yes, I wanted fastest one for my new RIG. Seller told it's expensive cus it's best and uses PCI instead of M2400 $ for 1.5 tb sounds pretty expensive... bought my 4tb ones for 300 $ and these were already on the expensive side

what does SLC cache mean?no clue but probably business class if I look at that price ^^"
Edit: it's 1.5 TB of SLC cache with tbw of 82 PetaByte that's why...

Completely wrong. Optane is it's own class of storage called 3DXPoint, not SLC cache at all.Single Layer Cache, currently we use TLC (triple Layer cache) & QLC (quad Layer cache) in most storage devices (it's a lot less efficient in space but a lot better for reliability and speed)

because I would not call the explanation to slc vs tlc/qlc "completely wrong"it's 1.5 TB of SLC cache with...

ooooooops my bad, got the C (&L) wrong in name (i did know about it, SORRY)No. Just... no.
It means Single Level Cell, Multi Level Cell, Triple/Quad Level Cell. It means how many bits a memory cell can store.
SLC can store 0 or 1.
MLC can store 00, 01, 10 or 11.
TLC can store 000, 001, 010, 011, 100, 101, 110, or 111.
And so on.
The more bits you store in a cell, the faster it is to write/read, but the less reliable it is, as the three bits are represented by different voltage levels in the cell. It's much easier to maintain a steady 0 or 1 state than all the variations in between. Therefore, SLC comes with better lifespan and speed, but with a much higher price. TLC and QLC transfer speeds are alleviated by SLC caching and more intelligent controllers.
Difference between SLC, MLC, TLC and 3D NAND in USB flash drives, SSDs and Memory cards
With the growth of the gaming industry, NAND technology looks to develop further in order to help satisfy consumers ever-increasing storage needs. Here we explain the key differences between the types of NAND.www.kingston.com

thx. I am happy because I was looking for most stable and fast C drive. I hope less chance my windows will die as a bonusThis is a great drive, congratulations!
Yes, it doesn't have the biggest BW, but look at its latency - it's great!
And also huge endurance - you can write data to it 24/7 at maximum speed, and in this mode it will last for several years.
Another cool bonus - it is insensitive to power outages, so the OS can be configured without confirming the write - if the data got to the disk, it is guaranteed to be written. Therefore, optane is an ideal drive for zfs/slog/cache/etc.
I have the same one, only for m2.
