but if you turn it off...
Yeah I already saw a German communist takeover somewhere that just turned the world into commies without firing a singls bullet lol

And @Vayra86 Stellaris is 4X and not grand strategy..
Neehh yes and no. Youre still using a bunch of Xes here... and quite similarly if you havent got a game plan, youre screwed. When it comes down to it it feels similar in many ways.

HoI3 had no 'eXplore', so there's no 4X here.

eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate is the 4X.

Maybe HoI3 is a 3X game, lol.

Well there is exploration in the sense of finding out what forces you are up against, for one. You can see the map but not whats actually on it unless you have intel.

Alright Halo Reach is a wrap.

If anyone here hasn't played Halo games and picks up the MCC, do not play Halo Reach first. It will ruin the rest of the series for you, even though it's story wise the first game in chronological order.

Want to try something completely different. Fired up Grim Dawn for some of that ARPG goodness and some Darksiders 3 for the hack n slash.

Both look solid, but Darksider's always brings a ton of personality to the table and I love it. Grim Dawn seems like it's going to be another Doable retread in not just gameplay but tone as well.

otherwise, re4 is amazing, I love this type of third person, stroy driven games where you have a whole arsenal available.

Re4-R finished weekend before last. Super fun game, good story, cool puzzles a bit more shooting than I thought there would be. Bosses, not so much fun. Not a fan of having to craft stuff for this game. Played through 1/2 on hardcore. Some of HC isn't bad, because I have leveled up weapons - can't imagine starting from that level to start

They story length was great, awesome old skool single player experience. Great graphics too!

I disagree.

I strongly disagree. That is not remotely the same thing. In Stellaris you start as a blank slate, like Civ, whereas in the "proper" grand strategy games you do not. You have a starting condition, which is whatever state your state was in when you start the game. BTW, have you played Europa Universalis at all?

I did enjoy the bosses, but I liked these overpowered enemies even more

these alien-looking, biologically engineered things were a pita, especially the mutated ones or a few at once, but I managed. at the end, I ran out of rifle ammo, so had to use the rifle to see where to shoot through the biosensor, quickly switch weapons and finish it off with a shotgun

the bull headed guy was cool too, and the ones that grew spores out of their heads, especially when they came in groups. the spider-infected cultists that ran so quickly scared me a little when I saw them rushing like crazy lol

the blinded ones with metal claws were fun too, quite easy with stealth, but very cool to sneak around and one-shot kill with a magnum once in good position

oh, and this one I still don't know if you could kill cause I ran from it, sprinkling it with acid whenever I could

In the end, I'm very surprised how much fun I had with guns in this game. the best thing is, it requires you to know what weapon to use and how.
