Though I found a 100% working Asus Z170-K + i5-6600K & GTX 960 4GB Strix in the trash.
Maybe a neighbor was just too lazy to sell those and threw them to the trash instead.
edit: Raptors used by HP? Wonder that which machine had those back in the day.
Hah so strange, as when i got multiple LGA 1151 mobos, few of the asus ones were dead, specially x2 Z170-E, so i would sell these, and get something more reliable.. Not to mention the whole LGA1151 sucks as well, Intel at the time did made the CPU wafer even thinner, resulting in bends, as minimum some ppl were experiencing lost of ram slots, that did not work die to bend on the thin CPU wafer and pins making no contact.. In more severe cases heavy dual tower coolers did even bend the CPU so much to the point of brake like bread stick lol...
Some ppl seems dont care at all about working stuff, and they throw them... Did read in Vogons i think, ppl said there was some lucky guy, that found in the trash bins whole box full of engineering samples Voodoo 5 6000, and destroyed bunch of them for water cooler mods lol... I did find some PCs few times on the trash cans, but never anything of any collector value, mostly office crap good for resale only, and then reinvesting the money into something good... A guy told me he found IBM Model M one time sitting next to the dumpster...
(yeah some ppl are no comment, real primates, they cant see the ram slots are of the type, where one of the sides have permanent unmovable ram notches, so they did press very hard in order to open them, and brake ofc.... Hate ppl that get electronics, and try to build computers and stuff, while they dont know jack shht about even stuff that are so easy to spot... Also ASUS mem Ok button hahahah, more like ASUS ram debugger button...)
Welp some did have them it seems who knows what, prob machine from the era these disks were new will be good start... I wonder more which Compaq systems and other OEMs had 3Dfx cards inside them from the factory... I heard some machines had even Voodoo V 5500 like Mac G4s... Some Pentium III Compaq had Voodoo III cards inside like Voodoo III 2000 PCI...
I wonder if someone knows, if there is a way to remove the god damn switch on the annoying next to the left small shift button, since it is 110% useless, and also makes the damn left shift so small is hard to use... I removed the coil spring, but the plastic hammer/ shovel is still inside, and for my annoying surprise, no matter i could install now big a$$ left shift, but sadly when i install the plastic stabilizer, it does not fit 100% die to the plastic shovel still being inside, and the whole thing fails... Someone may say get instead US layout Model M, sure i have few of these too, problem is i like the EU layout, but i also like the big left shift too, so the perfect keyboard for me is always EU model with big a$$ enter, but also to have big backspace and big left shift... I was so happy to see the IBM design is so good, it allows the user to reconfigure whole keys and stuff... But the damn plastic rivets are in the way, as i cant open the damn membrane sandwich and remove the left overs of that useless key between Z and L shift, and replace the whole thing with big L shift and stabilizer...
