Aw man, his memory is just trash for tweaking. That's all it is. He should be running 16-18-18's no problem with Gear down disabled. Gear down is fools play for a couple of reasons. It accommodates odd number Cas latency memory and generally allows 1:2 ratio to the memory controller. And since he's running 1:1, it's evident the odd primary timings are causing an issue as well as the peculiar secondary timings you've pointed out.

Maybe 3200mt/s to 3400mt/s and work the timings for latency instead. It'll probably be a lot easier to work with. The alternative, to trying to go faster than 3600mt/s would require loosening the primaries (probably a lot) and work the secondaries for efficiency. But realistically, just a better set of memory would go a long way. We all know the tweakers ddr4 suggestion....

Please fill in your system specs. Just click your name top right, click system specs and fill the form please! :)
I can't do 16-18-18-18. Any time I have tried I fail to post and have to restart. I know my timings are weird but basically I was trying to get the lower number I could get there while being stable.

Try the timings I gave you, it will probably improve performance a bit
Oh my gosh you weren't kidding. I got to 67.7ns on aida with 51.8k read speed. I only got the free version so I cant see anything else. Thank you so much

If I understand correctly you have CJR? It should only come as DR as 16gb, I dont understand why it reads as SR. If you set fitst timings to 18-22-22-22, ras to 40 and rc to 62, all other timings to auto, ramvolt to 1.4v, soc to 1.15v and iod to 1.05v see if you can boot 3666 then? If that works, try 3733.

It may be Hynix CJR read incorrectly as single rank. His bin is not so bad actually and CJR tends to do 3800-4000 easily I agree about gdm off, but if he has dual rank and a mediocre imc it can be tricky to stabilize. On the 1700 I tweaked gdm off is not possible at 3666. It is generally easier to run 8ff on 2dimm motherboards aswell.

I will try but every time I have done that it fails to post. I did even looser timings than the default xmp and still couldn't post. Im pretty sure I left all voltages on auto but I will try what you told me. About it saying single rank Im pretty sure thats a lie because I remember reading that my ram is dual rank. I forgot where. Edit: No way darn way you sir Cowboy must be buildzoid himself. It worked and I am running 3733 currently with the looser timings. How do the voltages work together? such as soc, iod and the other voltage names. I want to try to get to 3800mhz but with the voltages you gave me I can't post at 3800mhz with 1900mhz if

Good to hear. 3800 may not be possible at all, but you can try raising vddp to 950 and ccd to 1000mv first. If that does not work try soc 1.2v and iod 1.1v. If that dont work you probably cant run 3800 at all. Post zentimings running 3733. Dual rank often needs more soc and iod. If 3800 is no go try like 1.12v soc and 1.04v iod at 3733. If that works try 1.1v soc and 1.02v iod. Lower is probably impossible. Then try tightening timings

3800 didn't work so that's a bummer but I know 3800 on Zen 2 is hard. 1.12v soc and 1.04v iod worked just fine. My vddp and ccd voltages are at 1v. Here are the loose timings but I just noticed that even cpu-z says my ram is single rank. Weird

Correct, 8GB per stick. Doesn't take up much space. So single Rank memory, one side of the PCB. Dual Channels utilizing Slots A2 and B2. Click the memory tab for channels. (perhaps you have them mixed up.)

No no, I only have 2 sticks and each stick 16gb unless its 16gb on one side.

Next I would try is the most performanceimportant yimings rrds 4, rrdl 6, faw 16 and rfc 496. See if that works fine. Maybe raise rfc to 512 if you have trouble, you could also test 480 or 464. Next try 1.45v on ram cl 16, rcds 20, rp 20, ras 36, rc 56. If that works rdwr 10, wrrd 3 or 4. Next wr 16, rtp 8, wtrs 4, wtrl 10, scls 4 and then you are done

Doesn't H16C need active cooling at 1.45v?

No, but you may not be able to run lowest rfc.
Sorry for late reply. I tested out the first timing set you gave me but I haven't done the 1.45v on ram with the even tighter timings. Thank you so much again because I tested fortnite yesterday and normally I stutter and get frame drops like crazy. With your timings the game is actually playable now and the stuttering is gone but the constant frame drops are there but it doesn't drop as low as it did before. Regardless, this doesn't fix my motivation to play the game

Would you be able to give me a little insight on my ram anything that needs to be changed? It's stock clock is 4000MT/s 18-22-22-42 and 16GB per stick.

I saw it in the screenshot but not in my bios. I forgot every bios is different so it would be a little more difficult to find it in my bios
okay, try to find something with rdrd or wrwr.

Just change the following:

1.4v dimm
cl 16
ras 37
rc 57
rrds 4
faw 16
rdwr 10

I think these ram may be DJR dual rank. Zentimings may no report correctly. Try just changing wrrd to 1 or check if your sticks have chips on both sides. AJR and MJR usually cant run RFC that low. If you have actually have DJR you can try 480, 464 or 448.

Your timings worked except for cl 16 and tRFC 480 and below don't work at all or has problems, I use 1.41-1.43V dimm.

cl 16 does not work at all on this kit I've tried many times to get it to work but I'm not going below 3800MT/s to get it there. Since the 5800X3D doesn't care all that much for latency and likes more bandwidth.
My 5800X3D will run 4000MT/s at 2000 FCLK but at the cost of about 1000 WHEA error an hour and random shutdowns after some time.:ohwell:

Are 3866 whea free? You could try 1.45-1.5v also. Actually 5800X3D is more sensitive to timings than most give it credit for. It largely depend on which game, app etc though.

In Cyberpunk you get 7fps avg and 3 min and FC6 3fps avg and 10 min going from tuned rev E to B-die. Only timings significantly faster on B is RCD, RC and RFC. It matters more for non 3D chips though.

3866 has a rare WHEA occurrence, I'll try gdm off if I can find it and 2T.
Edit: It won't post with those settings.
