Not an old Pic, ran this last night.
50% OC from base clock 2.5ghz.

Might as well include CBR20, I went 3 pages back didn't see a thread.

At 4898mhz, seems happy at this frequency. 5ghz is edgy less than 1.55v-core.

2208pts
A lot slower than a 14100F quad core though.

How many hours have you tuned that 7800X3D for?!?!? I've got 18300 on R23, but I hit 85C with my little PA120, not redline the crap out of it lol.
Since ~ April 2023 off / on.

Decent cooling, eCLK ( 105 for me ), finding the optimal LLC ( 7 in my case on an ASUS MB ) & "Boost Clock Limit" which in my case is (-) 150 MHz or 5150 MHz which is stable.

Anyway, you're doing alright at 18300 pts for R23, this is about what my CPU score stock on my 360mm AIO.

Obligatory post for the new CPU. Just PBO with nothing fancy (PPT 170W, TDC 118A, EDC 165A)

I tried those settings and I got the same-ish score. I guess I'd need CO for it to matter, or a positive offset on PBO clocks

EDIT: 200/120/180 with CO -5 gave me a better score:

1728955900202.png

Tried -5 CO with your settings and I couldn't get more than 22k, so I think limiting TDC is a better play. Cooling was a non-issue with either setting (70~75C)

Had a bit of playtime with the baby Epyc today... :D
Sadly, it's a fairly weak CPU, no DDR5-6400, but it does at least DDR5-6200 at 1.2V Vsoc. The SP rating is only a 106.

Memory is basically on auto (except for some corrected nonsense timings from Asus, VDD & VDDQ = 1.65V, VDDIO = 1.45V), CPU is on PBO (142W PPT preset, freq override +200), and 102.6 MHz ECLK. The cooler is an Arctic Liquid Freezer III with stock fans.

It looks like AMD didn't actually bother locking these CPUs down by fusing anything off. It feels more like a Ryzen 3 7100 than anything that deserves the name Epyc.

The little CPU that could.

So many programs now expect at least 6 cores that a 4 core CPU would decidedly be limiting

I'm pretty much covered in the core department when it comes to my primary machines. :p

This one is for a small project that's more about energy efficiency, which the little one does quite well so far. For the moment, it's just a bench toy until I get the rest of the parts. It would be fun to push the CPU over 11k in CB R23 while waiting.

Here’s an interesting tidbit, my Intel i9-7920x introduced in Q3/17 scored 17052 in R23. Beating the Threadripper 1950x also introduced Q3/17. I had a mild overclock of 4.4Ghz. It did get a bit hot on a few cores, may do a re-paste before I proceed with a 10 minute stress test. Changed up from a 7820x for $100. I thought that was reasonable for an upgrade from 8c/16t to 12c/24t. You can see the R23 scores for my old 7820x.
