Let's have one match of NHL98 against the console, me with Rangers against Avalanche. 20min periods, pro difficulty, just offsides off as I hate that.

Feels just so weird that I have Pocketstation as memorycard, luckily it's easy to buy some Japan-only stuff from ebay. That thing looks hella dope on my PS2!

"Ruru/Chloe, why you don't play with that silver Dualshock 2?", I'll use this black one until it needs service, then I'll use the silver one, then I'll fix them both at the same time. Those ones in the back are an OG PS1 controller and a PSOne (pun intended) one.

edit: Won 5-2, Gretzky scored one goal and the last one was by Tikkanen to empty goal as CPU got rid of the goaltender at the last minute.

So... quick question... is Homeworld 3 worth it at this point, or has the game just sat in limbo since its meh release? I kinda want to avoid having to return another game after Space Marine 2 lol

Checking out the latest update in Cyberpunk 2077. John Wick shares the ride now when you're cruising and perusing. I haven't tried the car color swap yet..need a different ride for that.

Depends on the price and how much you like the series and SpaceRTS games in general. It's not for everyone, but is a very cinematic solid title for sure.

Well at launch the game had its issues most notably on the UI front and overall playability, logic, mechanics. I'm curious if anyone can shine light on changes there.

Dune Spice Wars. I was hesitant at first to get this but after getting it on sale it seems it may be quite good after playing it for a few hours yesterday. I immediately missed the simplicity of Dune 2000 on PC but the various ways to play this new game make it interesting but somewhat of a challenge to play just in the learning curve alone.

Hehe I thought the same but it quickly burned out for me. Combat is just so odd. As long as you're learning and discovering, its cool though, pretty immersive.

There have been some big patches to the game over time since launch. It might be worth a look at the change log. I haven't had a chance to play it much since launch so I can't say if they've been a tremendous help or not.

It went from mostly negative to mixed on steam but even at 50% or €30 it feels too much. I love(d) the 1st game but got dissapointed by the second, and the desert one...so I'm very hesitant to buy it now.

Tried out dying light 2 last night and the first hour was super meh....
Hopefully the pace picks up later
It does, the first hour these a lot of tuition for new players, but wait until you get towards the later parts of the MQ & have to use the grapple hook to proceed further - its a game breaking bug imo compared to how the grapple hook worked in the first Dying Light.
I don't understand why devs have to change things from the tools (grapple hook) primary purpose just for the sake of "change". It ruined the whole game for me.

There are workarounds, with mods. But it pissed me off & broke it for me.

Alright, let's start FF VII on PC with only using initial equipment. I have no idea would this be hard*, but at least I'm sure this offers challenge. And no accessories either ;)

*at least IX on initial gear seems to be hard since my friend played it like that. Should ask that did he finish it though.

The community challenges for some Final Fantasy games are a rabbit hole I have yet to go down, but would like to one day, at least for some of them. In Final Fantasy X, there's stuff like the no sphere grid. In Final Fantasy IX, there's stuff like the level 1 (possible since bosses don't give experience and you flee from random encounters) or single character challenge (and this one is probably in most of them). In Final Fantasy V, there's the "job fiesta" where you pick a single class for all four characters and sticking with it. You would think I would have done some of this in at least Final Fantasy IX given how many hours I've put into that one in particular, but... I have yet to. I've always had fun just experiencing the game the natural way. A lot of them seem to lean so far against pushing what is technically possible that they become exercises in frustration because you're more at the mercy of the RNG then.

Should try a FF VIII low level run sooner or later. Never beat Jecht in FF X NSG, dammit.

Currently going to Temple of the Ancients on FF VII. Died only once so far, with the Corneo's boss in Wutai since Yuffie took my materia so I had to kill it with damage-dealing items and actually use one megalixir.

So... Homeworld 3. It reminds me of Planetary Annihilation. Solid mechanics. Its always unclear whether its a good idea to macro- or actually micro a lot, but if you do the latter, take into account the game's odd responsiveness, basically, and don't forget to keep building. Maybe I'm just not good enough at it yet, but I often found myself missing out on critical events/timing and reordering units properly. Something that's easy to do in PA, as well.

It also shares with PA that units quickly feel 'basic' and the spectacle is there, but kind of muted. There are a lot of units on screen. A lot of effects are 'small', though there are some larger explosions. The camera takes getting used to, and tends to do things you didn't quite want from time to time especially when switching between tactical and regular view. The flying in and through structures, while yes, does offer tactical changes.... only really works well in campaign / scripted missions so far.

It looks great. I just feel like a lot of what you build doesn't quite show off as nicely as it should. If I compare the combat sequences to say, Sins of a Solar Empire, Sins does it better (even part 1) in making space combat feel truly alive. In Homeworld its all there, too, but the camera struggle kinda keeps you away from it, and the ship weapons aren't quite as impressive. Ships are also not quite so interesting, every type has an upgrade or active ability, and that's about all they write.

Replayed Borderlands, game is as good as I remembered. A stark contrast of newer Borderlands. I hope the upcoming 4 would follow this game footsteps. The joke in this game made us laugh instead of them laughing at their own joke.

I continued from the last save of The Outer Worlds, just wanted to give it a second chance. I like idle talk between companion. Game wasn't so bad and doing companion quest is great actually.
