with driverstore explorer, but that didnt help.
So after an hour of trying various solutions, i came up with the same old driver i used on my pre-previous motherboard.

realtek r280 patched with 2015 realtek.hd.sound.driver-patch.exe
Magically it started working flawlessly again.
Im yet to check these games i had problems with earlier

It seems that cleaning the system more throughly with the help of FX Configurator did the trick so im back with the old setup of realtek APO from here Realtek Modded Audio Driver for Windows 10/11 - Only for HDAUDIO | TechPowerUp Forums
Loud bass was gone, and everything now is owrking fine, also i dont have audio skip in Horizon FW now. So it seems that was hardware related, though i think this board uses the same realtek audio, but they dont mention exact chip name.

Well after so much time I decided to change from tower speakers to a sound bar. Currently I have the Samsung HW-Q990D 11.1.4 CH, which is now officially compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS-X. I also changed the motherboard. Now I use the ROG STRIX Z790-E GAMING WIFI which comes with compatibility with DTS® Sound Unbound.

The truth is I wouldn't know what to tell you since my sound bar has discrete or real speakers, I don't virtualize any virtual speaker, in this bar including the 2 rear speakers there are a total of 11.1.4 real physical speakers.

right but im wondering even with your physical speakers dose the bar sound better lel my b prob should have explained a bit more

oh no atmos enabled speakers we call bouncy house channels due to theme bounceing off of surfaces to create the height channels

If you increase the volume level of the Atmos speaker to +2 it sounds more realistic since the bounce back to your ears is heard louder.

Also this is the mode I have Dolby Atmos enabled meaning speakers that emit sound towards the ceiling and then bounce back towards the floor

1727501590495.png

Most likely you are referring to this other way of installing Dolby Atmos speakers directly from the ceiling to the floor without the need for bounce

1727501654249.png

It is obvious that the second type of Dolby Atmos ceiling speakers will sound much more accurately and realistically when the speaker is in the ceiling.
