Axelay is good but cannot hold a Candle to Colony Wars much less Colony Wars 2. In my opinion. Top Gear is also a real Gem on the SNES and Top Gear 2 again was better.

I still remember the first time I tried a Sniper Game. Medal of Honor meets Metal Gear with some killer Graphics that you can't have your 7 year old see.
The first Sniper Elite game is VERY different from all the rest. Considerably harder and more realistic as well.

Maybe it's age, but I've grown to absolutely love this whole movie/game genre for how it focuses on characters, dialogue, story and exploration.
Alan Wake II, Hellblade II and now Indiana Jones have been the best games I played in the last 12 months.
It is interesting how people react differently to art as they age. I have been gravitating more and more towards simpler graphical games that focus more on the gameplay loop, titles like Hades 1/2 and Stardew Valley and adventure games, even the new Doom games vs the big cinematic games. Easier to get in and out of.

Back to 1997, I replayed back of original Gran Turismo emulated on PC using DuckStation. I only played a handful of hours back then compared to thousands of hours in 2. My, this game really plays differently from the 2, I felt this game is closer to Ridge Racer Type 4 I finished earlier in terms of driving dynamics than the 2, and 2 feels more like racing sims, this feels more like an arcade. Still, I enjoyed playing it and good music soundtrack compliments the gameplay. I noticed that most, if not all PS1 games have great OST.

I'm rather different, I play on easy/story difficulty for the most part, enjoy the story/exploration without the need to devote the time for upgrading skills/gear. I very much enjoy graphics though, RT/PT included, for cinematic qualities of the game. IMO realistic graphics add to immersion the same way a good story does.

So, after 100%-ting Amnesia: The Bunker, I've decided to go back to Talos Principle 2. Not the full achievement hunt, but just to finish up DLC.
Currently going through The Abbys, and lemme tell ya - those puzzles are much harder than the base game. Croteam did an excellent job on these, and I really like all the cool new mechanics that are randomly scattered throughout some puzzles(rotating ring is the coolest one for me personally, but two giant spheres were also kinda cool, just a tad too easy comparing to everything else in this DLC).

Looking forward to your Shogun 2 adventures. If you want a harder game, pick one of the factions that are located in the middle of Japan instead of either end of the island chain.

Shogun 2 was that good. I loved the Rise of the Samurai DLC and that was the first Game where I discovered Radious. Having all Ninja and Monk armies was insane.

You really missed out. The SNES, and the 16bit era in general, was golden age of gaming.
I definitely didn't miss out on the console (although I wasn't playing games as much back then, so some of my experience came later), but I just didn't play/know anything about those games in particular.

The ones that I remember most are ones like Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario All Stars, Super Mario World RPG (!) Donkey Kong Country (I never did completely play the sequels though), Goof Troop (nobody remembers this one but it was so good!), Final Fantasy IV and VI (known as II and III in NA at the time), Chrono Trigger, Illusion of Gaia (I remember bouncing off of this one at the time and then later found out it was a spiritual predecessor of sorts of one I would play later), Terranigma (the one I played later), Taz-Mania (I let not-often-seen family borrow it and... I never got it back, haha), Super Metroid, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Harvest Moon, and Yoshi's Island (I was disappointed in the gameplay of this one at the time but maybe that was because I was expecting more Mario, but I remember loving the style of the graphics).

I see "Denuvo", I actively avoid.

Fair enough! :toast: Please forgive my assumption.. :banghead:

Terranigma (the one I played later)
Hell yes! :rockout: We missed out on that one in North America. For those tenacious enough, we found a way! Glad you got to play it!

From what I remember, and maybe this is partly wrong, but Europe and Australia got Terranigma whereas NA didn't (but NA did get the other two in the so-called "spiritual trilogy", Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia), but then NA got Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IV (released as II) and VI (released as III) whereas Europe and/or Australia didn't get some or perhaps any of those. I know Chrono Trigger wasn't in Europe.

Today's gaming market has its own issues, and even accessibility isn't perfect, but thank goodness it's a bit better than it used to be.

Trying Cysis, first looks to not have taken me, i buyed my first PC back in 2005 for Far Cry 1, it looks like another/different clone, same all with the tech added, i even prefered the second's gameplay, i won't play first bc it reminds me too much of the old good FC but... differently... i'd replay Far Cry 1 if there was even a simple remaster really much more easyly than starting to play Crysis 1.

Crysis 2 looks like an Hollywood production... i'll try Crysis 3 and perhaps it will be the one i playthrough depending of how it renders compared to two, and gameplay wise.

I knew when Crysis was out that i had enough with Far Cry, and finally i have no regrets to have played Far Cry and not Crysis (my first PC, AMD 3200 lol).

I played the first Far Cry for the first and last time in December, 2013. I finished it. I played it with a Wolfdale on my Asus Maximus II Gene motherboard, IIRC. (45 nm Core 2 Duo) (motherboard from 2009, making it a very-late socket 775 run!) (and E8400 C0, which was a very-early Wolfdale, has the thermal sensor bug where it stays no lower or much lower than 45C at idle, LOL)
So definitely not with my socket 462 build, even if I didn't see bad caps yet. The Asus A7N8X-X got bad caps shortly after, if not already! (motherboard made in 2004, making it a very-late socket 462 run)

I watched the Crysis YT movie, so ht i know the plot, OMG it's UFO story ididn't know,the two looks have all story, interesting, three IDK for now i'll look at YT after, but i'll skip one, then play the two and three, looks like.

This mod does his job right :

The mod makes following changes to Crysis 2 Remastered:
Increased amount of carried ammo;
Player can carry 4 firearms at same time (instead of 2 at vanilla);
A shooting spread is reduced where necessary, so that all weapons match each other. The spread at rapid firing is same as at single shots mode;
Increased the weapons damage where necessary, including damage with a silencer, so that all weapons match each other;
The weapons have same damage and same damage drop with distance when firing in bursts and single shots (including shooting with silencer);
The weapon damage from AI to player is same as from the player to AI;
The muzzle flashes are reduced by several times and now the whole screen doesn't flickering when shooting;
The weapons in hand is held a little further from the face than at vanilla game (credits to abi008 - the author of Smaller Viewmodels mod for weapons coordinates);
Fixed a bug in laser sights;
Driving the vehicles from the 1st person;
Increased a drawing range, removed decreasing the level of detail(LOD), the decals does not disappearing much longer, removed a screen noise;
In the nanosuit, the perks are redistributed into groups so that you can simultaneously include the most interesting ones;
Reduced dead bodies fading;
Removed unlimited enemies respawn;
Skipping the starting intro videos.
