Very ROUGH figures so far.

Performance per clock +25%
Power per clock +10%

Interesting. But not earth shattering. But let's wait until more benchmarks arrive.

Man, i really don't want to change sockets. I want a good system but i don't want to do any major upgrades. Like my Mobo. A Q6600 will be fine for me. Even tho those new benchmarks are nice for the Nehalem's i still dont need to have the best out, unless i was a benchmarking person. I may upgrade my mobo when i head to College tho. But i like LGA775.

As far as i know, Nehalem will NOT be available in socket 775 so, should you want to upgrade to such a CPU, you'll need to upgrade motherboard and RAM (if you haven't DDR3 yet), @ least.

This is because of the absence of FSB as we know it, i believe!

i agree i still need to get a penryn......besides i dont think ill upgrade sockets anytime soon i just did 775 a little while ago and i got the taste of being ontop. But i dont have the $$ to change ram mobo and proc..besides with the introduction of a new socket and nehalem it will be just like hondas...what other proc is available for socket 1366? it would be like hey dude i have the new socket 1366 and a nehalem! ya me too!!

Well

intel the nehalem looks very impressive even at the early stages and the memory benchmarks evermore so, Either AMD are standing up thinking " ha we got something better comming up " or have just fallen over saying " were f***ed ". i mean i like AMD/ATI products as much as the next guy but the raw processing power of this is hard to ignore.

Now THAT is a quad. That settles it, I won't be investing in a quad until nahalem. And thats a middle of the road chip, comperable in market to my e6750. I bet that baby hits 4ghz on air w/o much trouble. Nice.
