I dont know, your score is awesome! I am just confused at how high it is in comparison to other systems here. You can go down the list and compare results to the systems that produced them, but yours definitely does not fit the norm.

Ill talk it over with the OP and see what we think, but honestly, you get a old CRT, and run 12x10, then it cant be argued! Id love to see that, but taking over 1rst with these circumstances is tough to swallow, i really think we will get alot of guff for that.

correct decision dude.. if i stands out from the norm be wary.. especially if its higher than the norm.. he he he

yes it does, congrats on first place. Im still in shock that your scores are so high with those clocks, can you please share your tips???? It seems you have some magic going on!!!

No tips to give yet, this was an untweaked run. I've not set up my new benching OS. Like I said I'm on a mission for 17.5K before the week is out...

wait wait wait wait, where did you get a rampage formula from!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????????????? I have been waiting waiting for this forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, As mentioned further down or just above, I am indeed a Maximus flasher (Oo-errr!!!) but suffice to say, I'll have myself a Rampage soon enough!

The Quad is good for about 4.2GHz 3D2K6... And did I mention this is an ALL AIR bench? :D :rockout:

and wow! that HDr score is out of the roof, hell its as high as the X2, please share what you are doing!

Haha, magic fingers. I'll see if I can compile any decent tips and post back soon...

Here is a Comparo to my best CF run with my lowly E6600. If I could get kup's results, I'd be hella happy!:D

Well thats great and all, but there has to be some explanation for those results,
do me a favor and look over the other results here, your numbers don't match, and every other post on here fits the norm. 40+ posters have revealed consistent results with their clocks and then you throw down 7500 on the HDR. something is special there

Haha, As mentioned further down or just above, I am indeed a Maximus flasher (Oo-errr!!!) but suffice to say, I'll have myself a Rampage soon enough!
you and me both

The Quad is good for about 4.2GHz 3D2K6... And did I mention this is an ALL AIR bench? :D :rockout:
and do you credit this to your x38?? Because my 965 is pissing me off. My quad gets stuck at 3.8, and I have an elaborate water system keeping 24/7 3.8 ghz clocks under 45 C

Maximus to Rampage, indeed.
I might end up having to get the maximus, I am buying a mobo very soon, I want it to be the rampage, but I have been waiting too long! I thought it was supposed to be a Feb, 18 release????

Thought someone might have beaten me by now with the new 8.3 drivers out with quad 3870x2 support. Plus the new intel quads.

This probably doesn't hurt:

Disable Post-Processing. The Disable post-processing checkbox disables full frame post-process effects in all graphics tests. The post-processing in the SM2.0 tests does bloom filtering that is done by rendering every frame to a texture and modifying the frame using a pixel shader. The bloom filter is a cinematic effect that makes bright surfaces appears over bright. The bright surface not only gets brighter discarding any details too small to be visible in the intense reflection, the light also partly spills over darker areas in the frame surrounding the bright surface.
The HDR/SM3.0 graphics tests use a much more advanced post-processing bloom effect, where the scene is rendered to a texture and progressively halved downscaled versions of that is generated (a bit like mip-maps). Each of these sub-frames is blurred using a Gaussian filter of the same pixel size. The final frame is then produced of a weighted sum of those downscaled and blurred frames. We are also using a star shaped glow effect that again uses the progressively halved frame copies for six separate line convolutions, one for each of the 6 streaks in the star. Each line is rendered in 3 passes. The first pass takes 5 samples of the image at the beginning of a line. The second pass takes again 5 samples from the output of the first pass, spaced five pixels apart. Finally the third pass takes yet again 5 samples from the output of the second pass, spaced 5*5=25 pixels apart. This simulates the six edge shutter of traditional cameras with exposure control. Also a ghost/lens reflection effect is being done. We paste copies of this new buffer on the screen, each scaled around the centre of the screen using suitable scaling factors.
In addition the above, the whole image is being processed by tone-mapping in order to get the correct light values for normal displays. Disabling the post-processing from the options disables all the effects mentioned above, and thus does not represent the way the scenes were designed.
In 3DMark06 the post-processing is always on by default. ;)

I didn't buy 3DM06, so I don't have access to this setting. I thought the point of comparing was for everyone to run the DEFAULT settings...

I dont mind been beat.

the main thing i wanted to achieve was 4.3ghz and get it stable which i did the 3dmark score was just a bonus while testing its speed/preformance. When the x2 comes down a bit more in price with the gddr4 release i may purchace another then have another go. :)

and that would be amazing! hey I have been meaning to ask, did you do any volt mods on the x2 to get those clocks, or did they just get that high??

meaning that the score is no good. I had a feeling that was the issue, I posted it below. Im sorry but the rules of the thread is that you leave the stock settings - and that included the post processing - thanks DR. SPANKENSTEIN - you da man~!

Thought I'd do it kindly, before trog100 caught a whiff of this!!

....which begs the question, do we start to require Orb links like we do in the All-encompassing 3DM06 thread?

No m8 no volt mods im not really willing to risk it on a £280 card lol im not 100% sure if it was getting sufficient voltage tbh. the preformance may have come mostly from the cpu clock ive noticed you dont get a real big jump by overclocking the card alone.

meaning that the score is no good. I had a feeling that was the issue, I posted it below. Im sorry but the rules of the thread is that you leave the stock settings - and that included the post processing - thanks DR. SPANKENSTEIN - you da man~!

Ok this was my bad, I didn't realise it wasn't an option in the free version? I've still taken second place and I'll be looking for first soon...

Sorry for the confusion guys. I didn't mean to decieve anyone, just didn't know that wasn't an option in the free version.
