No worries :D let me guess, the one with white shroud has the marginally faster stock clock?

Damn, I want a cool stuff dealer too :D

By just wanting, u may find one, or he will find u, if u know the law of attraction that is... Tho i am not sure if Finland was not one of the countries, that no one throw e-waste in the trash cans, and ppl were forbidden to buy e-waste from recycling centers... Few countries are like that, and this for sure sucks, i dont even know why tf they have these laws... Over the years i saw so many types of ppl, some are greedy, some just want to help and preserve computer history, some dont care at all, and prefer to scrap working stuff, just to get rid of them as fast as possible...

Anyway got WD raptors, both working, one is nearly 2 years of use and not much on/ off cycles, but the other is on much miles... Will prob use the better on for the Athlon XP system, as i wanted Raptor 10K drive from long time, as ssd/ cf is not my thing on pre vista windows, as is not optimal...

Though I found a 100% working Asus Z170-K + i5-6600K & GTX 960 4GB Strix in the trash. :toast:

Maybe a neighbor was just too lazy to sell those and threw them to the trash instead.

edit: Raptors used by HP? Wonder that which machine had those back in the day.

Hah so strange, as when i got multiple LGA 1151 mobos, few of the asus ones were dead, specially x2 Z170-E, so i would sell these, and get something more reliable.. Not to mention the whole LGA1151 sucks as well, Intel at the time did made the CPU wafer even thinner, resulting in bends, as minimum some ppl were experiencing lost of ram slots, that did not work die to bend on the thin CPU wafer and pins making no contact.. In more severe cases heavy dual tower coolers did even bend the CPU so much to the point of brake like bread stick lol...
Some ppl seems dont care at all about working stuff, and they throw them... Did read in Vogons i think, ppl said there was some lucky guy, that found in the trash bins whole box full of engineering samples Voodoo 5 6000, and destroyed bunch of them for water cooler mods lol... I did find some PCs few times on the trash cans, but never anything of any collector value, mostly office crap good for resale only, and then reinvesting the money into something good... A guy told me he found IBM Model M one time sitting next to the dumpster...

(yeah some ppl are no comment, real primates, they cant see the ram slots are of the type, where one of the sides have permanent unmovable ram notches, so they did press very hard in order to open them, and brake ofc.... Hate ppl that get electronics, and try to build computers and stuff, while they dont know jack shht about even stuff that are so easy to spot... Also ASUS mem Ok button hahahah, more like ASUS ram debugger button...)
20220106_131956.jpg

Welp some did have them it seems who knows what, prob machine from the era these disks were new will be good start... I wonder more which Compaq systems and other OEMs had 3Dfx cards inside them from the factory... I heard some machines had even Voodoo V 5500 like Mac G4s... Some Pentium III Compaq had Voodoo III cards inside like Voodoo III 2000 PCI...

I wonder if someone knows, if there is a way to remove the god damn switch on the annoying next to the left small shift button, since it is 110% useless, and also makes the damn left shift so small is hard to use... I removed the coil spring, but the plastic hammer/ shovel is still inside, and for my annoying surprise, no matter i could install now big a$$ left shift, but sadly when i install the plastic stabilizer, it does not fit 100% die to the plastic shovel still being inside, and the whole thing fails... Someone may say get instead US layout Model M, sure i have few of these too, problem is i like the EU layout, but i also like the big left shift too, so the perfect keyboard for me is always EU model with big a$$ enter, but also to have big backspace and big left shift... I was so happy to see the IBM design is so good, it allows the user to reconfigure whole keys and stuff... But the damn plastic rivets are in the way, as i cant open the damn membrane sandwich and remove the left overs of that useless key between Z and L shift, and replace the whole thing with big L shift and stabilizer...

Of course i would pay for it.I looked on eBAY but no luck there :( .I have managed to get it on a USB Flash drive some years back but sadly it got wiped. :( I have just seen this
*PLEASE NOTE: IF USING WINDOWS 11, YOU WILL NEED TO ADD THE WMIC WINDOWS COMPONENT*
perhaps thats why i could not get it to work on there.

back at my parents place.

The nostalgia hit pretty badly. Its 2010s, I am still in school, and this is my gaming rig.

NZXT Guardian 921RB with FX 8320, 16 gigs of RAM, RX 580 8GB.

de volta à casa dos meus pais.

A nostalgia bateu forte. Estamos na década de 2010, ainda estou na escola e este é meu equipamento de jogo.

NZXT Guardian 921RB com FX 8320, 16 GB de RAM, RX 580 8 GB.

This Asrock was the top of the line at the time, FX990 Extreme 4. That might even be a good thing nowadays with an 8 core processor. The problem is DDR3.

Palit Radeon X800 GTO, PCI-E.
Honestly, I'm not sure, but I think it is X850XT . Since the card is literally brand new I haven't tested it in detail and it was put away and stitched 1-2 years ago. I haven't tested it, but I have written it down as such. If we don't reach a consensus I will find it to test it.

I don't think so. Fair certain the X850XT and even the X800 needed the extra power connector which that card doesn't have. What does GPUz say about it?
Some X800s shipped without the PCI-E connector, and @starred86 's card is one of them. As far as the model goes, it should be a X800GTO, or a XL according to a russian market website I found.

My guess is either an X600 Pro or X600 XT. I have an X700 Pro & it has a 4 pin power plug.

Edit: Yeah, I'm looking at the X800 GTO's in the TPU database & they do not have addition power connections.

At lowest it's a X800XL. I've actually found the exact card over an russian market site and it's marked as following:

"Palit Radeon X800 XL 400Mhz PCI-E 256Mb 1000Mhz 256 bit DVI TV YPrPb"

Even more so as the reference image used (although low in quality) is an exact match to his card. So, I'm around 95% certain it's a X800 at least.

I believe you 99% and I think this is the truth. Now I will make a note, because I myself did not know for sure. I promise that on Tuesday 25.02 I will check and upload a photo.

Maybe. This is why I asked what GPUz says about it.
I'm sorry, but as I said above, it was removed without being tested in detail and checked with software. I'll do it on Tuesday and give 100% information. I think MaxiPro800 guessed, but we'll see... :)

Well same as their primate brains... Is not that hard to destroy plastic elements of computer part, they may be durable, but they still do brake... I did brake plastic parts from dead boards so i can tell, is not hard to brake something... What i wonder is why some ppl are so ignorant and primal... I did see similar thing even in another collectors i did talk with... For example a guy collector when he touch a mobo he will grab it that way so he will move caps and stuff, or when he showed me his "stored" parts in drawer, well it was really dumb, as the guy did just put random parts in that drawer, rams, cpus, vgas, hdds and others, and they all did sit on each other, and when he pulled the drawer they all did move and every part did scratch another part i found that really insane.. When i told him that is really bad way of "storing" parts, he was like huh i wont bother to wrap every single thing in paper/ bubble/ plastic like u do.. Sure buddy instead leave them to scratch and possibly even knock SMDs and stuff, what a real collector he is jeez.....

This Asrock was the top of the line at the time, FX990 Extreme 4. That might even be a good thing nowadays with an 8 core processor. The problem is DDR3.

Wat is the problem with DDR3, Haswell 4790K is still plenty fast, hell even 2600K/ 2700K is still very ok for many folks... Also what about triple channel platforms such as x58 or quad like x79 ? The x79 with DDR3 is faster then dual channel DDR4 >>>>>

Tested the few new PS/2 systems i got.. One made in Belgium, one made in Spain, one made in France... Kept the Spain model, since it was the most preserved from the 3, while the Belgium machine is nasty, prob the guy working on it, was god damn smoker, fk cigars man... Also the IBM monitor is working, but for some reason has worse image quality, then the other PS/2 monitor i have, that was working fine years ago, and now its image is broken for some reason, and i suspect the VGA cable maybe has gone bad....

Sure buddy instead leave them to scratch and possibly even knock SMDs and stuff, what a real collector he is jeez.....

Well done, I appreciate the topic about brutal old monitors...

Bravo Radical Vision great theme and great peripheral !!!

I have a ViewSonic 1786PS 17 inch CRT Professional Monitor RGB + VGA . The monitor is in perfect condition and the lines you see are a result of the photos. They are not noticeable in person. The colors are truly impressive! To the left of it is an LG 55 G2 OLED and to the right of it is a 22-inch HP widescreen FHD. The 30-year-old legend puts them in his little pocket... is it just nostalgia...?!

An HP Mini with W7 running an Atom N550+1GB DDR3+250Gb Scorpio black HDD and Fujitsu lifebook that roamed alongside the dinosaurs.

Lifebook V1010. Intel C2D T5200 and a mismatched 3GB of DDR2.

I've stripped out what I can strip out with a screwdriver and discovered that the HP Has an bcm94313 AX210 WiFi card so I'm already quids in. However as happy as I am with my discovery. I know that it won't work on my HP 830 G5. Because... Because HP.

both of these can be fun projects within reason. I like the HP Mini because it has the most promise but apparently it only supports a max of 2GB ram which is next to useless unless I'm running Linux on it.

The Fujitsu is going to be harder to deal with becuarits just old and the keyboard is more yellow than my skin tone and I'm chinese.

Both these belonged to an older cousin but he doesn't live here anymore and auntie wants to throw his stuff out so im just seeing what can be salvaged then maybe throw away or sell off the rest. Apparently theres a group of people who will pay you for old electrial goods as they recycle them.

::EDIT::

Turns out it wasnt an AX210 but a wireless N card. Big sad

Welp i have x2 IBM monitors, this new one seems like it have some not very well looking image quality die to much use or something.. The old one i have from before that is way better, but seems the damn VGA cable was not preserved, and on the end where is the VGA connector there are few separated wires, so now it shows some BS instead of clear image, really disappointed tbh, but i bet if the cable is fixed it will run great again... I had before that x3 CRTs x2 DELLs (SONY Trinitrons inside), and one newer Compaq one, one got destroyed die to drop from high place sadly, the other 2 were fine, but took much space, they were 19", so i just sold them... I like CRT monitors, but the problem is, they are heavy, look like crap some of them, and mostly they take much space, so CRT is no go for the most part die to space... The space even that IBM takes, i will be able to store x2 smaller system, or one bigger....

BTW really, really bad job with these pictures, they are all blurred, the focus is gone to another object, not what u wanted to show, just look at them. Same cant be said for my tho....

Now this IBM monitor had great image quality, nothing that would annoy me, like the new one, but the damn cable is prob causing it to not display much now...
