For the overclock, I would be perfectly happy with an all core clock of 4.5, but I'd even be ok with 4.3.
With that board and the right settings you should be able to get 4.3 stable, however, that will not be at stock voltage. Be ready to bump the voltage up. Shouldn't take too much but you should expect to give it at least a .085v and maybe even .1v. That may not seem like a lot but it can be if your cooling is not very good. I would recommend an 240AIO minimum. A 280/360 would be better. Speaking of, what cooling solution are you going to use?

I ordered both the board and the CPU. For the overclock, I would be perfectly happy with an all core clock of 4.5, but I'd even be ok with 4.3.

Hey, thanks for the info! I play with generative AI stuff that often eats a lot of ram so I'd like to have plenty as well, but the 1004 bios is pretty old, I'll have to look at all the changes since then... I wonder if a modded bios could be made. Do you know if the newer bios versions can handle more than 128gb of standard non-ECC ram?
I modded my bios so that Rbar/SAM could work and now it's working I just made the same changes as it was described for the older platforms (X99,X79 HERE)I guess probably some other changes could be made also if you know exactly what you doing but I didn't play with anything else also if you want to upload some older bios or moded bios you gonna need to do via USB-flash button(on your mobo) because it will not start if you try to upload in the bios or from the system.....

When it comes to the ram I never tried standard ram on this platform so no idea if more than 128Gb could work if I could guess I will said Yes it should because there is no reason why not except IF they purposely blocked in the bios(which could be possible) but also you gonna need to find 32gb sticks for that experiment not sure if they exist and how much money they cost.....

OC is really fun on this platform especially if you have time and will to play around my advice is to OC cores individually because in my experience some cores can reach easily higher clocks from another also some cores will work on lower V and so on....My 7940X works from 4,1Ghz on few cores all the way up to the 4,7Ghz on other and many in between and results are pretty damn good....

Could you help me with doing this? I have a Xeon 3175X (28/56) and an Asus Dominus Extreme LGA3647 motherboard. I’m using 192GB DDR4 3800cl14 in Hexa channel, and a RTX4090 Gaming OC.

I don’t have any Rebar support, and I’m not really sure where to start with this. Otherwise, the platform works great in 4K gaming for the time being. I don’t have any issues pushing the 4090 completely to full GPU usage. But I would like to figure out how to get Rebar working.

Hmmm I am not sure if modding the bios is going to work on that mobo but you can check and try it at your own risk by inserting the line that can activate the RBar it might work but even then most likely only at 1024Mb 'tho this is much better then usual 250Mb on default when rbar is off.....either way gains with Rbar are Ok but nothing spectacular so if you do not want to risk and if you don't know how to do it just don't do it...GL

Well, I actually have a spare Dominus motherboard and two bios switches on each one lol. So I’ll definitely give it a try.

I have seen no reports of anyone ever getting it working.

Anything special about the C621 chipset that prevents this?

Wanted to post here because I feel like it’s pretty much X299 system in a way. I owned a 7980XE back in 2020 era and it seems identical with only slight differences.

Well then just follow the instruction how to add FFS module HERE far as I remember you will just need to add one line in bios and then later download program ReBarState that will allow you to turn ON/OFF rebar from the system my advice is to go only up to 1024Mb as this was working on all mobo that I tried X79 and X299 trying to go higher than this you will need to have other things unlocked in bios like 4G decoding and maybe some other changes in bios itself.....GL

Okay, thanks! I already have 4G Decoding in the bios by default.

I’ll give this a try later today.

Hi I noticed you are using an older Microcode on a newer BIOS, if you're kind enough, can you drop a copy of that BIOS, as I am also getting this motherboard for a server build I plan doing else can you point me how to do it myself?

10940@ 125mhz FSB to get lil bit more pcie and single core cuz of my 4080 also got 3070 as second gpu
running it on an MSI X299 Pro with 256gig Gskill Ripjaws 5 and a Corsair MP600 Pro NH 2Tb boot ssd
This system slaps so hard its amacing
i mean butgersmooth videoediting multitaskign and gaming all at once
especially with me gottn into warzone in mw3 which is amacign at 1440p ultrawide highest settings at 300fps, even X3D chips cant do that ☺️ shows how good and underestimated thos chips really are, even if youre just buildign a gaming pc our of X299 you can cheat your way into DDR 5 be ause quadchannel BABYYY you know? and AVX 512 is used when shader install in COD ive noticed that beign a lot faster then anything mainstream ive used, its quiet, yeah, i recommend x299 to a lot of people because the possebilities are endless
show me your R9 7950x with alltho not 256 but 192gigs of dualchannel ram run 2 or more gpus with a ton of nvmes for Davinci resolve? Right, you CANT !! ✌️ despite that mainstream dosent have real 512 either its just that nasty 512F and thats, well you know the rest

That's impressive! Didn't know X299 could do that.
On another forum which I also post, these aren't really getting obsolete, these x299 plus 10980XE's can crush even the 285k in gaming..

Plenty enough bandwidth specially quad channel DDR4 4000MT's, Re-Bar support, and those plentyful PCI-E lanes.

well THATS a reply i like hehe yeah, one thing going for it is REAL cores, no big lil crap, then no Infinitivfabric x3d nonsense, classic cores and no core to core latency

funny thing is ive had a 7820x begore that to replace my aging second pc with a 2600k in it, (yuck^^) to that amacing Asus Rog Strix x299-e gaming and the cpu, 32gigs for 300€ plus a nice 280 watercooler and yep my mainsystem with a R7 5700G got destroyed (was playign a lot of cod vanguard at that time and despite same settign and everything from 180 to 150 or so it still feld smoother and yeah tha quadchannel is a good neat quiet friend ☺️

lotz of it is just modding and screwing arround but there she is, the heater, the Ghettoworkz love it that way alltho i gave up makign it a bit cleaner with the fakes and everything but what evs, this machine needs to work at the end of the day its mostly a workstation but at the end of it i game on it

Like what I say to everywhere I post, there's more than just gaming for my PC usage, and that reason alone is enough NOT to get me a X3D OP chip, tides will only turn when AMD decides to make the X3D an all rounder chip with a higher core count around 24(48Threads with their SMT) cores on mainstream Desktop.

heck yeah but but then again man, no quadchannel, no AVX 512 and if u wanted to do 2 or more gpus like me for davinci resolve, that really doubles or tripples your renderspeed and possebilities, let alone more vram that gets counted as you think it will be u canno on mainstream, not enouth lanes it will not even post in some scenarios...
i mean heck :) on some boards there is place for 3 GPUS and even an hyper m.2 because most board only got 2 or 3 nvme slots unlike mainstream today with 5 flippin slots on it, that then again cant really be used all at once and top speed cuz of the lanes, oh ^^ xD thehe
On x299 tho?? pff no problemo,, i give yall a tip:
Go set the bios to default setrings and see if you can put your BCLOCK to 125 or so mhz, that will change everything :D a lot more of tht sertain snappish that X299 has over mainstream
Pls dont further OC is realy, X299 becomes unstable really fast which is not good on a workstation pc which you rely on :)
btw to me X299 always had a bmdifferent responsiveness and overall feel wehn using such machine then anything else, not better or worse but different and i like it that way, imagine a i9 15980xe or so, intel could, then its just DDR4 and PCIE 3.0 who cares? :*

i will get a alphacool black for my 4080 so i have a bit more room for the pcie slot under it for an Hyper m.2 cuz its soooo friggin close to it it half blocks the fans on it, uff terrable, alltho that migth not be a problem oafterall the cooler on my MSI VENTUS 3X is a beast, no rgb money put in, no sleak design but mroe practical mroe blacked out industrial sh*t that does work and worl, cards like 50c at 1440p gaming thats dope
btw im owner of two runnign and working x299 systems for almost 2 years now so i think i know how they work hehe ^^

Anyone else building x299 or C621/C622 here in 2024?
well we all should and replace out AM4 or so with it like i did even with a 5700G which was a damn quick cpu but very very VERY limiting, and well for gaming on 8 cores? yuck, warzone or some crazy like that just pls dont, get lower but smoother fps thanks to more cores being use or free for different tasks.
The minute something else wants to do something there are free resurces idly waiting for something to do and then you wont get a 1% low frametime hitch

best one so far im also effd up now that i could do this 10940 vs R9 7950 :D benefit also AVX512, better bandwith in memory cuz of quad channel and single CCD with 14 cores :D un like the guy below me ;)

I just wonder if Intel have baked the AVX512 IS to alder lake and newer processors, they can really get rid of HT for that uplift

I just wonder if Intel have baked the AVX512 IS to alder lake and newer processors, they can really get rid of HT for that uplift

Early batches (with the round Intel logo) only, and only if the E-cores are disabled and CPU is deliberately running an earlier microcode version that exposes AVX-512 support.

Later make 12th's with the square Intel logo + all 13th and 14th gen can't enable it since it's fused off at the core, this makes Skylake/Cascade Lake-X the only processor which has both the core count and AVX512 support. Tiger Lake and Rocket Lake support it, but they don't go >8 cores and don't have >2ch mem support.
