I tried the updated 2.21 of Cyberpunk2077 update. The transformer model indeed looks way better, and generally game is much smoother and felt more polished. Settings is all RT ON with DLSS set at quality with 0.5 sharpness. Started a new game of course.

Alien Isolation, the game runs buttery smooth on my modest pc on ultra settings and looks better than some current gen games.

played this game more than a decade when it released, got reminded by this interesting video. I totally agree with this guy.

You can get rid of the Aliasing totlally by using that (better than DLDSR, yes) :

Yeah, AA is good only by AliasIso in Alien Iso, anyway if you had problems with the ASI latest fork, you could have used the good old original or if needed the Epic's fork (yeah, Epic's store needed forked, worked better than original o, GOG's for some).

Instructions are always the same :

Anti-aliasingSMAA T1x
Chromatic AberrationDisabled
Motion BlurEnabled

Trying Cysis, first looks to not have taken me, i buyed my first PC back in 2005 for Far Cry 1, it looks like another/different clone, same all with the tech added, i even prefered the second's gameplay, i won't play first bc it reminds me too much of the old good FC but... differently... i'd replay Far Cry 1 if there was even a simple remaster really much more easyly than starting to play Crysis 1.

Crysis 2 looks like an Hollywood production... i'll try Crysis 3 and perhaps it will be the one i playthrough depending of how it renders compared to two, and gameplay wise.

I knew when Crysis was out that i had enough with Far Cry, and finally i have no regrets to have played Far Cry and not Crysis (my first PC, AMD 3200 lol).
Crysis is definitely not a FC clone. If you're going to skip, at least seek out synopsis story for it. I still feel you are missing out on the gameplay aspect, which is nothing like FC.

True!

I thought you folks got those too? Maybe not?..

WHAT?!? Oh that sucks! Ok, I feel bad for you folks now. That truly unfortunate... :(
For clarity, I'm in NA.

Europe may have (probably did?) gotten both Illusion of Gaia and Soul Blazer. I was just highlighting how NA did get those, but not Terranigma, since those three are sort-of-but-not-officially in a trilogy of sorts.

So basically, NA missed out on Terranigma and Europe/Australia missed out on Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy II/III. This is part of why Final Fantasy VII was such a big deal; not only was it a big tech jump but it was also the first entry to be globally released and it was hyped to no end. Otherwise, the series was mostly limited to Japan before then and the only exception was NA getting Final Fantasy I, IV, and VI (the latter two renamed to II and III for... reasons). The original Final Fantasy II and III, and V, never saw releases outside Japan until later.

The jungle, Far Cry having been THE game before Crysis... yes it's really a more realistic render, but it feels exactly the same ambiance, same "pace"...

As i have a verry good memory of playing FC1, i'll skip Crysis 1, it didn't catch me at all while trying it, but i watched the plot on YT, then i'm interested in playing 2 & 3.

I turn some stuff off for 1440p in Cyberpunk 2077, because the effects seemed to mostly just cause loss of FPS.

Back to 1997, I replayed back of original Gran Turismo emulated on PC using DuckStation. I only played a handful of hours back then compared to thousands of hours in 2. My, this game really plays differently from the 2, I felt this game is closer to Ridge Racer Type 4 I finished earlier in terms of driving dynamics than the 2, and 2 feels more like racing sims, this feels more like an arcade. Still, I enjoyed playing it and good music soundtrack compliments the gameplay. I noticed that most, if not all PS1 games have great OST.

Trial mountain  - my favorite track. Short but highly technical, ideal for a quick tuning checks. That's Lancer EVO III, IIRC.
The Isamu Ohira's menu music in the original GT game was outstanding, I loved the special tunes for an each manufacturer. Race music OST - not a fan tbh. The GT2 music, overall nah.

I liked the NFS II, NFS III hot pursuit, and NFS IV high stakes soundtracks, I still do.
The latter two were a pinnacle of the racing genre music IMO. Junkie XL, Saki Kaskas, Rom Di Prisco, Crispin Hands - they knew how to do their thing...
The game menu music by Rom Di Prisco in all of those 3 is the iconic signature of the series. There's nothing even remotely close to it nowadays. If someone's interested, just PM me, I'll gladly share link to this FLAC remastered collection:

FC1 is hella difficult on the hardest difficulty. Had to give up on that part where Val drives the jeep and I'm shooting with the machine gun, I just couldn't get past that, had to restart and play at the second hardest, that also gave a challenge.

Hit and run tactics with the stealth cloak, silenced weapons, and bursts of planned violence is what made Crysis 1 so fun for me. You are like Rambo in the jungle but with a super suit.

The story is a pretty good thriller as well although I think the last third of the game feels not as tight.

Also anyone who is playing Crysis 1 for the first time, check out Crysis Warhead afterwards, it is an expansion pack covering the same events from one of your squadmates in the original game and has new weapons, vehicles, and enemies.

More Halo CE! (zombies) (infection)

I remember playing the Halo CE demo in high school computer class, joining modded FFA servers where everyone is invisible and firing their Magnum pistols which are actually launching invisible rockets on the Blood Gulch map.

Complete chaos especially at the spawn points. You have a chance to enjoy the constant rain of random weapons and bodies flying halfway across the map if you can survive the first 15 seconds to get out of the base locations.

And then you have to keep eyes in the back of your head to make sure your classmates are not screen peeking. If they are not, you go ahead and screen peek them.

Good times.:toast:

This one basically got a resto-mod+ a new makeover, since 2014, with things still going strong in 2025, so far!
