While we have been hearing rumors of the HD2900Pro for some time now, and AMD has just recently released the card to the public, all that press does no good if customers can't even get the card. Fortunately, American online PC part retailer Newegg thought ahead, and made sure to stock plenty of the HD2900. You can now buy three variants of the 2900Pro, from a Sapphire model with 512MB of VRAM for $265USD, to one with an impressive 1 GB of VRAM for a reasonable $330USD.

ordered one already!!!1

I'm about to order number two. The bank should of cleared my check by now.

Then I have to go running around town, and hope that I make it back to the post office in time.

If not it will be the early wake up call to the post office before it closes.

HIS version for 279....should I buy it??

HIS or Sapphire??

512mb or 1gb....I wanna order before they go up $30 (like the xt), or before they're sold out.....

hook a brutha up with some ad-vice

1gb ............. will last u longer when playing game sin very high resolutions , i run a 28 inch lcd , and this baby rocks it to the core.

check my specs.

i think his
still waiting for agp version :/

I want 2! Anyone want to buy an 8800?

Bam just ordered number 2.

I didn't want to wait around with them saying that the 512bus will be limited. Then most likely there will only be 256bus on the market soon.

ahh they had a 1Gb DDR 4 version.....Errr I jumped the gun

Well one of them is already at step 3 so no turning back now.

what i want to know is if it would work in crossfire with a 2900XT with flashing the bios on one of the cards???

I totally think it would work.

 poor damulta, will thsoe swiftech tec blocks be cooling the pro's? you never gave us the specs to your wc/tec system lol.

Screw it I'm canceling the one I just ordered for a 1Gb then sending the other one back to them.....

hm,mm, i have a gpu swiftech tec block sitting on a shelf nxt to me, wasnt powerful enuff to cool my x1900, only 80W, however, the swifty pelt cooling my cpu works v nicely :)

I'm runnning a 37" @ 1920 x 1080 so I'm in the same boat...

So $60 is worth the extra 512mb, and ddr4 at the higher resolutions...

Well, its ordered 1gb w/ ddr4 and a new dvi cable for hdcp :rockout:

good choice matey, those cards in crossfire will perform nicely!

It is done.

I now have the 512 on the way along with the 1GB......

We will now know which is better!!! I'll try it out before I send it back for 1gb DDR4.

(They better still have them :()

NICE!!!!

Are you still running that fx62? Are you thinking about a x2 5000+ unlocked at all, or do you have any "secret" processor(s) that you are using?

I have a couple of questions, should I buy this or wait for The HD2950 to be released and when it does come out can anyone guess how good and how much it will be?

FX-62 for now....Don't know what will be the next CPU in my future......

wish my 24" widescreen supported hdmi, damn it. but i have to say gaming on the 1gb2900xt @ 1920x1200 is AWSOME!!! the pro will be equally as good :-)

just had my first online Quake wars match, im rather impressed. may pick up a pro later this year or early 08 once i get rid of the current cooling loop for my cpu (its blocking the 2nd pci-e slot :( )

Don't know

What I do know is that these are HD2900XTs clocked down. With the right cooling it should be just as good.

the only thing is that theres a chance they may be lesser "XT's" that had cores not as good as the XTs. like most ATI pros tho, it may come down to luck of the draw

So I guess then I'll go head and buy this GPU, the only thing I hate is having regrets I don't want to buy this and then the 2950's come out cheaper and better then this, you know what I mean.

Oh and which one should I buy Sapphire or HIS, I was thinking HIS since it seem to come with a lot more cabels and such plus some sort of Half Life game which I am hoping is the Black Box not sure though.

Whilst looking for the Pro in the UK I came across the Sapphire 2900XT 512mb for £205.....any UK owners think that is a decent deal? Are there any decent overclocks to be had with the sapphire model?

I suppose it's too early to know outta the Pro's what manufacturers will be like for overclocking, there is a peice on VR zone that I was reading earlier (at work) saying that half of them will not clock past 650 on the core  Dont know how they come to that conclusion and if its true or just scaremongery.
