The 5600X isn't a super powerful processor, and if you have slower memory, you're bound to notice a decrease if what I think is happening is.
Sorry but that's some straight up FUD. W11 launched in 2021. 5600X is modern 6-core desktop CPU. Why the hell wouldn't it be ok to run W11?

I am little more into gaming(my games: Squad,HLL,Battlefield 2042,Battlefield 1,World of tanks,Cheater Strike 2, Valorant) but considering the userbenchmark website 5700x3d is 1% better than 5600x(my current one) , am I right ? I want something that will support win11 without any doubts and drops in performance if my 5600x year release is the case and will justify upgrading CPU and spending more money on this AM4 platform I got
Don't use userbenchmark.

No one is saying it's not a good CPU, it's just not optimal for what the OP wants to do.
What?!

You're telling me 5600X "isn't optimal" to run W11 if I want to play freaking CS2?

Re-read, I didn't say it wasn't supported. However, it's a 5 year old midranger, and Microsoft is hardening Windows at the expense of performance. A 20% loss in gaming performance with all hypervisor-based security features enabled with this setup is not too far fetched. Even back then Microsoft was already admitting to a ~15% hit, back in 2021 the 5600X would be one of the go-to gaming CPUs, too

There are more games than just CS2... For a user who games as much as the OP, a 5600X is not as optimal as the 5800X3D/5900X/5950X they inquired about.
Neither of these games were released in the past year. If his performance is better on W10 he should just stay on W10 and not jump to W11. Definitely not upgrade his CPU because of windows.

Windows 10 is EOL. It's time to move forward. Additionally, for many of the games currently out and many that are coming the 5600X will become a limiting factor at the resolution the OP is running. Their GPU is not the bottleneck as much as the CPU is so that is the upgrade they should consider.

I agree, and 11 runs fine on 5600X, or at least it should - Zen 3 does get hit pretty bad by HVCI though, losses ranging 5-15% should be expected, this is a little better on newer architectures, but in general, it's detrimental to gaming performance regardless of your PC's age. OP claims it's not HVCI and ended up going back to 10, so the issue is, well, closed, for now? Though... Win11 is the future, and staying behind on 10 and earlier is not gonna help things in the long term.

That's 2021. Wasn't this patched at some point?

Was... and wasn't. HVCI works by virtualizing the kernel itself, so like, you're running Windows under a VM instead of directly onto the hardware. It'll always have a performance impact since hardware is no longer being accessed directly, first going through the hypervisor which in turn interacts with the hardware... this middleman will always come with a performance cost, regardless of architecture, and different workloads will be affected differently, for gaming, 5-10% is within realm of expected, with 15-20% being possible depending on specs and software in question.

While I generally agree with hardening security for most use cases, this has no business being enabled on a gaming PC IMHO

Update: I ordered second hand R7 5800X3D and it will arrive tomorrow , since in every website its sold and unavailable. After all I will gave 50% cores for 50% more cache in the name for gaming and slightly 5% more fps :D Also the 9 5950x and 5900x both are from 2020 and win 11 is 2021 so I guess 5800x3D even when it's second hand it's released in 2022 and probabbly could handle win 11 without any performance drop.

If I could stay on win7 forever I would, but time passes by and now I am in love with win10 but again - time to move on I guess.. EOL is on it's way so I will have to go to win11 wheter I like it or not :(

Hope it is , I watched youtube video for Squad on 5800x3d , massive boost performance. My fav game , hope it works like that on my built too , can't wait to try it !

That can be disabled. 24H2 can be run in direct hardware mode.

Nice! Keep your 5600X as a spare though, just in case. I always keep older CPU's around as spares because one never knows..

Depends a lot on the prices and if you're interested on something else than gaming.

From gaming point of view going from 5600X to 5900X/5950X the gain will be marginal (1-3%, cant be more than 5%).
Going to 5700X3D/5800X3D on CPU demanding titles gain can be 15~25%. Think of it like your going into AM5 7600/7600X territory.

NOTE:
These gaming tests below are on 1080p. At 1440p differences are smaller but that shows what the gap can be if/when the game is CPU demanding. even at 1440p. And I am under the impression that CPU demanding games are increasing overtime.

Of course these "old" first gen X3D CPUs suck on productivity (because of low freq), but you still have 8cores/16threads for general multi-tasking (multi-apps running)

Here are the pictures of the CPU I am going to buy but something bothers me or is it just me...I can see some space between the die and the chip with something strange hiding there. Is this normal and should there be any gap like I see on the picture ? Is it just me ?

This is another picture from Ebay and I can see there is something simillar on the bottom side , like a gap or something and it have something black ? The person who is selling them(it's more like a company but not a person ) told me its ''factory soldering ''

either 5800x3d or 5950x, don't go 5900x. I would go 5950x because it's more flexible and has unlocked Multiplier.
5800x3d and 7800x3d is locked for overclocking and it is deal breaker for me. Only 9800x3d has it unlocked it seems.

either 5800x3d or 5950x, don't go 5900x. I would go 5950x because it's more flexible and has unlocked Multiplier.
5800x3d and 7800x3d is locked for overclocking and it is deal breaker for me. Only 9800x3d has it unlocked it seems.
I don't mind overclocking as soon as its working better than my current one and it's newer I am good. But now I am worried about that picture of the seller, was this CPU unsoldered or something wrong happened to it ? Look at the edge where the cpu copper meets with the chip , it's kind of ruined or I am blind ? I asked the seller company and they told me it's ''factory soldering''

I don't think it's a thermal paste but the ''rubber'' that keeps together cpu heatsink and the chip is kinda pushed into the cpu inside or something like that ,also I can see some space between them 2 at the top edge :(

Op text wall is tldr.

Windows 10 ltsc iot 8 days a week for me. Good until 2032 and beyond, Windows 11 ltsc if you must...

Still running a 4790k on 10 and it's identical to other machine with 5800x3d in general usage.
