So I just realized today that I might not be home when my DFI board gets delivered on Monday if my dad has jury duty. But that means I would be home on Tuesday.

Ordered the DFI X48, should have it monday, fit's Ballistix should be in tomorrow or friday. Should be a good week next week.

I definitely am getting a new motherboard, I think this ASUS doesn't like super high FSB, has trouble with 490. Hopefully the DFI will be better, also with some new ram.

Looking at the two MSI boards on MSI's site, other than the Platinum Combo supporting DDR3, I really don't see much of a difference in them. Like I said I have had good experiences with MSI so I think both will serve you well, seems like most everyone else with one also is happy so that is a plus. Basically comes down to do you want to pay the extra for DDR3 support.

The P5K I got on saturday the 24th. I tried 450x8.5, didn't boot, think I might have had the FSB strap to NB to low, or mebbe not, I will go try that.

Got it to boot into windows at 470x8, wouldnt last night, maybe a 7 hour run with orthos at 3.2 w/stock volts helped. Might get the new mobo anyway.

Keep me updated on the person interested in the MSI K9A2 Plat. Also I may be getting a new mobo next week when I get my ram too depending on how OCing the 7200 goes, well if it improves. So the P5K will be up for sale.

why couldnt you do much with the missus? Work or something?

I got fed up of my motherboards voltage restr. as you know but im just going with it for now, ill do a major upgrade (mobo, CPU + GFX) next year when quads have dropped in price etc.

Yea, as far as I can see the DRAM speed is linked to the FSB speed, just have the different dividers.
