You didn't get the memo...

"GPUs should only be evaluated based on Raster performance in games that are favorable to amd cards" AMD fans
I guess when you are buying midrange not caring about RT that much makes sense, but is 750-900$ really midrange? I don't know...

When the flagship is $2000 (list price), $750-900 are smack in the middle of the stack :(

Not that I have the right to say anything when I did order a 5090... but alas

As mediocre as the 5070ti is, it still clearly beats the XTX. They are equal in raster and the 5070ti is 43% faster in RT. Why this is even a debate?
Then it should have said "in RT" at title I guess. But 4070 TI Super or even 4070S does that by the charts. I dont remember them having that in title. Putting it on title like that indicates a conclusive beating. I dont think this card does that.

E.g. computerbase has the same figures for raster, but only 17% lead for RT.
Computerbase has ~45-50% difference in RT (compared to the XTX).

It beats means it's a better card. And it is. Features power draw RT performance yada yada.

If a GPU is held back by standard Windows configuration it's a GPU's design flaw. 7900 XTX is only better at pure raster and sucks at everything else, compared to 5070 Ti.
So AMD and NV are at fault for all the jank MS added to Win 11 to make it slower than Win 10?

Are you people actually expecting for these cards to be available at $900?

Here RTX 5080 are 1650 EUR +, by that logic a 12% slower card will be 1400 EUR +.

I know the prices are extremely inflated because all the retailers basically just got a few samples of the cards, but I expect that's what Nvidia actually made and planned - they're making AI server equipment, not toys now... I think this is basically it for this generation, until something drastically changes.

You'd ideally want at least 50% more performance for the same or lower price than what you bought in order to upgrade, anything less than that and its just a side grade at best.

I'd say the 5070ti is DOA, the $750 msrp is a lie and most models are listed at $900 or more, so the cheapest models that you can actually order are $900 with many models going for $1000.

Even at $750 it would be a terrible card, just 15% more performance over its predecessors after a 2 year wait, absolute dog shit!
I bought my 2070 Super in 2021 for 845. 5070Ti will be 1200 here, what should I buy? I need at least 100% uplift and DLSS is a must.

why do you use that outdated software for checking OC performance? its beyond me why you would not use something like cyberpunk with RT or any other real title for oc performance checking

So now that 5070Ti are $900+, will $700 be considered "nvidia minus $50" or "nvidia minus $200"? :D

Yes sir Jensen's butler is related to Christopher Columbus!

I can picture Columbus telling the Indians the more you buy the more you save.... Sure worked out well for them, now gamers are the sucker's.

Looks like the mask finally fell off. By the way, since you claim I did not read:

Have a fantastic day, chap.

I don't know why people get so emotional over two silicon makers who don't give 2 $#!+$ about them.

This rooting for companies trying to separate as much money from your wallet as possible needs to die these aren't sports teams anyone should be rooting for.

It beats means it's a better card. And it is. Features power draw RT performance yada yada.
I don't agree with that really. If a team beats another team in a football match that only means they scored more goals. They dont consider number of freekicks, corners, ball possession, total value of the club etc. Just the scores. So for GPUs, I think it only means beating in performance unless it is specified. But let's dont want get stuck on words.

I guess I reacted that way because it felt weird without a conclusive result. W1z had not said 'Beats 7900XTX" in 4080S first reviews, didnt even mentioned it in Pros-Cons list. That card was also similar in raster and conclusively beat it at RT. And they were more relevant as they were directly competed with each other.
7900XTX is more than 2 years old at this point. This is kinda equivalent to saying "4070S - Beating 6950XT" in first reviews (similar raster and RT performance diffs). And those cards were actually closer by their release dates than these two. They were also similarly priced back then...

Yes. While more or less equivalent in raster power, its accessory features are far superior, and it is much more power efficient. Therefore, it is not unreasonable to deduce that it is, indeed, the better product overall. W1zzard is not wrong.
The only issue is, it is just not true.

For an excellent video gameplay experience I just don't need a NVidia graphics card today.

That's just how depressing gpu launches have become a likely 900 at retail will sorta beat a 1000 usd flagship from the competition 2 years later is a pro.
