Today I'm sharing this driver which Solidigm promises performance improvements & more responsive user experience made by Solidigm. I have modded the driver to work on all NVMe SSDs and any NVMe SSDs, as long as it's NVMe.. this will work.

They got a feature called "Fast Lane" where they explain how it works as I quote...

"The Synergy 2.0 NVMe driver. Version 2.0 promises even more performance than previous versions. Solidigm describes its improved NVMe driver as follows: "An Intelligent and Responsive Storage Driver Compatible with all Solidigm client SSDs, the Solidigm Synergy Driver offers a variety of user experience optimizations. Fast Lane, a feature that learns what files are accessed most frequently and prioritizes them for faster access, maintaining performance as your drive fills up. When paired with the Solidigm P41 Plus SSD, users can expect up to 120% faster random read speeds even when the drive is at 50% capacity. Additional features include Smart Prefetch, which can improve game loads by accelerating sequential reads by up to 350%, and Dynamic Queue Assignment, which improves random writes by up to 20% for a more responsive user experience."

With the help from @AAF Optimus [Huge thanks for his tremendous help!] We have finally finalized and optimized INF driver. Give thanks to this legendary person for his guidance and optimizing the driver code.

Here's some pictures that Solidigm shared it to the public...

Test before & after and decide if you want to keep using this driver or not :) Focus on RND4K read/writes, that's what the Solidigm driver are focusing for ;) That's what is most important parameter for day to day usage. They are the ones that Windows typically uses [RND4K] in almost all kind of read/write operations.

Changelog:-
  • - Using the latest Soldigim version 2.3.0.1023
  • - Added a flag that forces Secondary Bus Reset event if it has sibling functions.
  • - Added a flag if a device generates errors that should be ignored during PLDR [Platform-level Device Reset (PLDR)]
  • - Added support for Forwarded IO
  • - Added keys to enable Fast Lane feature
  • - Added keys to enable Dynamic Queues feature
  • - Tweaked & Tuned InterruptCoalescing and IRQ routings
  • - Added keys to enable NvmeApst and use it
  • - Added keys to enable Nvme IO Queues and use it
  • - Allow interrupts on processors beyond group 0
  • - Make sure that the device's interrupts are of high priority.
  • - Make sure all processor in group are used to serve interrupt
  • - Add BypassIO_ACPI support

---F.A.Q---
- What is Forwarded IO?
Well, there isn't a well documented definition for it and what are the benefits for it but Windows in-box MS Stock SSD NVMe Driver already supports it by default, It's good to see the Solidigm driver already got support for it as well but they simply didn't want to use it and hence... I have enabled it & added the required flags for it.

I have found a links regarding "Forwarded IO" but I don't know if they are even talking about it or something else but I will share the link anyway here

- What is PLDR?
"Platform-level Device Reset (PLDR)
Platform-level Device Reset is for cases where FLDR cannot be used, or as a last-resort supplement to FLDR. This reset mechanism causes the device to be reported as missing from the bus (during a power cycle, for example) or affects multiple devices (such as a shared power rail or reset line among devices). The reset method is specified in the ACPI table, which might be implemented as toggling a dedicated reset line or power-cycling the D3 power resource. When PLDR is performed, the OS tears down and rebuilds the stacks of all affected devices to ensure everything starts from a pristine state."

- What is NVME ASPT?
APST is a feature that allows the NVMe controller (within the NVMe SSD) to switch between power management states autonomously. It can decide when to enter a different active power state, and support runtime D3 (RD3) for zero power idle state and fast resume.

- Where do I download it?
The new Solidigm driver is posted on the main post attachment.. go download it there! It has a tag name [New] on the file to avoid confusion and to separate it from older versions :toast:

  • If you are willing to continue then please be careful and mindful on each step... especially when doing the Uninstall Instructions. Notice that using apps like [Samsung Magician, Micron Storage Executive, Crucial Storage Executive, etc...] with solidigm custom driver might cause issues. I'm not responsible for any damages that result from the use of drivers that I will be providing to you. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

List of user reported NVMe drive models that can possibly lead to or cause BSOD:-

Install Instructions:-
  • Simply download the file from the attachment of this post.
  • Extract the .7z file. [Use 7zip]
  • Simply run setup.bat file & reboot!
  • Enjoy!

Uninstall Instructions:-
  • Get back to Microsoft Stock NVMe driver through device manager 1st.
  • Click on Driver Tab and then click on "Update Driver" and then click on "Browse my computer for drivers"
  • Then click on "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer" and then select on "Standard NVMe Express Controller" and then click on "Next"
  • Reboot
  • Then remove it through Rapr [It's named solidnvm.inf]. Get RAPR from here https://github.com/lostindark/DriverStoreExplorer

Notice:- The tag name [New] on the file name is the latest version while others are older version, I made it that way to avoid confusions :)

I have made two versions of it...
  • One is Solidigm driver without any modifications except making it work on all NVMe drives
  • Second one got the name tag [+Tunings] on the file name. Also works on all NVMe SSDs drives. I have added modded tunings that Samsung and Phison uses on there own NVMe drivers like transaction sizes, interrupt coalescing times, interrupt parameters, and performance parameters like transfer size and number of I/O queues ;)

Well, what I meant is that QLC drives sees a big benefit from it, which is clear from the tests above as well.
Solidigm didn't release it for the P44 Pro.

Solidigm didn't release it for the P44 Pro.
That’s not what Solidigm says in their driver manual:
The following NVMe drives are validated on the Solidigm Synergy™ driver:
• Intel SSD 665p
• Intel SSD 670p
• Solidigm™ P41 Plus
• Solidigm™ P44 Pro
Although, I personally never saw much of an improvement in real world terms with the Solidigm drivers on my P44 Pros.

@TheLostSwede the secret sauce is in the driver :) doesn't really matter what they are made for ;) most importantly the improvements is there! & can be measured too. I have tested it also on my Lexar NM790 which is TLC while Micron 2400 is QLC ones.. both tested on main OS for 2 months and not a single issue is seen :toast: with improved results.

There are two parts to the driver though. Fast Lane isn't support on their non QLC drives afaik.
I read about it when it was announced, but it obviously wouldn't install when I tried with my P44 Pro.

I'd like to say thank you for your hard work doing these things. I use your modded Intel Wi-Fi drivers on my laptop and see a huge benefit.

EDIT: I forgot about my caching software. Even if disabled, it is still in the storage layer. I removed it and restested and I'm seeing repeatable improvements in RND4K results.

There are repeatable increases at RND4K Q1T1, but write speeds decrease in every other metric for me.

Still, I seem to be the outlier. I'd like to say thank you for your hard work doing these things. I use your modded Intel Wi-Fi drivers on my laptop and see a huge benefit.
Quite a drop in write speeds, did you try the standard Solidigm one as well as the "+Tuned" ?

Looks like your first picture is from an earlier CDM run? theres a large increase in used drive space 68Gb Vs 121Gb you should really run them at the same time with the drive in the same state, as it's your OS drive also close all background apps and processes

Please see my edit, I forgot I still needed to remove my caching solution for accurate benchmarking results as setting it to disabled causes issues.

Yea, I wrote that before your edit appeared, wondered why your OP had disappeared lol still looks like you took the original SS when the drive was in a different state

Yeah, that was from last week when I was setting up my system. It's my baseline test when everything is in it's new state. It's what I compare everything to now after having experienced Solidigm's cache bug on their P44 Pro and the SK Hynix P41 Platinum.

It's comparing apples to oranges as this is your system/OS drive and is always changing as can be seen by the change in the drive use, you should run both tests in it's current state to get a true apples to apples comparison as the drive is now!

Solidigm Driver + Tunings has slightly better reads, but there's a big drop in AS-SSD's 4k-64 thrd write score which I don't know if I should be worried about ? Windows 10 boot is consistently quarter of a circle faster with Solidigm driver and few games I tried (Halo, TF2) might be a loading slightly faster but don't quote me on that. Thanks to OP for bringing this driver to our attention.

If I wanted to try Solidigm driver instead of Solidigm + Tunings driver I am using now, do I need to do the uninstall process from OP or I can just use the installer to overwrite the driver ?

I have made two versions of it...
  • One is Solidigm driver without any modifications except making it work on all NVMe drives
  • Second one got the name tag [+Tunings] on the file name. I have added modded tunings that Samsung and Phison uses on there own NVMe drivers like transaction sizes, interrupt coalescing times, interrupt parameters, and performance parameters like transfer size and number of I/O queues ;)

So the one for non-solidigm drives we should be using the non-tuned one?

So the one for non-solidigm drives we should be using the non-tuned one?
Both work on all NVMe SSDs :) the reason behind that I did two versions is peoples request and in order to satisfy both people... I created two versions of it :)

My recommendation... I would advice to get the tuned one to squeeze out the best performance ;) bec. most people got the most performance improvements when using the tuned ones.

Kingston Fury Renegade 2TB

You need to do the uninstall procedures , sorry for late reply... :( for some reason the website didn't notify me about your post and even other people's posts :banghead:
Thank you, I really appreciate it :respect:

I'd like to say thank you for your hard work doing these things. I use your modded Intel Wi-Fi drivers on my laptop and see a huge benefit.

EDIT: I forgot about my caching software. Even if disabled, it is still in the storage layer. I removed it and restested and I'm seeing repeatable improvements in RND4K results.
Thank you for your time and sharing your results :respect: I'm thankful for your kindness :)

Those 4k improvements are worthwhile :toast:
I tweak my CPU, RAM, GPU, why not SSD :rockout:
Thank you so much for your kindness and your support. I really appreciate it :respect:

I'm happy to help whenever I can :) thank you for your time providing those results :respect:

Alright. I think you should edit the original post and clarify that both drivers will work with all drives but one is performance tuned one.

Because I installed the tuned one on my HP laptop then read that one was for all NvMe drives (which i took to be the non-tuned driver) but by then I had already restarted so my butt started to clench up real hard hoping that I didnt completely destroy my W11 install.

  • One is Solidigm driver without any modifications except making it work on all NVMe drives
  • Second one got the name tag [+Tunings] on the file name. Also works on all NVMe SSDs drives.

I'm really sorry for this, I thought the title of the post was enough to clarify that it works on all NVMe SSDs drives. I edited the post already and said on each version works on all NVMe SSDs drives :)

Sorry for causing any inconveniences :( forgive me for that :banghead: :fear:
