AMD HD 2900Pro Cards Now Available on Newegg

So I guess then I'll go head and buy this GPU, the only thing I hate is having regrets I don't want to buy this and then the 2950's come out cheaper and better then this, you know what I mean.

It has always been this way... It's a matter of which you want more, I guess. The 2950's won't be out untill Q1 08'.

Lets say it might be border line.

Why, what could happen if its not enough will it simple not work ,my current PSU Is barily being used, for instance it has so many wires that are vacent.

No it will go BANG and perhaps fry your mobo and graphics. 500W is the minimum and not really recommended, you need a little juice to play with in reserve.

Naw it would just cut out and lock up.

I would place a bet noting would fry.

Lol my Hyper and Antec both went BANG, the Hyper was fine until I went from a 7900GT to a 7900GTX, the extra 45W power draw just did it for good.

damulta, are you getting the 512mb ones or the 1 gb ones? if you already placed the order for the 512mb order, you can always just tell a rep to cancel it.

The Pro would appear to be the value/performance buy, I think the early 2900Pro releases will be good for overclcocks to maintain the hype, the "duff" chips will come later hopefully.

They are all most likely made at the same place with different stickers.

I say GDDR4 if you can pay for it.

Might not see that big of a difference in it, but with DX10 games coming you might.

Plus it will be worth more when it's time to resale it.

hope you don't forget us the rest with lower card ;i'll really like to see some benches !

ATI RULE :rockout:

I was going to order another 512 today for CF, and did order another 512. Then I saw the GDDR4 and canceled the last order and replaced it with the GDDR4 card.

The first card is already on the way.....Have to send it back next week for another 1Gb Card.

Thank You, then that is what I am going to get.

got a 550?

just to say i ran my 1gb 2900xt on my tagan 580W psu, worked quite fine, upgraded just incase and so i had pci-e 2 compatability and native 8 pin support, 500 W may be to low, esp if u intend on ocing to xt speeds

These are going to sell like hot cakes.

I bet newegg raises the price on them because of that.

just tell a rep to cancel the order for 512mb, they haven't shipped out yet probably.

trying to do that now.

I really need to go do my things.....have lots of stuff to do still.

lol, just multi task while waiting for someone to come up at live chat. tyrone's a really good rep, i always use him.

They canned my first order(Gddr3) but it will take 3-5 days for them to give me my money back.....no new egg credit or order transfer Errrr.

I hope they still have them and the price is same.

got a 550?

As I said before, a 550 might do it but if your CPU/system is overclocked it will be pretty close, and to me....pretty close is not worth it when we are talking expensive hardware......I am concerned about running a single Pro or XT off my quad rail 600W and that peaks at 4 x 12V rails with 18A on each!
