So far yes. Might be just some change that requires a bit of time to find the way to read the value or something. Hopefully it's not another situation like ASIC quality going the way of the dodo on nvidia cards..

I will quote your post here and will wait till the 5070ti is released, just to prove my point that a 5070ti 16gb will never be "double the performance" x 3080 10gb in raw performance. I will bookmark this.

It likely is though, as it is not in nvidias or aibs interest that you can read it... less people aware that their card has a shit tim application = fewer rma's.

At 1440p 5070 ti will likely be about 70% faster than 3080 10gb.

I gotta be honest, i dont have any need to upgrade right now. new games just havent made me care about them enough lately. the newest things ive been playing are bannerlord and red dead 2. its not like the 00s or the 10s where something great would come out every 6 months that pushed the boundaries.
upgrading hardware stops being fun when theres nothing you care about to run on it.
