We saw the 3060 Ti get re-launched yesterday, and now the 6650 XT. Similar price, same performance. What a trash generation from both companies!

I wasn't convinced buying that 6750 XT was a good idea a few months ago, but now I'm sure it was.
Look at it this way, if stagnation is the name of the game then your GPU purchase will last longer!

Keeping a GPU for 6 years was madness a decade ago. Now its normal.

Point taken. It's the 4-core i7 era all over again, now with GPUs! :D

Needs to be $249 at most but it is much closer to a decent product and price than the 4060Ti is.

I expect AMD are trying to make hay before the 4060 launch and I would not be surprised if there is a price drop around that time with maybe even a 16GB variant as a spoiler at $299

Wow this is trash. 6650XT like performance for more money. It's nice that they dropped it 30 usd at that last minute due to them panicking over terrible reviews but it's not enough for this product.
Yeah when they did the spec breakdown a few weeks ago everyone was saying 6650xt/2080 level performance which is exactly where it fell.

Some people where hopefully for 6700xt level performance but the leaks and specs showed it was never happening

Even 6700 like performance for maybe 250 might have been ok but there are scenarios where this loses to a 3060 12GB which isn't that much more expensive basically anything in it's price range with more vram 6700/6750XT is a way better buy.

What this proves for the first time since RDNA3 launched, is that RDNA3 is worthless.

We have a near perfect comparison with the 6650XT - the only significant difference being the architecture - and it achieves precisely nothing.

I think 6nm hurts quite a bit had this been on 5nm it likely would be substantially more efficient but given what AMD is asking for this it would likely be even more expensive.

Decent value but not a bargain since the RDNA2 GPUs on sale today are in the same vfm class. Once the inventory of RDNA2 is vanished from the shelves that will be the GPU to go for if you need a 1080P card without spending more than needed.

My guess is in a couple months this card will be sub 250 usd. Especially after the 4060 launches which while similarly bad will offer DLSS that works much better at 1080p and likely be much more efficient.

Maybe we're not getting it... maybe current gen cards aren't meant for generational upgrades. Maybe they're meant for people upgrading from 5-7 year-old systems, just like no one in their right mind upgraded from a Core i7 6700K to a 7700K back in the days.

That could be the case this could just be for all those that missed out during the pandemic.

RDNA3 more like RDOA3.

RDNA2 was going to be a tough act to follow considering how competitive it was in raster performance but this is literally just an overclocked 6650XT with marginally improved raytracing. Looks like my 1080p budget recommendation will remain the 6600.

  • PCIe x8 interface
Why is this a negative?
If you run a 4090 at PCI 3.0x16\PCI 4.0x8 it only loses about 2 fps, so why should a very slow GPU need more lanes?
If it means they can save some cost and hopefully move said saving to customer, that makes it a plus.

I'm not saying it should be in the positive section but don't understand the negativity.

Again this shit, it's barely any faster then the card it replaces, at this point this is just ridiculous. At least the price isn't outrageous but that is hardly an endorsement.

Hopefully there are price drops on new cards once the old stock clears out, because both AMD and nV need to cut prices by 50$ at least.

seems amd is taking some lessons from their main competitor nvidia…

but yeah, at this price point just get a 6650xt/6700.

i think they will soon cut supply of 3000 and 6000 series, even if they have to bury them next to the ET cartridges, or these new cards will all be unsold for years.

Have you guys noticed that it's a fully enabled chip in a non-XT card? It means a potential XT version can only play on clock speed, like the 6650 XT vs 6600 XT, so this is pretty much it from Navi 33. It also means that cut-down versions will need a different model number, 7500 XT maybe? Interesting choice from AMD.

@W1zzard, due to the controversy over award designations, why not use the more objective data of your very nice X / Y analysis charts rather than the subjective choice/recommended awards? Here are some examples:

Highest performance award - #1 on relative performance per frame charts
High performance award - in the top 2-5
You could use a zig zag arrow going up and to the right as the award graphic.

Mother Nature award - #1 on efficiency charts
Good for the planet award - in the top 2-5
You could use a green leaf or a globe as the award graphic.

Best value award - #1 on performance per dollar charts
Great value award - in the top 2-5
You could use a coin as the award graphic.

Most innovative AIB award - #1 on noise, temp, cooler charts for a particular SKU (ie. 4090)
Innovative AIB award - in the top 2-5
You could use a fan as the award graphic.

I know it seems simple and a rehash of the data in another way but it would be harder for readers to argue the objective data found in your tests. The above would also limit the number of awards to the most standout products. Of course a single product could get multiple awards in this way. I also suggest placing the award icons at the top of the Value & Conclusions page. That would encourage readers to go back and focus on those awarded metrics and maybe read the conclusions rather than just stop reading at the Pros/Cons section.

Maybe AMD wanted to only have one monolithic die in the Navi 33.
