AGESA 1.2.0.8

Looks like PBO was moved to the main tweaker page. AMD was talking about doing that for AM5. Looks like AM4 got the treatment first.
Now that you say it, I have the full PBO adjustments both in the main AI Tweaker page and in AMD Overclocking. Interesting.

The two settings don't sync tho... ASUS moment.

They're not supposed to sync and never have. Either pick one or the other.

AMD OC menu tweaks PBO was originally designed to be used by Ryzen Master. On Asus try the Tweaker page first, then whatever doesn't work on Tweaker (on Asus usually Curve Optimizer), go to AMD OC and try there.

For the 5800X3D because PBO was originally hidden, 1208 seems to have added the PBO controls back. For Asus they seem to have chosen Tweaker to host all the unhidden PBO options now, iirc Curve Optimizer now works under Tweaker for that CPU at least.

I basically have a mirror of the settings in AMD Overclocking on AI Tweaking. Ought to confuse *some* people when they don't sync, I imagine... it confused me at first :p

It was missing a bunch of settings before, like CO.

Damn, still no update for my mobo.

ain't broke = don't fix it

You're on Win 10, you should be on what, AGESA 1200-1203 max anyways

1.2.0.7 is what I'm on. No choice as was worried about processor compatibility.

Then don't fret. Official word does say 1206 for 5700X, but at the end of the day it's just a regular Vermeer CPU (albeit B2 stepping)

The only real value for these new BIOSes is in re-enabled PBO controls for 5800X3D, and patched vulnerabilities if you care about that stuff.

It was like that since the previous 1.2.0.7 BIOS, at least for my X570 Aorus Elite.

LOL - patched vulnerabilities

Why is that funny?

Who doesn't care about patched vulnerabilities? for some reason sounded like a funny question. Once I have my morning coffee I'll probably look back and say to myself WTF was I thinking?

Well, maybe my experience can add something. After 1.2.0.8, compatibility with four memory modules was improved. It is known that cpu memory controller strugles to be stable when four sticks are installed and XMP or DOCP is enabled. Before that I had to set manually a higher voltage to memory so that it gets stable, like 1.37v (my modules are rated 1.35v). Now it is not necessary anymore. But. It always comes with "but", lol. I've noticed that bus speed fluctuates below 99.0Mhz more often than before, so ram frequency gets a bit slower than 3200Mhz in my case. Setup: MSI B550 Bazooka, R5 5600X, 4x8GB Geil 3200Mhz CL16, RX 6700XT.

my b550 msi mobo just got the update 5 days ago. yours is probably next in line

Hello, I have a MSI X570 GAMING PLUS and just saw the BIOS is out. I have a 5800x3D. Is it worth updating? At present my CPU reaches 4450 at most in game. Since I have a 4090, every drop of CPU power will be useful.

From what I hear it only unlocks the voltage curve and a couple other things, if you're already using the 5800x3d PBO Tuner 2 in windows or are using the bios Kombo Strike lv 3 without issues it's not worth updating. If you aren't using the PBO Tuner to undervolt and want more features then do the update, however 1.2.0.8 is a beta bios (at least it is for my mobo) meaning there could be issues.

ugh, just a within a couple of weeks ago updated my MSI B550 BIOS to latest incl. AGESA 1.2.0.7. And now see there is AGESA 1.2.0.8 for this board, should I bother, maybe yes, system works a'Ok, but who knows will I loose something if I go .0.8. (mentions it is Beta)

There's not really much more to lose. 1208 is ok.

Anyone try this BIOS on the MSI B550 A-Pro?

I just hope they'll add 1208 to B450 tomahawk max, for the 5800x3d sake.

According to Cat Mystic's spreadsheet, the B450 is getting 1208 ...

... but so far only the B450M Bazooka Plus (7B90) has it ...

Thanks, update done, works Ok.

Anyone updated their Gigabyte X570 to the latest BIOS? Interested to hear if PBO is opened up on it for a 5800X3D, would allow me to drop the janky windows scripted undervolt method. Always keen to do hardware tweaking at the BIOS level, if possible.

Really eh? We have had it since 1207 in Asus land
