Benched practically all of my PCIe GPUs (excluding RTX 3080 & RX 6700 XT which are in use) in my collection. For some cards, Win10 wasn't the best OS as you can see from the scores.

About GCN not having 3DMark 01 scores :
You probably have to decrease max. number of CPUs for 3DMark01SE bench thread to 1 (doesn't matter which one) for program to start. But I'm just assuming it was the issue though.

PS. You have to change it before program loads to certain point (when RAM usage keeps increasing, you are good - however when it stops and you still didn't change it, you failed).

Good to know in the future, I also thought that it must be GCN issue because on both cards, 2001SE didn't even launch (the process was just hanging on task manager doing nothing)

Put together a X58 mATX box :) just need to put more RAM, this 3x2GB kit is just for testing.

I thought you got a 6core for that system, or am I thinking of someone else?

My R9 Nano was looking a little lonely so I decided to buy it a friend.

1000012608.jpg

1000012626.jpg

Got this R9 Fury X from an eBay auction. The rubber coating degraded and was all sticky. All of the Styrofoam in the box it was thrown into stuck to it, and got in the radiator and under the shroud.
1000012616.jpg
1000012615.jpg

Took some work and alcohol but I got all of the degraded rubber coating completely removed, removed the shroud and got the Styrofoam out, and cleaned up the radiator.

1000012598.jpg

Card appears to work well. Ran fire strike just fine. May try and CF this and the R9 Nano.

GPU test bench coming together, next to find the appropriate PSU cables, dig up a 120/240gb SSD, some DDR2 667 and get XP installed on it.

Then perhaps the most challenging part, finding a place for it to live in the house all set up so I can spend my nerdy nights in enjoying a drink and testing / benching old GPU's. I could probably stand to get rid of a few that are duplicates or don't work, that or at elats store them separately for any useful parts, like coolers.

That's the one, should let me test basically everything I own (at least to show it works) except very early AGP cards that are keyed differently.

Looks like the only thing to worry about, are bad caps on the motherboard or in the PSU. Usually bad secondaries.

I used this as a standard part of every XP install I did BITD.
As mentioned in the video, anyone wanting to try this out on their XP machines can follow the link below;
Shout-Out to MajorGeeks for being one of the THEE best program and file repositories on Earth!
Did you add this to the Integral XP that you gave me a link to ?Or did you do it on a non Integral one? o_O

Yesterday I connected a 32-year-old 125MB Western Digital Caviar 3.5-inch hard drive to a modern socket 1700 motherboard, and it still works perfectly. I was able to access the data on it. It was manufactured in 1992 and last used in 2002.
Wow that,s amazing ,that something like a old hard drive of that age still works o_O

I have a 8088 XT with 21MB MFM from Kalok that still works like new.
I would love to hear a "sound test" of that HDD spinning up and running a defrag or something. People do that with keyboards these days, so why not HDDs?

Hard drives from pre-1998=TMK, SMART didn't even exist! It was of course normal for the OS to also see bad blocks, if any.
Also, we're likely talking about a hard drive that's PIO-mode-only! As it's from 1992, which will be the days of Windows 3.1! Likely that MS-DOS 6 wasn't even released yet. So unless DOS was upgraded, it probably has MS-DOS 5x. And of course, years away from FAT32, there would be FAT16. (unless FAT12, but that's for floppies, IIRC)

No, I'm using Integral Edition. It the easiest to install and use.
