Could some one give me some help/info. on how to flash my bios to the higher clocked version?

I haven't done anything like that since my old X800gto.

the winflash of this site works perfectly.. just load the bios (i put it in the same folder as the winflash) press the go button and wait two minutes.. its says job done.. reboot machine..

i must have used it thirty odd times without the slightest problem.. make sure your machine is stable before doing it thow.. if the machine crashes halfway thru the flash will fail..

windows bios flashes go wrong cos people do them with overclocked unstable machines..

at 862 the clock makes its next jump of 7 or so mhz (should do) u dont get what u see in the CCC.. between 862 and 871 u hit the same error pll error..

at 872 u jump past it..

the error is said not to be over 862 simple at 862.. try it.. no guarantee the card will run there but it should miss the timing error..

if u run the rivatuner monitor u will see the actual speed the card runs at.. the later jumps in 13 mhz jumps and misses the 862 error.. or so i read.. he he

if the logic is correct the early bios jumps in 6 mhz jumps and hits the pll error.. the later bios simply by useing bigger jumps misses it.. with the later bios u need to move the CCC 13 points before the clocks alters.. then whoosh its 13 mhz higher.. in between nothing happens..

the early bios is more adjustable.. smaller jumps but hits the pll error..

there is a downside to the newer bios.. those 13 mhz jumps.. your card might well run at the in between speed but u cant use it.. its 823.. 837.. 850 then 863.. then 876.. not ideal.. smaller jumps are better..

i think if the jump to 872 dosnt work the newer bios is negative unless u intend to volt mod.. below the hole the older bios is far more adjustable and is the better bios..

Cool, the program seems simple enough. Now which bios should I use and where to get it? And can I backup my current bios with winflash?

Save your current BIOS using the latest GPU-Z, when you load it up there is a little green arrow button next to your bios version which you can use to save your current BIOS.

Use the Tech Forums GPU Database and see which is the latest version or whichever version you want to use for your specific card.

Is that with the X2 if so did you notice its only with one core it seems cuz its showing in GPU-z its a 3780 not 3780X2 like in the 1st pic

I was using XP SP3 and had no difference in score. No big difference in score from 7.12 drivers to 8.3 either, I just was hoping GTA would work.

So, I'm able to take my GPU core anywhere I want now, stupid me forgot to write down his bios settings at 4.2ghz on his CPU. :banghead:

3870 score

Well this how I faired I oc the vid card to 880 core and memory to 1050 I am running a e6700 at stock speed @ 2.66 due to I have a dell and it will not let me oc the cpu. I dont think this is too bad considering its a dell.

Your SM2 and SM3 scores are only very slightly below mine. The score is good considering the cpu clock speed. Add 2000 to the cpu score, and youd push 12.5k.

Bad score man with a Q6600 on 3.6! with my Phenom at 2.3 GHZ i get a score of 12 400 and i still need 2 overclock it :laugh:

but still who needs benchmarking when games are working just fine!
